Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque

Sam steps out of a cab in front of the mosque and takes in the crowd gathering in the square. He pulls on the strap from his backpack and starts walking towards the spot where he had found Deeks a few days ago. Callen had pulled up in cab a couple minutes prior on the other side of the courtyard. The plan is simple- Sam will walk around the courtyard in the area where hopefully he'll see or draw out one of Nahili's men. It's one of the riskiest and dumbest plans they've ever had planned, but Sam's desperate and Callen's only along for the ride to keep an eye on Sam.

Sam stops halfway across the courtyard and scans the area around him. The two closest groups to him are a family posing with the mosque in the background and a group of young male students laughing and eating local snacks as they pass Sam. Sam makes a complete 360 turn before he sighs loudly, "Damn it. I don't see anyone."

"Well, keep looking," Callen says through the earpiece in Sam's ear. "They'll either look for you and Deeks here or around the hospital. Just stay in my eye line no matter who you see. We don't have that much time before Hetty gets here or Kensi and Deeks both wake up and realize that we aren't setting up for Hetty in one of the conference rooms. I see you…head to the west."

"Got it." Sam moves to his right towards the mosque and begins carefully scanning every face that he passes. He catches a glimpse of a man in a crisp suit and tie, but immediately brushes him off when the man walks over to a woman and kisses her. The agent continues walking towards the mosque main entrance until a faintly familiar figure catches his attention.

"I see someone," Sam narrows his eyes at the figure fifty yards away, who is thumbing through a pamphlet near the entrance. Sam quickly bends down to pretend to tie his shoes and calls out in a lower voice to Callen, "He's by the entrance looking through a pamphlet. I can't exactly place him to be in one of the pictures Deeks took or if he was at the hospital. "

"Stay back and I'll be there in a minute-"

Sam glances up quickly to see the man pocket his pamphlet and walk through the entrance. The agent can feel himself slipping deeper and deeper into his irrational, panicked state. Every step the man takes further away from him is another step away from his wife coming home safetly. "G, I'm going after him."

"Sam, do not go after him until I'm there. Let's take him down together and not in a crowded building!" Callen yells. Sam looks up again before standing up and walking into the mosque entrance. He pushes past another couple and steps into the stunningly beautiful mosque. Sam also pulls out his earpiece and pockets it- I'm sorry, G, but I'm going to do this part on my own.

Less than fifty yards away, Callen curses under his breath when Sam doesn't answer his calls. He had been able to spot his muscular partner rather easy in the crowd until now. He had only agreed to follow Sam's plan because he knew that Sam would have gone off and done something stupid if they hadn't had created a plan within the next twenty minutes or so.

Now with Sam out of sight, Callen's really regretting not tying Sam down to a chair on a back room until they could have made an actual plan.

He's got to be in the foyer, Callen thinks before jogging towards the mosque entrance. As he slips through the doorway and into the white and gold marble decorated foyer with his hand on his waist near his hidden Sig, Callen walks as calmly as he can towards the center of the foyer with every hope of spotting Sam. The only thing that catches his attention is the slightly ajar door at the opposite side of the foyer. He pauses and, as if on cue, a younger Arabic man in white button down and black slacks suddenly walks near the door, catches Callen's gaze and then gives the agent a smile.

A smug smile that seems to taunt I know who you are.

So without a thought, Callen takes off towards the man, pushing a tour guide out of the way in the process. He lunges at the man and rams him into a nearby column. The man chuckles as Callen presses his arm against the man's throat.

"Who the hell are you?" Callen growls, completely ignoring the attention he's getting from the other visitors in the foyer. "What are you doing here?"

"I thought Agent Hanna would at least put up a fight instead of stupidly walking into a trap," the man sneers. Callen follows the man's gaze over to the still ajar door and whispers, "Don't they teach you not to walk into places alone at NCIS, Agent Callen?"

"Shut up- wait, how do you know our names?" Callen gasps.

"There's no way in hell that I'll tell you. Seeing as security will be here any second and it'll take you forever to explain that you're an agent, I won't have to."

Callen looks over his shoulder to see three security guards running up to him with Tasers and radios in hand. The man chuckles and says a smart ass remark that'll earn him a hard punch to the stomach right after, "Too easy."
