Chapter 26:That Room

As I thought, Chitose left us after breakfast. Leaving the two of us in this house again. I watch Chitose's back from the window as she goes to meet her friend again.

"Is she gone?" Toya asks.

"Yes…" It feels that my answer is a bit sad. In fact, I'm sad, really sad. I want to see the world outside. Everyday seeing Chitose goes out, I really envy her.

"Good, now I want to tell you about something. Remember?" Says Toya cheerfully.

"Ah, yes… what's that about?" I'm a bit curious.

"It's about the Last Devil Golem. It's somewhere in Grave Keeper's Village. Apparently, it has a very special ability, to absorb ether." He continues his chant.

The Last Devil Golem, Grave Keeper's Village, seems I've heard about them somewhere.

"Hey, come to think about it. Your right arm has similar ability like Infinity." He taps my shoulders.

"Wha? Oh, yeah? But… what is Infinity?" I scratch my head.

He face palms himself. "Didn't you hear what I just say? Man, I explain it to you, yet you spaced out."

"Sorry…" I scratch my head again.

"Infinity is the Last Devil Golem. It still unknown whether this rumor is true or not. But there's a sample cell that has been brought for research. And the sample is in Sage's Tower. What kind of place is that, anyway?" He says.

Sage's Tower. Now, I remember where I've ever heard about The Last Devil Golem, Grave Keeper's Village and the ability to absorb ether are. It's from my dream. Suddenly, Toya slaps my back.

"There you are! Space out again!" His voice fills with anger, "Are you listening or not?"

"Yes, yes, of course." I rub my back, it's hurt. "By the way, do you know where Sage's Tower is?"

Toya rubs his chin. According to what have written in the paper, Sage's Tower is not too far from Grave Keeper's Village. There's a map printed in the paper. I can see Sage's Tower is written in the map.

"Hey, it's my village over here." Toya points the bottom corner of the map. "Wow, it's the whole map of this snowfield. Ah, there's another Ancient Villages not far from my village. And there it is, Sage's Tower. Hmm… it's really not that far from Grave Keeper's Village."

"Toya, you said that it's the whole map of this snowfield, right? So where are we?" I ask.

"Good point. I don't see any mark that showing our spot." Toya sighs. "I didn't sleep last night, now I'm tired. But I haven't read it all." He lets out a long sigh. "Oh, well… I'll read it again tonight. But first, I think we should check 'that room'"

"You don't mean…"

Toya replies me with a smile and an energetic nod. He then drags me to that room. In no time, we already stand in front of the door. Without hesitation, he turns the knob. I gasp loudly when he pushes the door.

"What are you gasping?" He pisses off.

"You just open it without any hesitation. What if there's something in there?" I complain.

"Come on! Don't be a chicken." He pushes me to enter the room.

"Wha!? You come in first." I pull Toya's hand.

"Agh! You fool! I almost fell!" He protests. "There's still one door. You open it." He insists.

I pout and grab the door knob. The pressure is a real thing. I can't help myself but just stand still in front of the second door. Toya protests hard after few seconds waiting without anything happen.

"Damn! What're you waiting for?" Toya squeezes my shoulder.

"Cut it out! It's hurt!" I protest.

"Chitose? Is that you?" Someone's voice comes from the secret room.

Both I and Toya gasp loudly. We are panicking. We want to run, but our feet is too weak to run even to stand up seem very difficult to us now. I pull myself to stand up properly. I can see Toya is trying to crawl all the way to outside.

Suddenly, the door that I was trying to open, is moving; revealing the person who opens it. Wider and wider, now I can see the person clearly. It's not a person. She's a Golem, Primrose.

"Eh? Not Chitose?" The Primrose looks sharp on us.

I'm the nearest to her. My sweat is running fast. I couldn't turn my head to see what Toya is doing.

"Alert! Intruders!" Primrose shouts.

From Primrose's behind, I can see five until seven Golem come out from their hideout. Their eyes are glowing red, fill with anger because we step in their lair. Toya screams. I want to scream too, but my voice stuck in my throat. All I can do is just stand still and look at them with my teary eyes.

We are doom for sure…
