It had been 3 days since Holly received the bouquet of flowers, the Cyrus thing had kept her awake at night , causing Gail to worry constantly. Holly was still refusing to make a statement which had Gail sulking ..

"Lunchbox? I'm hungry,I got hit with a slushy by some little brat this afternoon and I've been stuck with Chloe all day" Gail grumbled as she entered the lab I just wanna go home, so you ready?

Holly gave her girlfriend one of her famous lopsided smiles " awww honey"

"I know! Life couldn't get any worse" Gail sulked as she slumped down on to a near by chair " and my hair is sticky " she added running her hand over the top of her head ..

Holly nodded " just let me print this file off and i'll be good to go"

Gail swung from side to side on the chair with a nod .. As Holly opened the door to her office, the bouquet caught the cops attention " uh who's buying you flowers? .. She asked getting up to follow the pathologist " expensive ones at that"?

Holly tensed up a little keeping her back to Gail " oh uh no one"? she lied ..

"No one"? Gail frowned running her hand across the petals .

"I mean no one important" Holly quickly said " ok so let's get out of here"

Gail narrowed her eyes looking at Holly " no one important brought you very expensive bunch of flowers?"

Holly had a long day and the two of them had finally stopped arguing about the whole statement thing , so the last thing she wanted was to start it all up again ..

"Lunchbox "? The blonde pushed

"There from the guys who work here " Holly said with a shrug, hating herself for lying " just some higher ups making themselves feel better"

Gail nodded "why didn't you just say that? C'mon I'm hungry"

Holly felt a sense of relief that Gail shrugged the conversation off "so what are we eating?"

" a horse will do" Gail joked as they headed home ..

After they had eaten Holly sat on the sofa with a glass of wine while Gail paced up and down the kitchen on the phone to Steve, Holly couldn't really make out what the call was about but knew she was about to find out by the way Gail was watching her . " ok yeah thanks Steve, I'll see you tomorrow" she finished as she ended the call ..

Holly took a deep breath as Gail entered the living room " so Tyrell West's body is being signed off to go back to his family " she informed the brunette with a sigh .. Holly just nodded pretending to read the journal she grabbed hold of " that's good"

"Yup" Gail said popping the P " really good, means you shouldn't get anymore unwelcome visitors"

Holly rolled her eyes " that's good too"

" you know someone has to sign for his release, if you make a statement we...

"No" Holly interrupted " give it up Gail, I'm not making a statement "

"Why" Gail said raising her voice.

Holly got up off the sofa to refill her wine glass " Gail please don't do this, we've spoke about it and I'm not changing my mind"

Gail sighed " this is fucked up, you're crazy"

Holly shrugged picking up her wine" it's been a long day, I'm going for a bath" .

And just like that the conversation was over and Gail stood alone fuming that for the hundredth time Holly had cut her off ..

Holly lay in the bath with her eyes closed, the warm water mixed with the beautiful scent of mango bubbles, the dim light from two burning candles and the soft music coming from the iPod docking station relaxed the doctor to an almost sleepy state, only to be brought back to the now by the feel of the blonde cop slipping into the tub with her , Holly opened one eye " can I help you"? She smirked

Gail moved slowly in the water pushing Holly's leg apart so she could rest in between them.. " I'm a jerk huh?

Holly titled her head but didn't answer , Gail lay on top of the doctor Playing with the pendant around her neck " I know I am, and I know I push you and for that I'm sorry! "

Holly smiled wrapping her long legs around the blondes waist " are my ears deceiving me or did Gail Peck just apologies"? She giggled .. Gail rolled her eyes " yeah yeah ok whatever!"

Holly laughed kissing the top of Gail's head " Let's not fight "

Gail smiled scrapping her teeth across her bottom lip "ok let's skip the fighting and get to the make up sex! ?"

Monday morning blues hit Holly hard, her work load was looking heavy and Gail offered to take Andy's night shift for her, which meant had to sleep alone for the first time since they got together..

"Wow Gail really did push the boat out" Traci grinned pointing to the bouquet of flowers as she entered Holly's office .

"What?.. Holly was a little startled not expecting anyone " oh hi...no uh they aren't from Gail"

"Oh" Traci frowned " does she know someone's buying you expensive flowers "?

Holly smiled " she knows and they are from my bosses " again the doctor lied

Traci nodded " ok so I have some paper work here for Tyrell West, I need you to sign it off so we can get him out your way"

Holly swallowed " oh uh yeah sure"

"You ok", Traci frowned noticing Holly looked a little down " you and Gail aren't fighting are you"?

Holly shook her head " no! God no things are great with us... It's just Monday blues... Is that the paper work"? She asked changing the subject ..

Traci handed the file over and sat while Holly skimmed through the pages stopping at the dead teens address .. She stared for a few moments then turned to the detective " Traci who tells the family? .. I mean how do you do it? Do you call? Write? Visit ?"

Traci shrugged " I'll send an officer over "

Holly nodded staying silent for a little while longer then what would be classed as normal " Hols are you sure you're ok"!?

Holly sighed " this case has got to me"

"Well it would do considering you were held at knife point by his brother " Traci said carefully knowing the whole incident was a sore subject ..

Holly shook her head " it's more then that, I mean it is Cyrus West!

"Because of what he did"? Traci asked

"No..it's him, the things he said, the way he looked at me, the pain in his eyes" Holly said feeling emotional

Traci looked down at her feet " ahh Hols she sighed " I get it, sometimes the victim feels bad for their ...

"No" Holly snapped " it's not that Traci. For me it's deeper then that, I think he panicked, I think he just wanted his brother back, like if he could take him home things would be ok"

"Is that why you wouldn't make a statement " Traci asked

" what is jail gonna do for him? For his mother? She's already lost one son" Holly took a deep breath " can I tell you something and it stays between us"?

Traci nodded " you mean Gail isn't to know"?

Holly nodded " the flowers, they're not from my boss, they are from Cyrus West" she explained handing Traci the card that came with the bouquet ... Traci read it slowly " wow"!

" can I ask you something else"?

Traci narrowed her eyes " go on"!

Holly shifted a little in her seat , adjusting her glasses even though they didn't need adjusting " would you allow me to inform the family Tyrell is ready to go home"?

"What"? Traci almost choked " no.. No way! Gail would kill me"

Holly jumped off her seat " Gail doesn't have to know. We can keep if between us"

Traci still shaking her head " Holly the guy coulda killed you, he should be in jail. And Gail is fuming you haven't pressed charges. There is no way I can let you go "

"Please"? Holly begged again, i need to see him, to talk to him, I need ..don't know ... Closure maybe", she rambled ..

Traci sighed heavily she could see the desperation in her friends eyes " Gail will kill us if she knew"

Holly shrugged " I won't tell if you don't"!
