Chapter 10 Budding Love
Lexi woke up the next morning smiling and remembering the wonderful day she had with Jose the day before. She got up and checked her goldfish that sat next to her bed that she named Cuddles. As she walked to the mirror the first things she saw were the photo strips from the booth and she smiled at each one. Lacey walked to her closet and picked up a simple t shirt with her favorite band logo on the front and an old pair of jeans. She slid on a pair of flats that sat at the foot of her bed and walked over to the mirror again. She grabbed the chocker off of the side of the mirror and put it on smiling as she brushed her hair into place, and she left her room closing the door behind her.
Lacey walked down the stairs to see her mother at the kitchen table with the paper and a cup of coffee. Lacey walked down to her mother and gave her a hug and said, "Good morning." Lacey then walked into the kitchen pouring a bowl of cereal and milk and sitting across the table from her mother. Her mother smiled and put the paper down and asked, "How did the date go yesterday? Oh, and I'm sorry I couldn't wait up for you." Lacey smiled at the memory of the date and blushed at the thought that she would get to see him again soon. Her mother noticed the blushing and smiled and said, "Young love is so cute." Lacey hid her face from her mom by keeping it pointed towards the bowl as she ate. After Lacey finished her breakfast she told her mom about everything that her and Jose had done the day before and that she was going to see him again at some point. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door
"I wonder who that could be this early" Lacey thought to herself as she got up and answered the door. Jose was standing there with a bouquet of flowers and a smile on his face. "Good morning I was passing by and thought I would stop in and see how you were doing" he said. Lacey smiled and stepped to the side to let him through the door. "Pleas come in" Lacey said. Jose accepted the invitation sliding off his shoes at the door and stepping through the threshold. Jose noticed that Lacey's mother was sitting at the table and he went up to her and bowed slightly as he said hello. Jose gave Lacey the flowers pulled Lacey's chair out and sat down next to her. Lacey grabbed a vase and filled it with water before sitting down.
The rest of the morning was spent in conversation between the three of them talking about what plans they had for the day, and the plans for the future. Lacey smiled as she talked thinking, " This is nice I hope this becomes a common thing." As her thought finished she realized that she was starting to have a weird feeling in her chest every time Jose spoke or even when he was near her. "What is this feeling and why does it only happen around him" she thought as she listened to Jose and her mother talk.
After the three finished their conversation Jose stood up gave a slight bow and headed for the door. Lacey followed him holding her hands in front of her as she watched him slide his shoes back on. Jose spun around and said, "Enjoy those flowers and I will be texting you throughout the day. I'm sorry I can't stay longer, but my parents need me to do some things today." Lacey nodded and smiled and hugged him before walking him out of the door and to the front gate. "I will see you tomorrow bright and early for school tomorrow and I will be looking forward to more time with you" Jose said from the other side of the gate and he pulled his hand away from Lacey's slowly and went on his way
