"Lord Death, we have a problem." Maka said to her commander and chief, Lord Death. Lord Death is a tall man that loves to wear a pitch black cloak with big foam hands and a childish skull mask. His voice is very high pitch too, but still deep enough to know that his is male. Reason for this, are still unknown, even his own son doesn't know why his father dresses like that. Lord Death runs an academy called the DWMA. It's a very well-known school because of the high education that it proves, but it's also an academy that teaches students how to get rid of kishins. Kishins are people that try to disturb the peace of the city and the world. Everyone who is a kishin had joined only to get wanted power and money. People who are in bad times and know that they have nothing left to do with their lives join an organization called the kishin. This organization is worldwide huge, and it's all run by one man. They call him Asura. Asura is the leader of all kishins and it is the duty of the choose few who attend the DWMA to take him and his organization down. That's why Lord Death created this academy. It also works as a regular school you see outside your house or down you street, but it's also an undercover academy that trains students. This is how the academy of the DWMA works.
Dangerous Love
Chapter One: Set-Up
"Aw Maka-Chan, how was your mission. I presume that it was successful, yes?" Lord Death asked in his childish voice towards the now ashy-blond leader.
"Yes sir, the mission went smoothly, except for the fact that there was two kishins at the school." Maka replied in her business voice. Her response made Lord Death tilt his head to the side in question of her statement.
"Two?" The headmaster asked only to get a firm nod from his student. "Oh my, well isn't that a pickle."
"Father, what does that mean?" His son, Kidd asked stepping forward to his father.
Lord Death sighs, "I should have guessed that it was a set up. You three were wearing disguises, right?"
"Of course, but what do you mean it was a set up?" Black Star asked.
"Now, you see, we got a tip saying that there was a slight chance a kishin was in the school, but I didn't know what to think of it since the person who called was…off."
"What do you mean they were 'off'?" Kidd asked his father using his fingers to quote the word 'off' that was used.
"Well, when the person called, we couldn't determine if they were male or female. I'm guessing they did that on purpose. Plus-"
"Why couldn't you just track them down? I mean they can't be that hard to find if they used a cell phone of their own or a disposable cell where you can get their location from one of the cellular towers." Black Star said not facing Lord Death and earning himself a Reaper and Maka-Chop. "OW! That hurt…."
"As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted." Lord Death said while glaring at Black Star who was rubbing his head from the pain. "Is that the location we tracked was traced to a payphone." Lord Death said.
"Then, we'll go around the area from where the payphone was called and see if there is any kishins there in hiding." Maka finally said from being quiet for an unusually long time. "What are the coordinates for the payphone?"
"You see that's another thing about the call. It was made from the payphone that is located on the outskirts of the city." Lord Death says.
"What?" Black Star and Kidd say in disbelief.
"So, what you're saying is that there's a gender-less person who made a call from a payphone that is located on the city's outskirts, to give a tip that there is possibly a kishin going to a high school in the middle of the city? Did I get all the facts right?" Maka asks Kidd's father who nodes in response to her question. She was deep in thought concentrating on problem before hand, when the large doors to the death room open to reveal a mop full of red hair and medium blue eyes. This person took the chance of leaping on the unsuspecting female in a big bear hug. This person's name was Spirit Albarn.
"MAKA! MAKA! MAKA!" Spirit yelled as his daughter had a vein pulsing out her head in frustration. That is until a "Maka-Chopped" was heard and saw that Spirit was currently lying on the floor talking to a smaller replica of his daughter crying on and on about, "Why doesn't Maka want papa to hug her?"
"In any case, I'm ordering you three to stay low for some time while I figure this out. I don't like the fact that there's a mysterious person going around and calling the DWMA hot line. If it is a set up by a kishin, then I'm curious as to 'HOW' they were about to get the number in the first place. There are only a handful of people who know about it, besides the teachers and staff and the members of the Spartoi team." Lord Death said with his big foam gloves on the chin of the mask. This surprised the three teenagers altogether. Lord Death rarely tells his students to lay low, but since he ordered it – another thing that he doesn't do often – the three teens said a quick "yes sir" and left. But before they made it out the door he added, "Oh, and for your cover you three will start working in a local café while still attending school." Now he was just being cruel.
