Gail bounced into the locker room with a wide grin on her face .."good morning ladies"
Traci looked at Andy who shared the same unsure look, then back to Gail "Ok who are you and what have you done with Gail Peck?"
Gail laughed shaking her head "what I can't just be in a good mood?"
"No" Andy and Traci said in unison.
Gail rolled her eyes poking her tongue out "enjoy it while it lasts"
"Morning" Chloe smiled as she entered the room
"And now it's gone" Gail groaned causing Traci to shove her playfully
"So does anyone have a hang over"? Chloe asked
All 3 of the other women shook their heads
"We better get to parade" Andy groaned
"Ok! Gail and I will be right behind you" Traci smiled holding Gail's arm
"Ok spill"? Traci smiled making sure they were alone "what's got you smiling? And don't give me the "I'm just in a good mood"
Gail smiled "Holly isn't dating Luck"
"Ok, and that means what?"
Gail shook her head "it means Holly isn't seeing anybody,Luck told me last night that Holly digs me"
Traci rolled her eyes "I coulda told you that, so what are you going to do about it"?
Gail gave her a wicked smile "I going to show the good Doctor that I'm not some bi-curious weirdo that wants or needs a "crutch" as she put it"
Traci grinned clapping her hands together "and how are you going to do that"?
"That would be telling Detective"Gail laughed pushing Traci toward the door "c'mon we'll be late"

Holly entered her office struggling with a pile of paperwork " Rodney"? She called out " can you flip the lights for me"?
Rodney flipped the lights with a smile "that box arrived for you this morning" he smiled again pointing to what looked like a gift box
Holly dumped the paperwork on the couch "what is it"?
Rodney shrugged "one way to find out" he said before leaving the Doctor alone.
Holly stood staring at box with her hands on her hips , maybe it was a "no hard feelings" gift from Luck" she thought as she took a seat at her desk sliding the box in front of her .
As she analysed the box a little closer she wondered why there was no card ? No indication of who sent it .
"It won't open itself" Rodney stated as she appeared at the door "Detective Peck is here" he added
Holly nodded "I'll be right out "she smiled as she slowly took hold of the box "just open it Stewart" she said to herself as she lifted the box.
There inside was a single purple rose And a test tube
Holly smiled smelling the Rose then frowned as she picked up the test tube , underneath it was the card which read
The test tube is re-useable, I hear nerds use them a lot... Oh and the Rose is to say I'm an idiot and you're defiantly not a "crutch" xx
Ps... If you happen to keep the Rose you could use the test tube as a vase ... Just sayin.
Holly couldn't help but smile, she knew who it was from, and even though she was angry at Gail she couldn't help but think it was a sweet thing to do ..
"Flowers? Very nice" Steve smiled leaning on the door frame.
"Steve"? Hi" Holly greeted him placing the Rose into the test tube then filling it with water
"Some one has a crush"! Steve said pointing to the flower
Holly smiled "oh.. Uh it's no one"
Steve frowned "no one"? Someone sends you a purple flower and it's no one"?
"What do you mean"? Holly asked confused
"Well there are so many types of Roses, Red is typically a Valentine thing right? White usually symbolises: Sympathy, purity or you see them at weddings,. Who ever sent you that Rose sent you purple for a reason"
Holly looked even more confused more so at why Steve would even know about this kinda stuff "Ok Mr florist enlighten me"
Steve grinned and let out a little chuckle as he took the test tube from Holly's hand "The purple rose is a sign of enchantment and love at first sight , This Rose is from someone who wants to express their romantic feelings and intentions toward you Doc" he smiled .. That oh so familiar smile also worn by the very same person who sent the Rose .
"How the hell do you know all this"? Holly laughed
"I've had to do my fair share of grovelling, I once got Traci purple flowers .. Worked like a charm" he winked
"Well you Pecks are nothing if not charming" Holly smiled taking back the test tube placing it in her pencil holder on her desk .
Steve looked at Holly wondering what she meant "You Pecks"?
"shell we go over this case" Holly laughed handing him the case file
Steve wasn't sure what Holly meant but let it go anyways ...

Toronto was pretty quiet come the afternoon, Gail was sat in the squad car waiting for Chloe to grab them lunch when her phone vibrated
"How hard is it to remember my order"? she moaned to herself thinking it was a text from Chloe
As she opened her phone she didn't recognise the number ..
If you think I'm easily pleased by a flower then you're wrong.. Oh and test tubes? Really ?
Gail laughed hard reading the text and then again ,finally the Good Doctor had used her number, she after all had it for a while now .. Gail quickly typed back as she sees Chloe approaching
Well I'm not really that in touch with my inner nerd so?..And if the flower doesn't please you what will?
Chloe got into the car passing Gail her order " Gail can you not just order a simple sandwich? The guys always look at me like I'm strange when I feed them your order "?
Gail shook her head "no they don't price, they look at you like your strange because you are! and as I'm the driver that makes you the goofer now stop moaning"
Chloe saluted her partner before tucking into her lunch
Gail couldn't help but grin when she felt her phone go off again
"Oooooooo who's that"? Chloe swoons
"No one" Gail snaps back
"Since when was Holly called no one"
Gail spun around to face her cheerful passenger "just because my phone beeps doesn't mean it's any one important ,and even if it was? It's none of your business ... And Chloe I will kill you"
Chloe chokes on her soda" Gail you're so funny sometimes, I think it's sweet and hey? Holly is a stone cold fox ,even I fancy her"
Gail looked disgusted at her partner " you are a really really weird human being"
"Thank you" Chloe smiled nudging Gail playfully .
Gail was itching to read her message but didn't want Chloe to ask any more questions .. She would wait till she's on her own ,which was starting to feel like forever ...

Steve walked in Traci's office looking at her intensely
"You ok"? She asked
He shuts the door before taking a seat on the couch "so I just had my meeting with Doctor Stewart" he states
"Ok" Traci nods not really understanding why Steve was acting strangely
"Yu...p "he nods "you know she's a real nice lady, so nice in fact someone's sending her flowers"
Traci leans back in her chair trying not to smile all the while thinking. "Good for you Gail"
"And not just any flowers, No..Pe, someone is sending her purple flowers, A Rose to be precise, you remember when I sent you purple roses trace"?
Traci smiled "I do and they were very beautiful Steve"
"Mmmm and when I mentioned how I had sent you the very same flower and how they worked like a charm, Holly then stated how "You Pecks" are nothing if not charming"
"Well she is right baby, you are very charming" Traci laughed
Steve stood looking out the window on to the bull pen just as his sister and Chloe entered it..
"She didn't say me, she said "you pecks" so Its kinda got me thinking , who does "You pecks" refer to"? I'm assuming my mother and father are not sending Holly purple Roses and Im defiantly not...so who does that leave"?
Traci wrapped her arms around his waist kissing his cheek "you're such a good detective baby"
Steve looked down at his sister "she's got the Hots for Holly"?
Traci placed her hands on both Steve's shoulders giving them a squeeze "I would advise you to keep your nose well and truly out of her business, if you know what's good for you"?
Steve laughed"can I at least tease her"?
"No" Traci answered sternly ..

"Chloe don't you have unicorns to go and save" Gail said sarcastically
"Unicorns"?
"Yeah or what ever it is you princess's do when you finish work"? Gail sighed
"Point taken" Chloe smiled as she got off her chair to leave "I guess now I'm going ..you can read your text from Holly"? She giggled
"Go and die price "Gail calls out throwing a pen at the giggling cop...
Once Chloe had gone she pulled her phone out ...
Well the test tube did double up as a vase, thank you for the flower .
"What the "? Gail sulked "all afternoon I waited to read that "?
"Read what"? Traci asked as she sat next to her
"Nothing"Gail sulked
"Purple Roses huh"? Traci whispered "very nice"
Gail frowned "what"?
"C'mon Gail .. I know it was you" Traci said rolling her eyes "and so does Steve "
"You told Steve"? Great my life is over" Gail said throwing her head back "I didn't! He worked it out himself when he was down at the morgue but... I have warned him not tease you "
"Yeah cause that's gonna stop him, Gail sulked "anyways it doesn't matter because she wasn't impressed, Gail moaned holding her phone out for Traci to read, "ok so what's next"?
"I'm wasting my time"
Traci shook her head "this isn't the Gall Peck I saw this morning"? And it isn't the Gail Peck i know at all .. Because the Gail Peck I know doesn't quit"
Gail twiddled her thumbs "ok so she's making me work for it right"?
Traci smiled " work it girl .. Own it"

Holly agreed to meet Amy at the penny for a drink after work , she hoped their friendship would get past the whole kiss thing , she liked Amy .. She liked her company..
"Hey Doc "Amy called out from the bar " large white"?
"Thank you" Holly smiled taking a long pull on her wine "long day"? Amy smiled
"Boring one actually.. My day consist of case files and more case files "
"That sucks"Amy nodded "well at least it's over with hey"?
"Yeah, I'm gonna pop to the bathroom "
"Ok I'll grab a table" Amy said pointing across the bar ..
"Gail you can buy the first round tonight,"Dov said as the walked in to the penny
"Why me"?
"Because you have been round dodging for weeks and it hasn't gone unnoticed" Chris laughed
"What ever " Gail shrugged before heading to the bar "get all them losers their usual and I'll have a coke" she told the barman
"Coke"? Traci frowned
"Yeah" Gail snapped "you ok with that"?
Traci held her hands up in surrender "oh look lively" she giggled noticing Holly . What".. Gail said turning around coming face to face with Holly "Hi"
Holly smiled "hi"
"Hi" Gail repeated
"You said that already"Holly smiled
"Yeah well it sounded familiar "Gail shrugged "drink"? I mean uh .. Can I uh get you a drink"? Can I buy you a drink"?
Holly shook her head "I already have one... but thanks "
Gail watched as Holly walked away in the direction of Luck
"Why can't that women just get lost" she moaned as she paid for the drinks .
Gail stood watching Holly waiting for her drinks to arrive , Amy was doing her best to annoy her she was sure of it , what could Holly possibly be finding so funny ? Gail wondered as she sees Holly laughing .. Not just to humouring Amy.. but actually laughing like she was enjoying herself . "Hey Tom, she says turning to the barman
"It's Todd " the barman sulks pointing to his name badge "Todd"
"Whatever" Gail shrugs "you see the brunette behind me ? Sat with that really annoying cop"? Put her drinks on my tab ok"?
Todd looked over at Holly the one with the glasses?
Gail nodded
"no problem "
Gail joined the rest of the group rolling her eyes at Dov who was trying to justify his last few defeats at Trivia " it was a fluke ,we all have bad days ok"
"Dude face it , Chloe is better at your own game then you are" Andy laughed
"I doubt it" Dov sulks ..
"Your game is lame, so are you and so is your girlfriend "Gail bitched
"Agreed"nick smiled "can't we have a night without your quiz "?
"It's trivia, not a quiz" Dov protested
"I like it" Chloe grinned behind her straw
"For god sakes" Gail moaned "Chloe if you weren't as boring as your boyfriend you might just be slightly bearable"
Chloe gave Gail her "I love you to Gail look" which made Gail screw her face up "ok now I need alcohol"

Amy returned to the table with fresh drinks " Amy you really don't have to buy my drinks all night , we should take it on turns "
"No need" Amy laughs " besides these are courteous of Gail Peck"?
Holly frowned" Gail brought us a drink"?
"Well... Gail has added all your drinks to her tab, so I saw an opportunity " Amy laughs
Holly's jaw fell open "Amy we can't do that"
"Why not"?
"Because... It's just not right"?
"Holly .. Live a little" Amy moans
Holly shook her head "I would rather pay for my own drinks" she sighs getting up towards the bar .
"Hi can I pay for those last two drinks please"?
"Your drinks were already paid for ma'am " Todd smiled
"yes I know but I would rather pay for my own"
"What my offer to by you a couple of drinks isn't good enough"? Came a familiar voice from behind ..
Holly didn't look around "I'm having a drink with Amy, Gail.. so I would rather buy my own .. Thank you "
Gail leaned her back on to the bar looking at Holly "so you refuse my drinks and your not impressed with my test tube joke and the Rose didn't convince you .. so what will "?
"Gail" Holly sighed
"What I think it's a fair question"? Gail smiled
"I can't do this with you right now" Holly said shaking her head
"Ok" Gail nods leaning into Holly's personal space " I guess i just have to work a little harder huh"? She whispers into Holly's ear causing her to breath to hitch
Holly took a moment to compose herself before heading back to Amy .
Gail sat smiling running her tongue across her bottom lip
"Smug much"? Traci smiled
" Holly Stewart is just where I want her"
"Really"? Traci frowned unconvinced
