Fall Back in Love Eventually

-May 16, 2014; Turin, Italy-

It was day three of their Europe tour and the afternoon of their second show. They had just landed in Turin after a one hour, midday flight, and were all walking towards the bus that would take them to their hotel and then to the arena. Only, Tessa and Rami would be heading to a signing before they were sent off to the arena.

If it had been any other day, Tessa would have walked into the hotel room and waited quietly to be called down by whoever their minder of the day was. Though, after hearing the rumours that had been going around, she had something she needed to do. She pulled out her phone and smiled when the face of Fergal Devitt appeared on her phone screen.

"FaceTime?" he asked, his Irish accent only making her smile widen. "Christ, I must be in trouble!"

"When would you ever be in trouble?" she asked sarcastically with a light laugh.

"I can think of a few-"

His sentence was drowned out by Rami as he peeked over her shoulder to look at the screen and posed the question, "Who're you talking to?"

Tessa looked at his profile and was momentarily dumbstruck before she realised what he had asked.

"Ferg meet Rami. Rami this is the one, the only Prince Devitt."

"It's an honour," Fergal said in slight shock, clearly not expecting anyone, let alone Rami, to be with her. "I'd shake your hand if, you know, you weren't on the opposite side of the world."

"Likewise," Rami said, opting for a smile and thumbs up instead. "Sorry," he apologised, "I just interrupted your conversation."

"Yeah," Tessa pretended to be offended as she elbowed Rami out of the picture, "go away."

"Are you two...?"

Fergal asked his question when Rami was out of the frame but Tessa didn't even have to glance over her shoulder to know that Rami had heard it.

"No, Ferg," she said quietly watching as he pouted, causing her to roll her eyes. "I wanted to talk to you for a reason! And I think you know what it is."

"What's that?" He asked coyly but Tessa could see the smile he was fighting.

"Absolutely everyone is talking about it but no one has any actual word on what's going on."

"Love, I'm in Japan. I can't help you with anyone going on with your co-workers."

"Don't be smart with me," she warned him, unable to remove her own smile. "I pinkie promise," she raised her pinkie so that it was in the frame, "I won't tell anyone if you tell me what's going on."

"I can't say anything to anybo-"

"I'm not anybody, though, Ferg!" She whined. Rami laughed from across the room. "Please!"

"Okay, okay! Pretty much as soon as I've finished up my contract here they want me in developmental."

"I told you you were going to make it!" She said excitedly, jumping up and down on the spot. "I cannot wait until you're here! PAC is going to be chuffed when he hears the news!"

"Tessa," Fergal warned and Tessa pouted at him. "It's a secret."

"I know," she sighed. "I pinkie promise."

"I can't wait to be there either, Tess. I miss corrupting your innocence."

"There's nothing innocent about her!" Rami called from across the room causing Tessa to gape and Fergal to laugh loudly.

"Don't encourage him!" She whined over her shoulder. "He's as bad as Alex."

"I learnt from the master," Fergal reminded her and Tessa couldn't help but roll her eyes.

"Oh, speaking of Alex... Is anyone else getting signed?"

Fergal shook his head somewhat sadly, "No, love. It's just me."

Tessa sighed. She hadn't expected anyone else but there had been a hope that Alex or Yujiro would be in talks as well. Not that having Yujiro around would help her situation at all. She just wanted people's dreams to come true. Especially the dreams of the people she loved most.

"Well, regardless of anything else, I am super happy for you and super proud and I cannot wait for us to be co-workers."

"I'll be counting down the days," he promised. "We're going out for tea, though, so I'll have to speak to you another time, love, and we can talk about something other than work."

"I look forward to it! Say konnichiwa to everyone for me."

"Of course, bye, love."

"Bye, Ferg."

Tessa ended the FaceTime call and turned around with a smile. Rami was looking at her curiously. She shrugged at him, unsure of what to say. He didn't say anything, just continued about calling the front desk for a wake-up call.

When they had received their hotel arrangements for the Europe tour Tessa hadn't been surprised that they had been put in rooms together for the two weeks they were overseas. It was easier for the agents to book people who worked closely together in same rooms because it absolved the need to call everyone and asked who they wanted to be with. She had, however, been grateful that all of the rooms had been rooms with two beds.

The number of people who had lined up to meet Sami Zayn and Tia shocked Tessa. Granted she knew that most of them were there for Sami Zayn it made her no less excited to sit down and start signing things.

The session started when the Divas Championship was set up at the front of the table and both Rami and Tessa took their seats.

Autographs were signed, sneaky photos were taken, and many gifts were received. The 'Olé' chants that broke out had Tessa stifling giggles because Rami was bouncing his knee up and down underneath the table.

"You're the reason I finally asked out a girl I liked for two years," one man, with such a thick Italian accent that Tessa had to think for a moment to work out what he had said, told Rami and Tessa couldn't resist cooing beside him.

"Did she say 'yes'?" Tessa asked and the man nodded. "Oh, that's so cute! Technically, though, Sami here hasn't asked me out."

"What do you mean?" Rami asked, looking at her curiously and the man was looking between the two of them.

"Everyone, including you, just assumed that we were a couple at some stage," Tessa said simply, trying her hardest to keep in character and not laugh. "I never got asked out."

The man who had started the conversation was directed off the stage but it didn't stop Rami from standing up and calling for the attention of everyone who was still in line.

"It has been brought to my attention that I never officially asked Tia to be my girlfriend," he said loudly, stepping up onto his seat before gesturing for Tessa to stand.

"What are you doing?" she asked him, a blush rising to her cheeks. Regardless of whether he was currently Rami or Sami, Tessa felt positively embarrassed.

"Tia, habibti, will you be my girlfriend?" The question was asked loudly so that everyone else could hear.

"Yes!" she said in slight exasperation. "Now get down from the chair before you hurt yourself!"

Everyone was clapping them, some people wolf-whistling so Tessa stared at Rami and repeatedly told him that he was unbelievable. He responded by kissing her cheek.

While she would be on the evening's show, Tessa wasn't scheduled to wrestle. She had wrestled the past two evenings in mixed-tag matches with Sami Zayn against Fandango and Summer Rae but, to switch things up, Sami Zayn would be teaming up with Cesaro against Fandango and Jack Swagger with both the Divas, and Zeb Colter, at ringside.

"I heard that you got asked out yesterday," Brie said, walking around the locker room in search of the headband Nikki had hidden from her.

"Tia got asked out yesterday," Tessa corrected, "in front of a hundred or so Italians by an idiot standing on a chair."

"Isn't that how everyone wants to be asked out?"

Tessa sighed, "It was weird. I don't... I can't deal with him doing that sort of stuff. I want him to do it for real."

"Just tell him," Brie suggested, silently cheering when she found her headband. "It's Rami; the guy's not exactly malicious."

"He knows," Tessa stated simply. "He knows me far too well to not know."

The conversation came to an abrupt end when there was a knock on the door and someone calling out that Brie had to be in Gorilla pronto. Tessa followed her out of the locker room, having no other reason for being in there, and decided to find Summer and, presumably, the men who would be involved in the match.

The victory came quickly for the team of Cesaro and Sami Zayn. Sami Zayn had performed a spinout powerbomb on Jack Swagger that set him up for the Cesaro Swing and a subsequent pin.

The losing team walked backstage dejectedly, allowing Cesaro, Sami Zayn and Tia to all step into the ring and celebrate.

Tia squealed when she felt something press the backs of her legs and Sami's arm wrapped around them. She found herself being lifted off the ground and she squealed again, her hands flailing to hold onto something. Her right hand gripped tightly into Sami's hair while Cesaro grabbed her left hand. Rising further and further into the air, her grip on Cesaro's hand tightened and she forced down on it, desperately trying to keep her balance on Sami's shoulder.

"You aren't Macho Man!" She exclaimed, her eyes glancing down at Sami before frantically looking at Cesaro as he shifted a little. "I am not Miss Elizabeth!"

"Relax, T," Sami said, squeezing his arm around her legs. He gestured for a microphone and was handed one when Justin Roberts climbed into the ring, Sami wasn't going to risk moving and have Tia fall from his shoulder in a panic.

"This lovely lady sitting on my shoulder right now is my Miss Elizabeth." The crowd cheered and Tia smiled at him, a blush rising to her cheeks. "She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen and I genuinely believe that will always be the case. I feel like now is as good a time as any," he paused, waiting for the crowd to quieten down. "Tia, I love you." Tia pulled her hand out of Cesaro's so that her hand covered her mouth. Everyone knew that she was smiling behind it, they could tell by her eyes.

Sami bent his knees slightly and Cesaro took her hand again, helping her back onto the ring mat. Sami stepped towards her, wrapping his arms around her neck and hugging her, her arms moving around his waist.

"Sami and Tia, everybody!"

-Backstage-

"What are you up to?" Tessa asked Rami harshly. "First yesterday and this, and it's not even televised! Hey," she called out to Claudio who had turned to walk away, "I know that you were in on this, so don't you dare walk away."

"What's the matter?" Rami asked, alarmed by the out-of-character and unprovoked anger in her voice. "What's the big deal?"

"What's the big deal? Does nothing you say out there even register to you?" Tessa asked exasperatedly. Claudio was walking away from them again and she didn't bother to bring him back. It wasn't a conversation he needed to be involved in.

"Of course it registers. I don't know what you're talking about, T."

"You don't even seem to care that almost everything you're saying is something you said to me when we were together," Tessa sighed, using the heel of her hand to catch any falling tears. "I know that it's my fault that it ended and I thought that I could do this with you. Do you know how much it hurts?"

Rami frowned at her as what she was saying dawned on him. He, without hesitation, wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a hug. As much as she would have liked to, Tessa didn't pull away. She was crying about being so close to him and him behaving like that almost nothing had changed but when it came down to it, that was all she really wanted.

"I don't do it to hurt you, habibti," he whispered into her hair. "It's just hard not to be that way with you."

Tessa sighed and swallowed the growing lump in her throat. She was just glad that her feelings weren't completely unrequited.

"Oh, hey, sorry to interrupt."

It was Nikki.

"Yeah, Nik?" Tessa asked, pulling herself out of Rami's embrace to look at her friend. To her credit, Nikki pretended that she hadn't walked into anything too strange.

"We're going for lunch tomorrow and you are Bryan's replacement," she stated before pointing to Rami. "You can come, too. It'll be at about 12.30, I think. I'll let you know, though."

Tessa and Rami both nodded slowly. Tessa was used to Nikki's authoritative manner but Rami was a little stunned that Nikki had just told them what they were going to be doing.

"And dress nice!"

"I know the drill," Tessa said back to Nikki who was now walking away.

She stood in silence with Rami right beside her, not knowing how to start any conversation. He clearly had the same problem. A few 'um's and 'ah's escape her mouth before she finally decided that the best idea was to walk away.

a/n so about 5 hours ago I told AeonBlue that the chapter was almost done, which it was. I then proceeded to take 5 hours to write the last half of this chapter because I'm shit.
