Ara, ara. I'm sorry for not uploading anything. I've been in sort of a slump lately, reading fanfics and what not, but thanks to those who have been reviewing or those who have read this and not said anything. It really makes me happy to know someone is taking the time to read this! Well, time to get started! I don't own anything you recognize in this story.
She could feel her skin burning, as if she had just placed her palm on a red-hot stove. Thick smoke filled her lungs and no amount of coughing would clear her airways. It hurt so much to breath. Red-hot nails as sharp as daggers shredded at her none-existent flesh, burning it to ash repeatedly.
Voices were screaming in her head but she could not hear through the agonizing pain.
"-ula!"
"Stop! Alaula!"
Oh if she could, it hurt so much. Tears burned her eyes. The girl didn't know how much more she could take. A slight burning sensation stung at her check, it felt like ice compared to the rest of her, and with it the sudden realization of her current delusion.
With a cry the blackness and excruciating hell shattered.
Falling backwards, Alaula barely noticed any sort of discomfort from her landing, to preoccupied and extremely grateful that she was still in one piece. She stared at her eyes, taking in their form as a light color and completely whole. Her skin was not turning to ash or melting to goo.
"Alaula?"
The witch finally remembered the other three people in the room with her, observing her shivering form with concerned faces. A small expression of fear running through their eyes.
The grey-haired girl sighed in relief, turning her attention towards her clients she said "It's not pretty."
"What happened?" Sam asked to her right.
"I-I'm not entirely sure myself." Alaula confessed, "There was a black space, an empty void of darkness, and this o-overwhelming sensation." She swallowed, "I-it was too much."
"What was?" Tucker inquired, his PDA gripped tightly in his hand. Alaula spared him a glance before turning to Danny, just a faint trace of color returning to his face. He looked back at her, his eyes showing exactly what she thought.
Sighed, the witch brought herself to her feet. "I believeā¦.." She began, "I believe the spirit whose core you hold was the ghost warrior known as Spectrum Dei."
Sam raised an eyebrow, "Spectrum Dei? Who's that?"
Tucker looked up from his PDA, "I don't have mention of a Spectrum Dei anywhere."
Alaula responded with, "That's because we don't know her real name."
The goth's expression turned angry, "So this "Spectrum Dei is the one hurting Danny."
Danny quickly jumped in, "So where do we find her?"
At this the young witch frowned, "I'm not sure."
"What do you mean!"
"W-well you see," She stuttered, a panicked look on her face "Dei vanished after sealing the entryway into the ghost zone in 1968. When she didn't return afterwards everyone assumed she was destroyed. That level of sealing requires a great deal of power, too much for a single ghost to produce."
"But," She started.
"Yeah?" Tucker enquired, suddenly feeling a bit uneasy about the whole situation.
Two shadowy figures quickly made their way through the short, green foliage, a flame of determination burning fiercely within one and dull, unfeeling thoughts in the other.
"Ready Michiyo?" The taller of the two asked, eyes glancing over to their companion.
The other nodded slowly.
"I-I've heard rumors about her strength, a ghost whose power was unparalleled to even a God. No one knows for sure just how powerful she was."
"There you go dear." The man chirped, setting the younger of the two next to a statue. "Do you remember what to do Michi?" He asked.
"Yes." the girl with lifeless eyes replied.
"Good, good."
"If she was this strong, how could this "Dei" simply vanish without a trace huh?" Sam inquired, watching the witch before her fiddle with her hands. The goth sparing a glance towards her ill friend.
Alaula bit her lip, "They say her strength came from her rather... unusual circumstances."
Tucker gave her a strange look, "Unusual how?"
Sam rolled her eyes, "How unusual could it be?"
"Especially for us." Danny added in.
"For two years the state of reality surrounding this particular area was rather unstable. Portals from other dimensions opened at random, strange accidents plaguing the town and even warps in reality."
"H-how is that possible?" Danny asked, wide-eyed along with his friends.
The man smiled, it was a warm and loving smile he had. "Don't worry Michi." He said to the girl, ruffling her ebony hair, "Nothing will happen to you. Not this time."
The girl gave the faintest of smiles.
"Whelp! Let's go!"
"GAH!"
"Danny!"
There was a sudden tug at his heart, pulling and ripping at his soul.
"Danny! What's going on?"
He could see Sam and Tucker's concerned faces, anything beyond that was starting to get fuzzy. Yet he could still make out Alaula's terrified expression, but just barely.
Spots of black began to cloud his vision, and it all ended.
"Michi?"
...
...
"Are you there Michi?"
...
...
"K-"
..."K-Kaz-zuki?"
"Michi!"
"Danny!"
"What the hell's wrong with him!"
"I think someone's one trying to take the foreign core!"
"What!"
"Stop it!"
"I'm trying! Someone's interfering with my magic!"
"Damnit!"
So many voices...
Who were they again?
...
...
Man that's pretty cruel of me to leave a cliffhanger like that.
I'm gonna go hide now. Please leave a review if you want.
