"How does your best friend have this much energy all the time? She's back at work now, has a baby, and has to deal with Jesse! I don't understand!"
"There are just some things you shouldn't question, B. Aubrey is clearly wonder-woman, because she can do it all. Just accept it; I did years ago." Chloe stated from her spot on the sofa.
They were both currently watching the blonde speed clean their living room after hosting Chloe's baby shower and Aubrey was definitely not showing any signs of slowing down.
"How are you feeling, Chlo? It's been a long day." Beca asked as she rubbed the redhead's thigh.
"I feel great actually. A little tired, but it was wonderful to see everyone."
"I can't believe the amount of stuff we now have for the twins. This is insane."
"Well apparently that's what happens when your wife is a superstar DJ." Chloe said with a soft smile.
"I still can't believe that Marshall, The Carters, and the head of the label all sent gifts since they couldn't be here."
"And I can't believe that Ke$ha was here. That was definitely unexpected and fabulous." Chloe said with a smile.
"Yeah, I don't think she'll be forgetting her encounter with Fat Amy anytime soon." Beca said with a laugh.
"Hey, to be fair, you did warn all of the artists who came to be aware of a loud Aussie who can be highly inappropriate."
"Yeah, but I don't think she was expecting a lap dance from said highly intoxicated Australian to one of her own songs." Beca pointed out as Chloe stifled a laugh at the image replaying in her head.
"Yeah, I don't think any of us were expecting that. Ke$ha got a great laugh out of it though."
"Yeah, I guess. It'll be interesting to see what she says at the label in a few weeks when we start working on our next song."
"I'm sure she'll just start laughing again." Chloe said as she started laughing again.
"Did you hear what Cynthia Rose asked her?" Beca asked as she started to chuckle.
"No! What?"
"She said 'Hey Amy, didn't think you dug the ladies!' and she said 'Eh, when in Tazzy!' She was beyond drunk."
"How did she get that drunk anyways?" Chloe asked suddenly.
"Yeah, who serves drinks other than champagne at a baby shower?" Beca asked slowly, looking over at Aubrey who was trying to move one of the couches back by herself.
"Don't look at me, Mitchell. She decided to pre-drink with some of the girls before they got here; she showed up plastered."
"Yeah, that sounds about right." Beca and Chloe both agreed.
"So do you need help bringing all of this stuff up to the nursery?" Chloe asked as she, Beca, and Aubrey all sat down on the couches, talking about the day.
"Not from you, we don't." Beca said strictly, as Aubrey nodded along. "A Mr. Jesse Swanson has offered to help me with that. He's coming over with Lauren in a bit, right Bree?"
"He is. So he and Beca can move everything while Chloe and I chat and have Lauren cuddles." Aubrey said with a smile.
"I can't believe how much stuff we got. We definitely don't need to do any shopping for the twins things." Beca said, looking around at the mountains of boxes and baby clothes.
"Aubrey, I cannot thank you enough for putting this all together. It was fabulous, thank you." Chloe said sincerely as Beca slowly smiled next to her.
"What kind of best friend would I be if I didn't do this for you! I'm glad it turned out well."
"Are you kidding? With a Posen in charge of this shindig, it was guaranteed to turn out well." Beca said with a knowing smirk.
"Well I certainly wasn't going to leave it up to your shorty wife; nothing would've ever gotten planned." Aubrey said to Chloe.
"That hurts, Bree. It cut me to the core." Beca said sarcastically with her hand over her heart as Chloe smiled and shook her head at their antics.
Aubrey picked up her phone to answer a call from her husband when she looked back at the couch where her two best friends were seated. Chloe was leaning into Beca, who had her arms around the redhead as best as she could.
The blonde saw Chloe's face light up and eyes close when Beca whispered something into her ear.
"You look amazing, baby. I can't wait to meet these little guys; I'm so happy that I get to do this with you. I love you." Beca said sincerely, kissing Chloe's temple once she was done talking.
The redhead smiled as she squeezed the brunette's thigh, turning her head a little bit so she could whisper something back.
"You're going to be a great mom, you know? I love you so much, B." She said, causing Beca to shoot her an equally great smile.
Those were the moments that Aubrey loved, the ones where Beca and Chloe were both completely unguarded, pretending that no one was around and just being themselves.
Back at Barden, it took months for the blonde to understand why her best friend would be dating such an alt-girl, but she definitely came around once she was able to observe a moment between the two that the brunette normally didn't let anyone else see.
After dating for about 9 months, Beca and Chloe had a longstanding coffee and muffin date every Wednesday morning at their favorite café on campus.
However, one morning, Beca waited for almost half an hour and had called and texted her girlfriend, but hadn't heard anything.
Normally, the redhead was on time or early, but if she was going to be late for some reason, she always let Beca know.
Beca quickly grabbed Chloe's usual and headed for the door, deciding to walk to Chloe and Aubrey's on campus apartment to check on the redhead.
After 10 minutes of walking over there, she knocked on the door, which was opened by a usually stressed out looking Aubrey.
"Hey, is Chlo here?" Beca asked as she stepped into their apartment.
"Her bedroom, she's sick. Been up for hours throwing up." The blonde explained as she headed back to the kitchen to finish making her friend some tea.
"What? Why didn't she call me?" Beca asked, demanding an answer from Aubrey,
"She didn't want to bother you, I guess." The blonde shrugged.
Beca set down the muffin and coffee and walked purposefully towards her girlfriend's room.
She knocked quietly on the door before making her way into Chloe's room.
"It's me." The brunette whispered as Chloe turned over to face her.
"Beca? What are you doing here?"
"You missed our coffee date, so I came by to make sure that you were okay."
"I'm so sorry, I completely forgot that today was Wednesday." The redhead said, looking apologetic.
"Hey, don't worry about it at all. You should've called me, I would've been here sooner." Beca explained as she slipped off her shoes and hopped onto Chloe's bed.
"B, I'm sick. You shouldn't be this close to me."
"Too late." The brunette said as she pulled her girlfriend into her arms, smiling as Chloe snuggled into her even more.
"Sing for me?" She asked in a quiet voice.
"Of course." Beca said, leaving a short kiss on Chloe's forehead before she started singing a song that she knew Chloe loved.
Little did they know, Aubrey was just about to open the door to deliver Chloe her tea when she heard Beca start singing 'Colors of the Wind' from Pocahontas.
Aubrey listened for a few more seconds with a smile before she turned back to the kitchen to finish making herself some coffee.
"The badass actually knows Chloe's favorite Disney song and is willing to sing it to her. I guess the munchkin isn't as bad as I thought." She said slowly as she grabbed her coffee mug out of the cabinet.
Aubrey was broken out of her trance when she heard the front door opening and saw her husband walk in, holding their daughter.
"Were you calling me while you were driving over here?" She asked unhappily.
"Hands-free, babe. I promise. Totally legal." He said with a smirk as he kissed her on the cheek and handed her Lauren.
"Hi Chlo, Beca, baby Mitchells." He said with a smile and nod, "Alright Mitchell, you ready to move some of this stuff?" He asked his best friend as she hopped off the couch.
"Definitely." She said with a smile, leaning down to give Chloe one last kiss before she went off and started moving baby things upstairs to the nursery.
