A/N: Hello lovelies! I blame the lack of chapters on AP exams and a bit of writer's block, trying to put everything together. I know how I want this story to end, and now it's just a matter of putting it together. But we don't have long before the end of this story..so hold on tight!
Also, for those of you in the Fairy Tail fandom, I've been writing two pieces for angst week on tumblr! They'll be posted here as well, but be sure to check them out!
That's enough from me..onward!
No! This can't be happening! Stop it! Stop it!
Sakura's voice screamed inside of her head, an endless array of shouts and cries that she hoped would break her out of the darkness, yet so far it had been failing miserably.
Everything had become clear to her once again.
Joryoku.
Controlling her body.
Slitting her own throat.
Sasuke-kun.
She'd felt a burning sensation blossom into her forehead, and the burn had reminded her that she was still alive, she had been given a second chance. And there was no way in hell that she would waste it.
She welcomed the burning fire to her skin, and picked up where she had left off.
Sakura, you have to move.
Her forehead was on fire, her head pounding.
I said, you have to move! Now!
She felt her entire body begin to vibrate, suddenly realizing that she was beginning to feel the true burn of the fire, and all of its power.
Sakura! Move!
More, she needed more time..
MOVE!
Her glowing hands had succeeded in digging into his skin, adding more blood to the ground and undoubtedly more scars to his skin. The air smelled heavily of blood, everything seemed to be dyed red.
He'd grabbed her wrist just as she decided to strike him once more, his fingers curling tightly around the impostor's wrist. His red eyes blazed into her green ones, his teeth gritted incredibly tight.
She smiled coyly at him, a small stream of blood pouring down from her head to her chin. He watched as her tongue peeked out between her lips to lick away the blood from the corner of her mouth.
"What's wrong, Sasuke-kun?" she asked. "Why won't you kill me? After all, it's what you want, isn't it?"
She leaned closer to him.
"You've already done it once before."
That did it.
An instant rush of blood filled his vision as he pushed her away from him, his hand slamming into her forehead and increasing the flow of blood from her head wound. She staggered back on her feet, clutching her head in pain, yet she continued to smile, her eyes hidden from sight.
It's not her he told himself over and over again.
"Go ahead, Sasuke-kun. Do it, or are you too weak?" she teased him.
"Shut up!" he yelled viciously at the impostor with pink hair and haunting green eyes, wanting and needing the strength to end her for good, strength he knew he would never receive.
It's not her..
Sasuke's eyes drifted off to land upon pink hair sprawled out on the ground, blood spotted randomly throughout her locks. Her face was pale and lifeless, her dark eyelashes pressed against the apples of her cheeks. If he didn't know any better, he'd think that she was in a peaceful sleep.
A sleep she'd never wake up from.
Immediately before his eyes, he saw Sakura slit her own throat once again, his mind playing a cruel trick on him. Her blood had been darker this time, more vivid. Her eyes had bore into his, never breaking eye contact with him. The vision had even graced him with the horrid sound of her blood splashing against the rocks, dripping down her neck until her knees hit the ground with a deafening thud.
He felt his entire body begin to shake out of emotions that fought for dominance.
Hatred, fury, spite, agony, misery, regret..
And..
There it was again, that same nagging feeling that Sasuke had pushed away ever so feverishly before, refusing to come to terms with it. He'd pushed it aside ever so carelessly, not bothering to actually question it.
He'd promised himself he'd never go through it again. After he had seen his father and mother's dead bodies lay before his brother, and as he stood above his brother as he took his last breath, he swore that emotion out of his life, convinced that there was nothing else left for him.
He wouldn't know until that very moment how wrong he was, how wrong she proved him to be.
And it all became clear to him, so very clear.
He wanted to feel that emotion. He wanted to feel it with her, live with her, be with her for the rest of his life, go through troubles with her, accomplish the world with her.
He wanted it with her, and only her.
He wanted to love.
"Too late."
Sasuke felt his entire body freeze, a numbing and excruciating sensation vibrating throughout his veins and muscles. His eyes widened in surprise as his knees hit the ground, unable to move any limb on his body.
She stood in front of him, bending down so that there eyes were locked on each other's, her right hand curled around his neck with her middle and index fingers pressed tightly into the back of his neck, effectively paralyzing him.
Just as Sakura had, back in the training grounds before their mission.
"Such a shame." Sakura's voice said with boredom, pursing her lips. "You're so boring."
Sasuke glared into those hauntingly fake green eyes. "I could say the same for you."
She glared at him with fire in her eyes.
"I'm done with you." she hissed, releasing her fingers from his neck and bringing her hand to the front of his face, and he watched as her hand began to glow a threatening blue.
"Now," she whispered, her hand inches from touching his neck. "Your chakra."
Sasuke's eyes widened as he realized what she was about to do, and as he tried to move his body, he was met with an agonizing pain that would only subside if he ceased to struggle.
No, he wouldn't die like this. He couldn't! He wouldn't dare!
He felt an icy surge of pain rush through his veins once more, causing him to close his eyes and bite down on his teeth, enough to break through the enamel.
He felt the buzzing of her chakra begin to touch his skin.
And then, nothing.
Nothing but the invigorating feeling of the icy pain leaving his body in a flash, his muscles sighing in relief as his shaking limbs relaxed.
Was he dead?
Then, it happened.
A sudden rush of wind blew onto his face, and his eyes flew open once he heard the sound of a fist connecting with a body, a scream of excruciating pain echoing throughout the cave and invading Sasuke's senses.
He took in the sight of mussed up pink hair, blood caked skin, and the feminine muscles of her arms clenched tightly. Her clothes were ripped and soaked with blood.
"If you're going to copy me, the least you could do is do it right. My hips aren't that big."
It was the most beautiful sight he'd ever seen.
"Sakura..how-" Sasuke tried, only cutting himself off when she turned to face him, revealing a perfectly smooth and unscathed face, her arms and legs following suit. The natural flush of adrenaline flooded her cheeks, and her eyes blazed with the familiar fire she'd kept with her all this time.
She was unharmed, healed and completely untouched.
And it was all thanks to the diamond shaped seal that she now wore proudly on her forehead.
