Carry on, lovelies!

Your bed misses you, ya know.

Sakura rolled her eyes as a smile began to spread onto her lips. "Then keep it warm for me, I'll be back probably an hour after dawn." she mentally spoke to Fuu, as she walked down the empty path towards her destination, not one tired none or muscle hindering her. She realized that it was a bit strange that she and Fuu still had their mental connection hotline, but it didn't seem to be anything to worry too much about.

Yeah, well, try not to destroy too much propertyyou know how boys get after fights. It's all about the make-up's.

"You do realize that I can walk without you dragging me, right?" Sasuke's voice said behind Sakura dryly as she increased her grip on his wrist, dragging him along with her more forcefully.

Sakura turned back to look at his annoyed visage, and she smiled brightly at him. "Yes, I do. But, at your pace, we'll get there mid afternoon, and we can't have that."

Sasuke frowned. "And where are we going, exactly?"

Wow, who knew that Sasuke-san was so whipped. You go, girl!

"Goodnight, Fuu." Sakura told her wryly, shaking her head as she increased her stride, refusing to show the embarrassed flush that crept across her cheeks.

Have fun, Sakura!

"Just tell me where we're going." Sasuke's annoyed voice rang out, causing Sakura to decide that she'd put the guy through enough. And anyway, they were almost at their destination.

"We," Sakura began, turning around to once again face Sasuke. "Are going to the training grounds."

Sasuke's eyebrows raised slightly as she said this, his lips curling downwards into a confused frown. She wouldn't tell anyone, but she had to admit that he looked incredibly cute with that confused expression on his face.

"And why would we be going there?" Sasuke asked her, his voice hitched in a tone that was drenched in wariness. When Sakura laughed at him, his frown intensified.

After a flash of a smile, and a rapid wink, Sakura watched as Sasuke's face was swept over with surprise.

"It was your idea. After all, you said you wanted a re-match, right?"

"Sakura." Sasuke said suddenly.

She turned around and looked at him with curious eyes. For a moment he was lost in thought, entranced by her presence in front of the setting sun, the deep golden rays causing her skin to glow and making her eyes a lighter shade of green. Sasuke almost didn't say anything, but then found his words.

"I want a re-match."

Sakura stared at him, then laughed lightly. "I'm looking forward to it."

It had been back then…before the mission.

He'd completely forgotten about his sudden outburst of a request, and who could blame him really, since he hadn't meant for them to go at it so suddenly. He'd just wanted to see more of what she could do, but he hadn't been that eager back then. Now, however, was a completely different story. And what's more, she remembered.

And now there she stood, a good distance away from him, her posture readied for a fight. Her legs were bent slightly, her arms crossed in front of her chest with her gloved hands clenched.

He watched as one of her hands pointed out towards a hill a few meters away, the early sunrise peeking out behind grassy green.

"We begin when the sun reaches the peak of the hill. Once that happens, no holding back, you got it?" she called over to him, to which he nodded slowly.

He examined the hill out of the corner of his eyes, calculating that they'd only have a few minutes left before they'd start, and ultimately create an outcome that none of them would know until the moment it came.

"I'm serious, you know." Sakura said, narrowing her eyes into the Uchiha's. "Don't you dare hold back on me."

Sasuke smirked. "You should be exhausted. It could affect your performance."

Sakura rolled her eyes. "The only thing that can affect my performance is if you slack off."

"Don't you worry." Sasuke said, eyeing the sun's rays beginning to peek through the blades of grass. "I never planned on holding back."

Had he?

Sakura nodded her head. "Good."

The sun slowly began to spread its gold over the field they stood on, blanketing their bodies in a shimmering blanket of warmth. Sasuke watched as the sun hit Sakura's body, hitting her eyes and turning them a shade lighter just like back then, and he was thankful for it.

He never wanted to see her eyes become such a dark shade ever again.

It was almost time, just a few more seconds.

He felt a surge of chakra, and when Sasuke directed his attention back towards Sakura, he watched as the diamond on her forehead began to glow, as if it were a real jewel. The amethyst light on her forehead suddenly peaked as large purple marks began to spread and stretch down her face and neck, travelling down to her arms as well. He felt a strange chill roll down his spine as her chakra settled in her body, and he suddenly realized that she'd be using the same technique that she'd used back in the cave, regardless that she'd just learned it.

As she took up her fighting stance, the sunlight got stronger, and it almost swallowed her whole, making her appear as some sort of ancient warrior, uniquely stunning and utterly…sexy.

The sunshine poured out from the top of the hill like lava from a volcano.

And he was on the ground with a steady kunai pressed to his throat.

How was she so fast?! And having caught him off guard so easily…

Sasuke's eyes widened as he looked up into hers, watching as the green fire burned heavily in her irises. Her teeth her gritted, her lips pink and plump. If he wanted to, he could reach out and trace the heavenly lines that adorned her face…

"Your eyes." she spat out angrily. "Activate them."

"You're going easy on me." she said accusingly, putting a hand on her hip. "I don't know why you didn't use your sharingan, but I do know one thing..never underestimate me ever again."

"I won't fight you unless you activate your sharingan." Sakura told him, her grip on his shirt increasing as she slowly brought her kunai away from his neck.

His sharingan…he hadn't activated it the last time they'd fought in fear of hurting her.

And suddenly, he realized just how ignorant he'd acted.

He smirked up at her, which rewarded him with narrowed green eyes. With a burst of speed that she was unable to detect, he shot his arm out and knocked her kunai away, sending it spiraling in the air until it finally landed upright in the grass.

"Have it your way." he said, relishing in the familiar rush of power in his ocular lobes as he let his power burst forward.

In a panic, Sakura pushed down on Sasuke's chest as she leapt out of the way, flipping in mid air and landing smoothly in a crouched position a few feet away.

His eyes were the strikingly enchanting cherry red that always managed to captivate her, but she quickly shook the distraction away from her body as she felt an excited smile begin to creep up onto her lips.

Finally.

"It's about time, you idiot." she said mockingly, quickly averting her eyes from his gaze, just incase he'd been planning to catch her in a genjutsu, not that she couldn't break out of it easily.

When she felt a presence behind her, she pivoted and punched a Sasuke clone right in its stomach, making it disappear in a cloud of smoke. When she heard a familiar sound a few feet away, she gritted her teeth as she realized that Sasuke had detected her clone as well, also realizing that they'd used the same techniques from before, sending clones to do their dirty work.

Sakura allowed her eyes to finally meet his once again, and he stared back at her evenly, and she narrowed hers when his eyes took on a similar fashion.

"Enough clones." he said to her.

Sakura smirked. "I could say the same for you."

They ran towards each other, and their kunai ignited small and hot sparks as the metal scraped against the other's surface roughly, the faces of the wielders following suit. Both of their eyes glowed with the passion of the fight, neither of them giving up as they soon abandoned their kunai for fists. Sasuke effectively blocked one of Sakura's kicks as she also managed to block one of his fists. Still gripping onto Sakura's leg, Sasuke tried to pull it up so that she'd fall, but Sakura had effectively twisted out of his hold. She'd landed on her hands, and she used that to her advantage by pushing off of the ground to kick him in the stomach. She felt her foot sweep past his clothes as he effectively dodged the majority of her strike.

That damned sharingan…and he knew that it frustrated her too, which was utterly infuriating to no end. She had to think of a way to blind him…somehow…in a way that he'd never expect.

Her eyes widened. That's it!

She felt a hand grab her wrist, and as she tried to break out of his hold, he'd managed to grab her other one as she gritted her teeth. He stared down at her mockingly. but that look immediately faded when she slammed her foot into the earth, shattering it and making it difficult to stand on. Using this as a distraction, Sakura pushed off of Sasuke's stomach with her feet as she backflipped away, watching with glee as he gritted his teeth trying to find solid ground. She wanted so badly to tell him that there was no point, but he'd find out soon enough anyway.

Without any other hesitation, she added to the crumbling earth by smashing her fist to the ground, creating giant fissures that spread like wildfire across the grassy ground.

So much for her promise not to destroy anything.

She watched as Sasuke leapt into the air to avoid the crumbling earth, and that's when Sakura slid down into the ground, easily slipping through the cracks and concealing herself beneath the earth. With nimble fingers, she quickly untied her headband and let it fall into her hands. Her reflection stared back at her in the metal, and she nodded to herself.

She closed her eyes as she heard the soft thud of a landing, and she kept absolutely quiet as his footsteps drew closer…

Where was she?

His eyes narrowed as they swept across the broken terrain, searching for any sign of her chakra. He should've been able to detect her by now, and he grew extremely suspicious when he'd realized she masked her chakra extremely well. Breaking the ground apart was all part of her plan to evade him, he knew that. He also knew Sakura, and if he was correct, he knew she was planning on jumping out of the ground to surprise him.

His thoughts were disrupted when he saw a rock the size of his fist hurdle towards him, and he'd dodged it easily. When another was thrown at him, he'd dodged that one just as easily.

"This is your plan?" Sasuke called out. "Throwing small rocks at me? You'll have to do better than that."

He didn't let his suspicion show. He knew that she was up to something bigger, he just couldn't identify it.

Suddenly, a much larger rock came hurdling towards his midsection, and he leapt to his left. He quickly had to change positions once more as an even bigger rock flew towards his head. His sharingan detected them easily, and he'd dodged each rock as they were thrown towards him, the sources of the rocks coming from all different directions. He angrily realized that he couldn't pinpoint her exact location. He was fortunate enough that he could at least pin point where the rocks were coming from, only he never had enough time to follow the path of the rocks back to their thrower, which was a pain.

He leapt backwards away from another large rock, watching with surprised eyes as it slammed into a tree, splintering the bark upon contact and shaking most of the leaves off of its branches. As he landed on the ground, his eyes once again swept across the terrain, searching for any sign of pink.

He didn't anticipate where he'd find her, but as he felt a body slam against his back, he knew it was her. All in an instant, he felt a piece of cloth cover his eyes as she pulled on a piece of cloth from behind him, he recognized the fabric instantly as her headband. He felt her legs tangle up with his, and he felt her left arm wrap around his neck firmly.

"I win." she said playfully.

He hadn't moved after she jumped on his back, and she smiled smugly as he turned his head slightly to glare at her beneath her headband. She let her headband drop to the ground, and she winked at him while she loosened her grip, allowing him to breathe more.

"That was fun!" she said, still clinging onto his back as she relished in her victory. "Let's do it again someti-"

Her eyes widened as he suddenly grabbed her left arm and pulled roughly, flipping her off of his back as she let out a startled squeak, feeling her legs break free from their entanglement with his. Eyes wide, Sakura was suddenly in front of Sasuke, his eyes narrowed angrily as his sharingan blazed and blared into her own eyes, sending a deep unsettlement through her stomach.

But that feeling instantly melted away when he pressed his lips to hers.

She felt her eyes close almost instantly, her arms reaching upwards to wrap around his neck as she deepened their kiss, her entire body warming a couple of degrees as she felt him place his hands on her hips, digging his fingers into her shirt. Her fingers inched upwards to grasp onto his hair softly, while the other hand slid slowly up his neck towards his cheek.

She could see the sunrise from her closed eyelids as she imagined them drenched in it, two teenagers drenched in sunshine gold as they became one with each other, as they should've been from the very beginning.

They broke apart slowly to inhale the crisp morning oxygen, and as their eyes opened together in unison, Sakura drank in his appearance entirely. She'd never forget the shimmer of his cherry red eyes against the golden sunrise of morning. Those would be the eyes she would never back away from in fear ever again. These were the eyes she'd fallen in love with, the eyes she trusted with all her heart.

"Why can't we ever finish a match properly?" Sasuke asked her quietly, to which Sakura closed her eyes and smiled.

"Who said anything about being proper?"
