Splitting Focus
Disclaimer: I do not own Johnny Test
Alright, time to answer a few questions I have received in my reviews:
"Can you update sooner" or something along those lines: Sadly, Saturdays are my only available days, but with looking for a job it may change or remain the same, hard to tell at this point, depends on when I get a job. School starts on the 23rd, Monday, for me, so my weekdays will be kind of busy, and Sundays are my moms day off and she usually has me running errands with her. So Saturdays are my only open days in all honesty.
"Sequel?": We haven't reached the end of this story yet, but it should be put out there that when I came up with the idea for this story I had no intentions or ideas for a sequel to this story, and still do not have any. I apologize to those who wanted a sequel, but I hope that once I get the last chapter up that you understand and see that there would be no way to make a sequel. For future reference, if my stories go over 20 chapters, then generally there won't be a sequel, not saying that it won't one day happen for a sequel to a story of that length or greater, but such is not that case with this story. Also, I have three other cartoons/anime stories in the making, and one of those groupings will have 25 short stories over all, so no worries.
I hope this cleared a few things up, and again I apologize to those who wanted a sequel. I'm honored and humbled that you like my writing on this story so much that you want more and sooner, but I have almost completely exhausted my creativity fuel for this story and it takes time to the creativity and editing done. There may be future stories for this cartoon, but they most likely will not be a sequel to this story. Apologies.
Ok, on with the story.
September, first day of college
Johnny grumbled as he woke up earlier than he wanted to. The twins had been taking turns crying throughout the night, which of course limited the sleep both Johnny and Sissy got, not like they weren't used to it. Sissy woke up as well, going to the kitchen and making eggs, bacon, and toast for breakfast as Johnny managed to drag himself out of bed. Just as Sissy finished up breakfast Johnny walked into the kitchen as she dished up his portion.
"Morning." Sissy said as she handed him his plate.
"Morning." Johnny said with a yawn. The babies had been fed and changed an hour ago, so Sissy didn't think they'd be awake for a little while. After eating Johnny showered and then changed for school.
"See you at work." Johnny said before kissing Sissy sweetly before walking out the door.
"See you." Sissy said as the door closed behind him. She was now used to juggling work, social time, babies, and keep the apartment clean. She was actually quite proud of herself for figuring out that much in such a short amount of time she finished her own breakfast before grabbing the pumped milk out of the freezer and getting the other things ready for the twin's trip to her parents. A month or so ago Sissy invested in a breast pump so that when she had to work and could not breast feed them, they would still get the milk instead of the formula. After the bags were ready she went into the baby room where Jennifer had already woken up and had begun to play with the stuffed toys in her crib while her brother slept quietly. Like father like son. Sissy mused mentally. She picked up Jennifer after taking the toy out of her hands and got her changed into her pink leggings and little white dress, grabbing the light jacket that she had for her, and finishing off the little outfit with little white shoes and socks and a little pink hat. She pulled the jacket on Jennifer, much to her fussing, as she did every time she was being dressed, just as Jacob began to stir.
She placed Jennifer in her carrier and buckled her as she tended to Jacob, dressing him in a blue tee shirt, and jeans, with his little tennis shoes and beanie. After scouring the room she found his jacket and then got him buckled into his carrier before she picked them both up and took them to her room so she could change before grabbing her bus pass and getting to the bus stop. Most people would wonder why she didn't just use the stroller, but she had to take the carriers anyway because once she and Johnny got off work then they would pick them up from her parent's house, and that required their carriers. Once the bus arrived and she got on, she sat and waited for her stop before getting off and started walking about a block to her parent's house to drop off the twins and their things before turning right back around to get on the bus and go to work.
With Johnny
Johnny sat through his first class boredly. It being the first day the teacher didn't give them any work, and it also being an English class, they would wait until people got their books and supplies before starting into anything really. All he got was a syllabus, which he was sure he would get more of in his next two classes. Science he thought might give them something to do and math he knew the teacher would give them homework. Once the professor stopped talking and the class had ten minutes till its end the teacher dismissed them.
"Hey kid, you new?" one girl asked, walking next to him.
"How'd you guess?" Johnny asked.
"You have that deer in the headlights look." The girl snorted.
"I guess so." Johnny said.
"Hey, no worries, the professors are supposed to dismiss class with ten minutes to spare, it takes time getting to buildings." The girl giggled.
"True. Ok, thanks." Johnny said with a sigh of relief.
"No prob, so, you single?" the girl asked.
"No, I'm engaged." Johnny said seeing her frown.
"Oh." She said curtly.
"What?" Johnny asked annoyed.
"Nothing, have fun with your life." She huffed. Johnny rolled his eyes as he started to walk off.
"Hey kid, it's no big deal. Jess always gets like that with new boys. She's what you call a benefit." One guy chuckled walking up to him.
"Oh, one of those girls." Johnny said.
"Precisely. What's your name kid?" the guy asked.
"Just call me Johnny." Johnny said.
"Ok, my name is Frank. I see you have chemistry next and coincidentally enough, so do I, come on, follow me." Frank chuckled.
"Why you being so nice to me?" Johnny asked.
"Because you look like a good kid. Not to mention you're engaged which means you're a committed guy." Frank chuckled.
"Hey Johnny!" the familiar voice of Bo sounded. Johnny smiled thankfully.
"Hey Bo!" Johnny chuckled.
"This guy a pal of yours?" Frank asked with a smile.
"Yeah, I've known him since seventh grade." Johnny chuckled as Bo ran up to him.
"Man am I glad to see you. You said you chemistry second right?" Bo asked.
"Yeah, oh Bo, this is Frank. Just met him." Johnny chuckled.
"Nice to meet you." Frank and Bo said in unison before laughing and all of them walking off to their chemistry class.
After school
Johnny groaned about the amount of homework he had from math. Seventy two question due tomorrow, what the hell? Johnny mentally growled as he got in his car and drove towards work. Upon arriving he was relived a little to see it wasn't nearly as busy as it usually was.
"Hey Sissy, Joe, Mark." Johnny said as he entered the store.
"Hey." All three replied, Sissy smiling up at him.
"Have fun with the paperwork." Sissy giggled. Johnny rolled his eyes as he walked up the stairs to his small office and sat down and started on his paperwork that he was still catching up on from that two week menace. The hours flew by and before Johnny knew it the day was at an end and the store was being closed up. Johnny and Sissy walked out to his car and drove off towards the Blakely residence, picking up their children before finally going home. Once home and changed, Johnny sat down to do his homework while Sissy started on dinner. The twins were in their play area in the living room and both started to cry. Johnny got up and walked over to them, the smell hitting him first.
"Could you change them please?" Sissy asked from the kitchen.
"Sure." Johnny sighed as he grabbed the new diapers and changed them. Jacob and Jennifer being his children, they obviously put up a struggle with it, always fussing and wiggling throughout the whole process, but they were changed. Once dinner was ready Sissy brought out his portion, holding her own in her other hand.
"Thanks." Johnny said with a smile before looking back to his homework. He was already down to fifty questions, but that still didn't make it any less ridiculous. Jacob started to fuss and Sissy picked him up, only for Jennifer to get fussy a moment later. Johnny went over and picked her up, carrying her back over to where he was and then started to eat a few bites of food and then do his homework. Jennifer started to reach for his pencil but Johnny kept her from reaching it. She whimpered, but still did not receive what she wanted, and then she cried only to get Johnny to place a finger on her small lips, hushing her. Johnny started to rock her carefully while doing his homework and eating dinner. Sissy couldn't help the light laughter escape.
"What's so funny?" Johnny asked.
"You are. You've figured out how to balance, work, home, and friends, but add school in the mix and it's like you learning the others all over again." Sissy giggled. Johnny rolled his eyes.
"Hopefully I get it soon. Jennifer, stop that." Johnny groaned as she pulled on his shirt.
3 weeks later
"Hey Sissy, the guys wanna hang out at the park today." Johnny said over the phone nervously. It was both his and Sissy's day off.
"Johnny, we were gonna take the kids to the zoo today." Sissy sighed.
"Shit, sorry." Johnny said over the phone.
"What?" Bo asked.
"I spaced that we were going to take Jacob and Jennifer to the zoo." Johnny said.
"Go, don't worry about it, we can hang out some other time, go be a dad." Frank chuckled.
"I'll be there soon. Again, I'm sorry, what with work, and those damnable essays…" Johnny continued on as he walked off.
"What's been bugging him?" Frank asked.
"He's been spreading himself too thin. Working, school, home, friends, and with the remaining wedding plans and that date coming up, can't honestly blame him, and it's good that his fiancée understands, hell, she's been a little spacy because of her load being about the same, only minus the school." Zack said.
"He's almost in the swing of it, just a few more weeks and he should have it down at least." Robby chuckled.
October, two weeks before the wedding
"So, how are you holding up there buddy?" Bo asked as he, Johnny and their other friends sat around a table at a little café they went to.
"To be honest, I'm freaking out about the wedding. Almost everything is set up; Sissy just needs to go get her dress and the bride's maid's dresses." Johnny replied.
"I was talking about the balancing act at home." Bo chuckled.
"That I can handle." Johnny said.
"Until some curve ball comes your way." Zack chuckled.
"Hey, don't jinx me." Johnny chuckled.
"He's just trying to say to be prepared for anything really." Jace replied.
"I know, but we'll see if I really have gotten this all down when that happens." Johnny said as his mind filled with possibilities for the future.
Hope you all liked it, and sorry for the lengthy explanation at the beginning.
My next update will be a double update, and yes, the wedding will be one of them. The moment you have all been so patiently waiting for.
R&R please and I hope no one took any offense to what I said above, sorry if you did.
See you all again on 9/28/2013
