Heeeya! So this chapter isn't late at all O.O (sorry) :3
I just noticed that they've been on an unexplained holiday XD so I hope this explains it (but it will end at some point, and they will go back to Ouran)… I guess that's one thing I'm dreading about 500 days; I'm gonna have to do seasons and time it... But oh well… I will try, for you saucy people.
Disclaimer: I don't own OHSHC (no matter how much I'd like to)
Day 15
The summer house was amazing; painted a cool blue colour, with glass balconies overlooking the beautiful ocean.
"Wow, Hunny!" Haruhi gasped in awe of the pretty building.
The small, golden haired boy smiled broadly up at her, and giggled slightly.
The rest of the Host Club walked up the path behind them, and nodded in approval. It was the perfect way to spend the last few days of summer break.
The last few days were fairly uneventful for Haruhi, and she hadn't had much contact with anyone from the Host Club – apart from a few texts. So when Hunny suggested they all visit his beach house for a few days, she agreed, wholeheartedly. Her father, of course, already knew; thanks to Kyouya, and he was more than happy to let her go.
Inside the house, Haruhi found that it was just as gorgeous. The walls were painted in a very light lilac colour, and the ceilings were cream. Simple, but pretty flowers in glass vases were placed in every room. Intricate paintings of the sea lined the walls, the brilliant shades of blue standing out among the lighter colours of the rooms.
It wasn't as big as Tamaki's mansion, and in comparison, it was almost normal. But that was in comparison. To Haruhi, it was still huge, with four floors - not including the basement - and fourteen bedrooms.
Rays of sunlight burned through the windows, making the house seem alive.
Her friends all wanted to hit the beach as soon as possible, and she couldn't agree more. The twins immediately produced a range of swimsuits, and the others could not help but wonder where they had suddenly produced them from.
When Tamaki saw the beautiful array of cute swimsuits, he immediately got a nosebleed and refused to let Haruhi wear any of them in front of the other club members.
"Haruhiiiiii, you would wear these in front of this group of perverts?! I absolutely FORBID it!"
The group of perverts in question simultaneously raised their eyebrows, while watching ironically as the blood flowed from Tamaki's nose.
Haruhi frowned. "Well that's fine; I've brought my own."
Tamaki fainted due to blood loss.
When Haruhi emerged from her room wearing a delicate purple and white tartan bikini, the host club members could only stare.
The bottom half showed off her flat stomach and thin legs, whilst the top half was more modest, but ever so slightly padded.
This moment was then ruined by her pulling a very baggy sweatshirt over the top.
Kaoru and Hikaru looked on in horror, as Haruhi ruined one of the only moments of tasteful dress sense that she had ever displayed.
"What! You were all staring at me!" She growled, ferociously.
Kyouya was quickest on the uptake, and smiled at her – which looked… almost… predatory.
"For good reason. You looked stunning."
The rest of the Host club backed away. Very. Slowly.
Muttering started coming from their direction.
"Was it just me, or was that somehow… frightening?" "He just… gave a compliment." "He has a heart?!" "Noo… he couldn't possibly"
Haruhi smiled, grabbed a towel and set off down to the beach, intending to have fun. Everyone else followed, and soon they were standing on warm sand. The slight breeze made the weather just right, and they couldn't help but let their inner children out, as they ran to the sea, and started jumping over waves and splashing eachother – with the exception of Kyouya – who was outstretched on the sand, like a reclining cat.
Even Mori was joining in, stood next to Haruhi and Honey, and looking extremely happy as his gaze alternated between his closest friends.
Soon enough, they ran back up the beach and took huge swigs of water and ate sandwiches from a picnic that Hunny's maids had prepared.
Haruhi wondered why, for the whole time, the beach had been empty, on a wonderful day like this.
The question died on her lips, however, as she realised, with a sigh, that it was a private beach.
She had, once again, forgotten how rich they were.
They spent the next few hours on the beach, getting in and out of the water, relaxing, having a laugh and sunbathing.
As it was beginning to get dark, an idea struck Tamaki and he made a call. A second later, a bonfire was set up in front of them, and the two men who had provided it were climbing back inside a van and driving off.
A music device was pulled out of a pocket, and a flow of music flowed through the speakers. In her surprise, Haruhi didn't recognise which of the twins that pulled her to her feet and began to spin her in circles, but she soon realised she was laughing in the arms of Kaoru.
That, in itself was surprising. He was being far brasher than he usually was, but she found it slightly endearing.
It was nice to know that he could surprise her.
By the time they had stopped dancing, the sky was completely dark, and they were all collapsed on the floor, laughing.
The picture of them all, lying on their backs on the sand, the stars glittering above them, and waves quietly splashing on the shoreline, could have been painted. Haruhi smiled, as she thought about the fact that it was just like old times. Before any of this was placed upon her.
She stretched out on the sand and closed her eyes, falling asleep.
A sense of Déjà vu struck her when she awoke to look up into Mori's face, as he was carrying her back to the holiday house.
She smiled. "We have to stop meeting like this."
It was a good thing it was whispered, as when she closed her eyes again, she could hear the chatting of the host club behind her, especially Tamaki, who was whining about how Mori was holding Haruhi instead of him.
While the rest of the host club was much less vocal about their jealousy, the gritted teeth and suspicious glances were not particularly subtle.
Not actually part of the story
"Why do you get to hold her?!" asked Tamaki, indignantly.
"Because." Kyouya sighed. "Statistics show that the readers prefer the HaruhixMori pairing."
He pointed to his graph.
"Wait. YOU'VE BEEN TALKING TO THE READERS?!" asked the twins.
"We have readers?" asked Tamaki.
Kyouya sighed. "Yes. And I do wish they'd vote for me…"
Hunny jumped in the air "Can I talk to them?! I bet they're lovely!"
"No!" Kyouya said. "Only I can talk to them. They only love me."
"We have readers?" asked Tamaki.
Okay. So that last bit in italics wasn't actually part of the story, just something weird I thought up on the spot, but decided it was a bit too stupid to put into the actual story.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter anyhow, and will try to update soon.
