Yaebi's PoV
It had been almost two days since we got stuck in the Nether. Steve, Rat, Cindy and Stephanie had gone deeper to look for a ruby, but they hadn't come back. I was really worried for them. We had no way of lighting our portal, and we were getting desperate. I could hear Andr and Cupa trying to get a flint and steel together. They had been since about the past day, and I found it quite funny what they were doing. They had dug up some flint from a gravel deposit, and were now trying to smelt some nether iron ore over a lava pool.
''Okay… it's melting… awesome, just don't…'' Cupa was saying to Andr, who was holding the ore over the lava.
''OW, OW, OW! TOO HOT!'' Andr suddenly yelled, and dropped the ore into the lava.
''Dammit, that was our last ore! Why can't you just hold on to it for just another second?'' Cupa scolded her friend.
''Oh, excuse me, but I don't see you holding a red hot block in your hand, and don't expect to lose a couple of pretty little fingers!'' Andr barked back.
''Guys, stop fighting! We need to work together to get out of here!''
''So you want to get out of here, huh?'' said a voice from behind me. We all turned to see a teenage girl with red hair and large wings sitting on a pile of netherrack.
''Um, who are you, and how long have you been watching us?'' asked Cupa.
''Name's Fiona, and how long I've been here isn't really important. What is important is how much you want to get out of here, is that right?''
''Well, yeah, we need to get out of here. Do you know where our friends have gone?''
''Oh, yeah, those guys. My friend's taking them where they need to go, maybe you should go there too.''
''That's nice, but we might never find this portal again, and we need it to get home.''
''That's not a problem, it's not that far.''
''If it's all the same to you, we'll come, but we're going to leave something behind so we can find out way back.'' Fiona didn't answer, as she was too busy thinking about something, so I talked to Andr.
''Do you have anything that could help us out here, Andr? We really to get back here some time in the future if we do go.''
''I thought something like this might happen, so me and Stephanie made this while we were in the city.'' She pulled out a device that looked like a large touchscreen device. On the top of the device said VOXELMAP 1.0. Andr tapped the screen and pressed, swiped and triangulated, and then she looked up. ''Okay.'' she said. ''We have a mark of where we are in this world, called a waypoint. Wherever we are in the Nether, we'll be able to find this spot again.''
''Okay, now we can go.'' I said to Fiona.
''Alright then, I'll lead the way.'' she said. She obviously didn't see the device, and little did we know this would save out lives…
Steve's PoV
On our searches for a ruby, my team and I had met a zombie pig girl named Paula Powers. When Stephanie heard this name, she perked up. ''Wait, are you by any chance related to Red Powers, the famous inventor of Project Red?''
Paula paused for a moment, not sure how to answer that question, then finally said she was his daughter. I could tell Stephanie was trying very hard to contain her excitement.
''Wow! Just…wow! The daughter of Red Powers! He was so amazing! Project Red made redstoning cool!''
''Wait.'' I asked her. ''Redstoning wasn't cool until this guy changed it all?''
''Well, not really. It may have been awesome for you and your player friends, but to us, redstoning was for a long time very mainstream, very boring. There wasn't much to it. You could make cool looking piston things, arrow traps, and puzzles, but that was about it. Sound similar?''
''Yeah.'' I answered. ''It was okay, but this sounds like it could be much better.''
''Once we get back, I might show you a few parts of Project Red. You'll love it.'' Stephanie said to me.
I looked at Paula, and I could see what was clearly doubt in her eyes. What it was about, I didn't know, so I just decided to keep quiet. She noticed me looking at her, so she just turned away. We finally reached a large castle built into the side of a range of netherrack plateaus, where we met up with the others.
''Oh, hey guys, are you ok? You were gone for days!'' said Andr.
''We're fine, but aren't you supposed to be at the portal?'' Rat asked.
''Andr's got that sorted out.'' said Cupa.
''Goodbye and good luck, you hopeless losers.'' said Fiona as she grabbed Paula and flew off.
''Wait, what did she mean by that?'' I said as I was suddenly interrupted by a huge army of black skeletons running out of the castle at us, followed by a young woman who looked almost identical to Cindy. She pointed a sword made of pure, perfectly carved stone at us, and all the skeletons rushed towards us.
''Oh, that's what she meant.'' I finished, as I prepared for those to be my last words…
