Perfect Day of Our Lives
Disclaimer: I do not own Johnny Test
The long awaited wedding chapter. This is a double update week, so keep a look out for the next chapter I put up today.
November 10th
Johnny was anxious as any man would be on their wedding day. He could feel his heart beating in his ears from the sheer nervousness of it all, but what he could not figure out is why he was so nervous. They had been living together for about four months or so, they had already had children, and they had been dating since their sophomore year. He double checked and made sure his tie was straight for maybe the third time that hour. A knock sounded.
"Who is it?" Johnny asked.
"Gil bro." Gil laughed from the other side.
"Come in." Johnny chuckled.
"Hey man, just wanted to remind you not to stress too much man. Believe it or not, I was freaking out on my wedding day to." Gil said with a light smile.
"Really?" Johnny asked.
"I know, laid back me freaking right?" Gil laughed, making Johnny laugh.
"So how did you handle it?" Johnny asked.
"I just remembered that that whole say was just for us and no one else. Just focus on her and remember what you're going to say. And don't worry too much about remembering, it'll come to you because I know you both wrote your own vows. Just go with the flow for the day and all will turn out smoothly." Gil said.
"Thanks Gil." Johnny said.
"No problem bro, now you best get out there, the bride should be about ready to walk." Gil said. Johnny nodded and stood and walked out of the room with Gil. Soon he was standing at the alter with his friend Bo next to him and his other friends in a line beside Bo. The music started and everyone that was sitting stood as the doors opened to allow Sissy and her father to walk, the flower girls trailing and dropping little petals as she walked. Johnny would always say Sissy was beautiful, but that day seemed to outshine even the days when she was the fullest pregnant with his twins. The dress was traditional white, with a sweetheart neckline. The bodice fit to her figure perfectly, and from the hips down the dress flowed into loose ruffles that layered down. And from what Johnny could see, the train on the dress was a good five feet back. The veil was white lace that went both in front and back, the back going down to her waist.
They reached the steps and Johnny went down to get her as her father handed her off and took his seat.
"You may be seated." The priest said with a smile. Everyone took their seats and once they quieted down, the ceremony began.
"We are gathered here today to witness the union of these two young souls in holy matrimony. They have taken the time to write their own vows, so we will begin this with the groom." The priest said. Johnny took a deep breath and remembered to speak clearly with what he said.
"Sissy, we've not always been friends, any number of family and friends can attest to that fact, but since you've come back into my life I've never been happier. You've brought back all the fun and adventure that was missing, despite me helping the government, it just seemed boring and dull around this city until you returned. Summer camp those years ago was the best time of my life, mostly because I got to spend it with you and get to know you more. It wasn't until then that I realized I loved you more than I even knew. You're an honest and kind hearted woman. And though we may not have started out as friends, you've become not only one of my best friends, you've become a lover and the mother to my children and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you." Johnny said with a smile as she blushed and tried desperately not to cry, her friends already a lost cause.
"And now the bride will say her vows." The priest said. Sissy took a deep breath and calmed herself. What Johnny had said almost made her cry with joy.
"Johnny, we've known each other since childhood and though I may never had expressed it then, I encouraged you to do the best you could at anything, and I still do. I was overwhelmed with joy and exhaustion when I returned to Porkbelly because I would be with my friends and I would get to make things clear with you about the day before I left. I remember all the times we literally saved each other at summer camp because of all the bullies that were merely jealous of what we had and have now. The years I spent away I realized how deeply I cared about you, how much I truly loved you. You've gone from being an annoying conceited boy to hardworking, honest, devoted man. In the time that we knew each other and grew to know and love each other, not only have I found one of my best friends, but I have found a lover, and a great father who would do anything for his children's happiness and wellbeing and anything for me in helping to raise them and I too look forward to staying with you the rest of my life." Sissy said, somehow just barely containing her tears.
The priest continued on with the ceremony, no one completely paying attention to what he was saying. He called for the rings and ring bearer.
"Do you Johnny take Sissy to be you lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?" the priest asked.
"I do." Johnny said as he slid the ring on her finger.
"And do you Sissy take Jonathan to be you lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?" the priest asked.
"I do." Sissy said as she slid the ring on his finger.
"Then by the power vested in me, I now declare you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." The priest said. Johnny smiled and leaned down to kiss her, clapping and camera flashes went off around them madly. Once breaking apart, the rest of the reception, even the toasts, all went by in a blur, they had never been happier except for when their son and daughter were born.
"Don't worry dear, we took care of you for eighteen years, we can handle two babies for a week, have fun on your honeymoon." Sissy's mother said with a smile.
"Thanks again mom." Sissy said as they got in Johnny's car.
"So where did your sisters give a honeymoon too?" Sissy asked as they headed towards the airport.
"The Bahamas." Johnny chuckled as the sun set on the most perfect day.
A fluffy chapter. I half debated using the typical vows used at weddings, but I know that some people like to write their own vows and I could see this couple doing that . Like I said above, keep a look out for the next chapter I put up today. R&R please and thank you.
