So hey, it's been a while but I'm finally falling back into the writing groove so here you go.

The next day Caroline waited in her car in the school parking lot until the bell rang. She managed to avoid all Cullen's until lunch when she passed the cafeteria window. Taking a quick glance inside she saw them, all of them. From her side of the glass she could read Edward's lips as he said one thing.

"She knows."

Caroline gave a slight nod, keeping her face a stone mask, showing none of the fear that ate at her insides. She kept walking, feeling his eyes on her until she was out of range. Then she ran. As fast as she could she ran to her car, throwing the door open and hoping in. The whole ride home she looked over her shoulder but no one followed. She pulled into her garage and let out a breath she didn't realize she had been holding. She felt like she was going to be sick.

Call Sam, her mind chanted it and she found herself running to the phone. She dialed his number and tried to calm herself by counting the rings. It rang three times before he answered.

"Hello?" Sam's voice was gruff and professional.

"Sam it's Caroline."

His voice changed to a soft and sweet tone. "Hey what's up?"

"They know I know. I don't know how but they do." The line was quiet. "Sam?"

"I'll be over in ten minutes."

He was over in nine. Her eyes hadn't left the clock since he had hung up. She opened the door before he was able to knock and Sam pulled her tightly into his arms. He breathed in her scent, safe. Closing the front door behind hm, he kept his arm wrapped around her waist. His eyes surveyed her living room, this was the first time he had been to her house, before guiding her to the couch and sitting her down.

"How do they know?" Sam asked her, business first as always. Caroline looked up at him and behind her determined eyes there was a flash of fear.

"I don't know. I saw them in the lunch room at school and I saw him tell his siblings 'she knows' then they all looked at me. After that I kind of just booked it out of there." She admitted sheepishly. Her hands fiddled with the hem of her shirt. Without realizing it her breathing picked up.

"Hey, hey." Sam pulled her into his arms again as she hyperventilated into his shirt. "It's ok babe. They won't hurt you. They wouldn't risk breaking the treaty." He kissed the top of her head.

"I know." Her voice was muffled my his shirt so she pulled away and looked him in the eyes. "It's just a little scary. I'm not like you or Paul or Jared. I'm human, ya know?"

"Oh are you now?" Sam teased, trying to lighten the mood. "All this time I thought you were a witch. Or maybe a siren of some kind."

His efforts worked. Caroline gave him a laugh and nudged his chest with her elbow. "If only I was. Life would be so much simpler."

They both laughed for a moment before staring at each other with simple smiles. Caroline raised her palm to Sam's cheek and he nudged his face into it. The motion was very wolf.

"So this is your house, huh?" He asked her dryly. "Want to give me the grand tour?"

"Well here is the living room." Sam looked around the gray room at the pictures on the wall and the simple furnishings. "If you look slightly to your left you'll see the kitchen. Down the hall is my moms room."

"Is your room upstairs?" He asked her.

She raised her eyebrows and gave him a wry grin. "You want to see my room?"

"Yes." Sam had a mental image of what he imagined Caroline's room looking like. Caroline rose from the couch and Sam stood, pulling her to him. She looked into his eyes and felt so safe. He bent his head down to hers, closing his eyes before their lips met. Just like the first time, fireworks exploded and Sam was floored at the power of the imprint. His hands moved to her waist and he pulled her against him, she moaned with this action. Their hands explored each others bodies and he slowly started to lift her shirt when he smelt it.

Like bleach it burnt his nose and he broke their kiss, pulling her closer into him.

"Sam what's-" She was cut off by a knock on the door.

Sam's words were like gravel. "One of them."

He reached the door at a nonhuman speed, flinging it open. Rosalie Hale stood in the doorway, her arms crossed and an unamused look on her beautiful face. She looked over Sam's shoulder at Caroline, who was still standing by the couch, before meeting the eyes of the snarling man in front of her.

"Careful Sam, wouldn't want to break any treaties." Her voice was like music to Caroline and daggers to Sam. "Besides, I'm here for your benefit."

"What could a leech possibly do to benefit me?" Sam growled.

"My brother's sudden obsession with your imprint? I'm guessing you might want some information on that?" Rosalie cut straight to the point. When Sam said nothing she continued. "He's never taken this kind of interest in a human. Normally I would stay out of his business but not when it would do damage to a human. And trust me, he intends to do damage."

"What kind of damage?" Caroline gulped from her new position behind Sam's shoulder.

"He thinks he's in love with you. He wishes to turn you." Caroline felt herself choke on bile. The silence from Sam was worse than any noise could be. "We all thought this notion would just pass but then I found this."

In her polished hand Rosalie held a familiar shirt. "That's mine."

Caroline opened her mouth but Sam spoke first. "Was he in her room?"

"It appears so."

Caroline rushed down the hall. "I'm gonna be sick."

"Sam." Rosalie spoke and Sam turned his head sharply from Caroline's retreating figure back to her. "She'll need protection. I don't know what my brother is planning but it's something and it's something horrible. I'm willing to help."

"Why would you help us?"

"I have my reasons and you're in no position to question them." Rosalie bit back. "If one of your Pack can't be with her I will. She'll need someone at all times. Edward is smart. If he see's a hole he'll take it, don't doubt that."

Sam stared at her, trying to find a lie in her eyes. He found none. "Fine. For her."

Rosalie nodded before turning away. Sam called after her. "Meet us at the treaty line at one to discuss a plan of action. And if he harms her in anyway, I'll kill him."

"If he harms her in anyway I'll help you."
