Chapter 33:Mysterious Shadow
Five days have passed since we help Chitose with the research. I learn a lot of things and I'm able to read fluently now. Chitose and Toya take great interest on my right arm, so they also research my arm.
I keep count our days before our vacation, two more days, and I can finally see world outside. Not only had I the one who excited, Toya extremely excited too. He keeps looking at his watch every hour and sleeps real early.
Today, we end our research earlier. Although it's still eight o'clock. We decide to sleep earlier too. Guess our eyes are tired from the computer monitor and texts on the books. What's more, my hands are killing me. I wrote a lot of information that Chitose told me to, and nothing that I can understand. She said although I can't understand, it's a practice for me. True, because of that, I can write a lot of words now.
We greet each other good night. Chitose gives us forehead kisses and tells us to have a good sleep. Yes, I think I can have a good sleep tonight after that tiring activity. Weird, all we did all day was just in the lab, doing research, nothing else. What makes me so tired?
I keep thinking and thinking. And those thinking keep me awake. Man, it's so annoying! I get insomnia again tonight. I close my eyes, but my mind is wandering around. Dammit, dammit! The more I keep thinking, the more I can't sleep. Hmm… maybe I should go outside and watch the moon. Hopefully, it can make me calm down from my head.
I go outside, there's no one here. Dark is always surrounding this place. I must admit that this house is still scary, although we already knew the warehouse ghost was actually a prank. I have myself sit in my usual place. The moon is shining so bright tonight, the moon light seems hypnotizes my mind. Indeed, I become sleepier than before.
But I still want to accompany the moon. The moon looks rather sad tonight or it's just my sleepy eyes playing trick on me. I'm starting to get sleepy now, this place is getting colder now. Time to go back, perhaps. But one last glimpse at my dear friend just to say good night to him.
I step down from my seat, and I figure out something far from this house, watching over us. I don't know what that is, seems it's already been here when since I looked at the moon. I stick my eyes to the window and look at it. Looks like it is a person, what he doing in the middle of night? Is he the same person that I once saw?
I want to call Chitose but she must be in the dream land by now, so instead I call Primrose. She was sleeping in the lab with other Golems. I go to the lab, and wow, the Golems standing while sleep. I call her, she opens her eyes and greets me. It makes Sebastian, who standing beside her awakes too.
"Er… I saw something suspicious. Can you check that for me?" I ask.
"Sure." Say Primrose and Sebastian harmoniously.
They look outside the window. It makes me nervous to just wait them, so I ask them.
"Master Atsuma, could you please call Chitose?" asks Primrose.
"Are you sure? Chitose must be sleep in sound now." I ask Primrose.
"Yes, Please. We really need her to see this." convinces Primrose.
"Well, Ok…" After I say that I go to the Chitose's room. I knock the door several times until she awakes.
"What is it, Atsuma?" She yawns.
"Primrose calls you." I point to the living room.
Chitose eyes fill with fear all of sudden. She runs to the living room and discusses something with Primrose and Sebastian. I can't hear that clearly, but I try my best to set my ears on this conversation.
"Is that him?" Asks Chitose.
"We're not sure. But judging from the shadow, it might be him." Says Sebastian.
"What is your order, Chitose?" Asks Primrose.
"Keep an eye on him. We are not sure it is him yet." Says Chitose. "We need to wake the others up."
"Understood." Say Primrose and Sebastian harmoniously.
After saying that, Chitose turns her body to look at me. She forces a smile to her mouth and tells me to go back to sleep. I nod and without any talk I go to my room. Yet, I still can't sleep. Chiose's face earlier was very scary.
