Chapter 24:Purple Suit
We had a great lunch time. Both Toya and I kept eating the food without hesitation. We ate like a pig. And now I feel like a balloon, I can't breathe because I'm too full. Toya, in the other hands, he seems energetic than usual.
"So?" He says.
"Huh?"
"About 'that' room?"
"Oh..." I scratch my head. "Wait, you serious?" I open my eyes widely.
"Of course. We need the video cam, right?" He says.
I reply him with a nod.
"We also need to know what's inside before we leave to Yokohama, right?" He continues.
I keep silence.
"Right?" He repeats.
"I really want to know what's inside too. But I think we already have enough of Chitose's secret. We open her boxes, yet we live in her house." I explain.
"I know. But for the last time. Please, Atsuma." Toya begs.
I sigh. I know from the beginning that I cannot change his mind. Well, maybe it's time for me to reveal what's inside. The truth is I, too, really want to know what is inside. But after several failed attempts, I give up.
"Chitose will come home any minutes. So, we will go there tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that she will go with her friend again tomorrow."
And that's how it is. After that, Toya doing some research to refill the boxes' ether in his room. I, myself doing a hobby. Sitting next to the window and start daydreaming.
I let out a soft sigh. Not because I'm troubled, but to feel this lonely moment. It's been a while since I was doing this hobby last time. I stare at the snowfield. Nothingness. I realize that today's fog is a bit thick. I can't see anything clearly. But, well… nothing is worth to see in this snowfield.
I don't know how long I've been sitting here and staring outside the window. I don't think it is that long, but I feel sleepy. I want to close my eyes for a moment. My eyes start to close by themselves. Although I already close my eyes, I still can't sleep for the cold keeps me awake.
I think that I should go to my own room and take a nap. I lazily open my eyes, still what I see is nothingness. I stare the blurry empty snowfield for a minute. Suddenly I see something that makes my sleepiness gone.
"I don't believe it…" I whisper to myself.
I see someone outside. Blurry but I absolutely sure that is a person, a man to be exact. He's tall, wearing glasses, purple cloth and has long hair. Somehow I feel that I've seen him somewhere before. I wipe the window to clear the fog, but the man is gone.
Ah, was that just my imagination? But I'm really sure there's a person out there. Or maybe he collapse? Thinking of that makes me afraid. Without any hesitation I call Toya.
"Toya! Toya!"
"What!?" he seems so piss because I didn't knock again.
"I saw a man, maybe he collapses now, should we check on him?" I grab his arm.
"What? Are you sure it's a man?"
"Yes, 100% sure. He has long hair, wearing glass, and…"
"We must check on him now." He cuts my word. Then he grabs his jacket, "Come on!"
We hurriedly to outside. We check on every place that we can, but we won't go too far from the house.
"Where is this man you talked about?" Toya protests.
I keep silence. I really don't know what's happening. I really am sure about what I saw.
Sigh…
I can hear Toya's disappointed sigh. "Well, maybe you just day dreaming like always."
"What? I don't always day dreaming."
"Yes, yes, yes. We should go back now. It's getting more freezing out here." He walks away.
I will not day dreaming about a man with a scary face. But after what Toya said, I start to think that I was day dreaming. We walk to the house. Inside, Chitose already waits for us.
"Where did you go?" Ask Chitose curiously.
"Outside, Atsuma said that he saw a man collapsed outside. But apparently, he was wrong." Toya points me with his thumb.
"It's true." I protest. "I saw a very tall man with glasses, purple cloth and has long hair."
After hearing that, Chitose's face turns pale. She bites her lips firmly.
"You sure?" She asks.
"Yes, by the window. I saw him. I really did saw him." I really want to believe on what Toya said about it was just my imagination. But I must protect my own beliefs now. "Do you believe on me, Chitose?"
Chitose forces herself to smile and replies me with her slight nod.
We prepare for our dinner. Chitose has been weird since I told her about the man I saw this afternoon.
"Chitose, are you alright?" I ask her.
"Yes." She still smiles like usual, but I don't think it's her true smile.
"You must be too tired. You go with your friend every day this week." Toya says.
But "Maybe." Is just Chitose's reply.
We sleep earlier that night. I hope that voice doesn't come to me this night, I'm a little bit tired.
