Playthings
"Look Syndra, can I ju-mmph!"
"Less talking and more eating, fool-captain!" Syndra snapped as she levitated another piece of gyoza and sent the piping hot dumpling whizzing into Irelia's half open mouth. "Look at you, fool-captain! You're practically bones now! What happened to staying healthy?"
Irelia managed to chew and swallow the food that had rather unceremoniously flown into her mouth, promptly opening her mouth again to speak up in her own defense.
"Hey, look, I thought you wer-mmph!" Irelia got cut off again as Syndra sent another dumpling flying into her mouth. Only this time, Irelia didn't feel like stopping in her sentance. "I foght you were dead! How was I thuppothed to have an appetite?!"
Syndra only seemed to scowl at the warrior when Irelia continued talking rather than chewing and eating.
"Eat. Now. Plaything!" Syndra demanded, narrowing her eyes and almost leering at the warrior.
Of course Irelia merely rolled her eyes and finally obliged the mage's demands. However, not even before she had finished her dumpling, Syndra already had another piece primed and ready to go. Thankfully enough, Irelia was more than ready this time...
"Syndra, I can feed myself!" Irelia complained, raising a hand as some sort of shield to prevent Syndra's gyoza from having an unrestricted flight path towards her mouth. "And can you please be respectful of the fact that we aren't the only ones here?"
From around the table that they were sitting at, Syndra lifted her head to glare at Lux, Riven, Karma, and Elder Kwan all in turn. Each individual merely bit their lip and quickly found somewhere else to look... Well, at least all of them except Lux who only gave Syndra the brightest and most luminescent smile she could muster. As if she were approving of the sovereign's actions, Lux promptly grinned and picked up her own chopsticks.
"Rivennnn! C'mon let me feed you!" Lux immediately piped up, quickly swooping down to her own dumplings and lifting it up into the air. The light mage almost simultaneously reached out and caught the exile by the arm and pulled her in closer.
"Open up!" The Demacian demanded in her characteristically bubbly attitude.
Riven, on the other hand, seemed all too shocked and surprised with Lux's sudden actions to physically resist.
"N-no!" She stammered, her cheeks turning a shade of pink as she quickly looked away. Lux, on the other hand, merely wiggled her chopsticks after the exile, trying to get Riven to accept the dumpling.
Regardless of the exile's efforts, Elder Kwan and Karma merely watched the two with an embarrassed sort of smile on their faces.
"Ah... youth is such a beautiful thing..." Elder Kwan commented, taking a moment to sip at his tea. The elder's eyes twinkled with a sort of amusement that only he seemed to be able to create.
"... Beautiful, yes... But in the wrong setting..." Karma added with a small sigh.
Indeed, from around the group, many sets of eyes were glancing in their direction. It wasn't like the group would go simply unnoticed by the public in the first place. There were several champions, along with two elders in their midst. The sight of the champions and elders alone would have drawn attention, let alone the antics of four of the other females...
"-Okay! Okay! Jeez Syndra, n-no stop I can feed myself!" Irelia voice once again sounded up, drawing Elder Kwan and Karma's attention back to the odd pair.
Both Elder Kwan and Karma found their eyes met with the sight of Syndra pinning Irelia's arms down on the table and a piece of gyoza floating around the captain's face, clearly trying to find an opportunity to fly into the warrior's mouth. Irelia, on the other hand, seemed to be ducking and weaving her head as to make the task as difficult as possible.
"Sit still plaything! I need to make sure you are eating enough!" The sovereign demanded.
Thankfully enough, before Syndra could essentially force feed the captain, the waitress serving the group arrived, timidly carrying several piping hot bowls of ramen.
"Uhm... Ahem... Shoyu Ramen, large?" The waitress asked in a rather timid tone.
In an instant, Syndra's gaze snapped over to fixate her glowing eyes upon the waitress. One could almost see the fear surge into the poor waitress's eyes, but surprisingly enough, Syndra only grinned at the waitress.
With a wave of her hand, Syndra lifted every single bowl off of the tray in the woman's hands and set each bowl in front of each respective person. She did it so quickly and so efficiently that the waitress was almost lost as to what she was supposed to do.
"Thank you." Syndra stated, tilting her head rather expectantly at the waitress. It was a gesture clearly indicating that it was her turn to leave; something that the woman was rather quick to do.
"... You're supposed to let her serve us..." Irelia murmured softly to the mage.
Of course Syndra didn't quite understand that bit of social etiquette.
"What do you mean? I did things for her. Is that not the nice thing to do?" Syndra questioned, "See, I'm being nice!" She quickly added as if such a thing was going to give her brownie points or perhaps some other reward...
"It is merely a social etiquette." Karma spoke up in explanation.
Her words only earned her a glare from Syndra.
"It's so they can serve you well and then you pay them a little bit extra for their good service." Irelia quickly continued on with Karma's initial explanation.
The sovereign merely grunted and shrugged off the explanation. She did a nice thing, as far as she was concerned. Now why was everyone not approving of it? Shouldn't she be rewarded for such an action?
"Eat, Plaything." Syndra merely growled in response, reaching for Irelia's chopsticks and the bowl of ramen in front of the captain.
This time, however, Irelia was a faster than Syndra at getting to both items. Swooping down, she deftly snatched her own chopsticks and pinched the lip of her ramen bowl, preventing it from sliding closer to Syndra.
"I can feed myself!" Irelia huffed, "And besides, you have a big bowl of ramen to eat yourself!"
Again, Syndra scowled at the captain, but quickly looked down at the extra large bowl of miso ramen in front of her. To say that the smell was intoxicating would have been an understatement, and the mage's stomach let her know that by letting out a growl.
While everyone else around the table pretended not to hear the sound coming from Syndra's stomach, Irelia only grinned cheekily and wrapped an arm around the sovereign's shoulder. It was rather easy to tell that a few of the others, such as Elder Kwan and Riven were holding back smiles to the best of their ability. Lux, on the other hand, grinned ever wider while Karma hid everything behind her serene poker-face.
"See, you're hungry!" Irelia stated, still smiling up at the mage.
Syndra, on the other hand, looked away, clearly embarrassed with her own body's reaction to delicious smelling food. Without a doubt, for someone who was typically shrouded in a menacing aura, the sound did a significant amount to offset that threatening feel...
"Sh-shut up..." She growled at the captain. It was remarkable that that was all the sovereign did, as had it been anyone else that made such a comment, they would have likely been thrown out of a window...
"If we were at home, I might offer to feed you~" Irelia continued, refusing to let the situation go without at least one little tease directed towards Syndra.
"... Hmph!" Syndra grunted, turning her head to the ceiling as some sort of angered gesture. Of course the bit of pink that tinted her cheeks hinted to the idea that she might have actually wanted such a thing...
"Not this time, I need to make sure you eat and get back into being my healthy plaything!" Syndra finally huffed, "And the best way for me to do that is to feed you myself!"
"It's fine, Syndra, I promise..." Irelia continued to insist. "You can watch me finish eating my own bowl of ramen, okay? It's not like you can't see whether or not it's empty from where you are sitting..."
It was perfectly logical reasoning coming from the warrior's mouth, and the sovereign knew it. Yet, for some reason, the mage was being unusually obstinate in resisting the warrior's words, evidence perhaps of the fact that the mage may have just wanted to feed her partner after all... Alas, Syndra finally caved in when her stomach let out another audible protest, demanding that the sovereign satisfy her needs as a human.
"Fine, Plaything..." Syndra growled, sounding as though she didn't want to listen to Irelia at all, "But I'm watching you! There better not be a single scrap left in that bowl!"
One Hour Later...
Syndra streched her arms to the sky before let out a contented yawn. As her arms fell back down, they found their way around Irelia's neck as the mage curled her arms around her favorite Ionian. With a small sigh, the mage rested her chin atop Irelia's head; her feet floating a good meter off of the ground as the pair moved down the street.
"Syndra... what are you..." Irelia murmured, turning her eyes upwards in attempt to catch a glimpse of whatever it was Syndra was doing. Of course all the warrior could see were a few stray strands of Syndra's hair drooping over her own head as the mage idly floated behind her.
"Nap..." Syndra finally replied with a content smile on her face.
"Nap?" Irelia repeated with a raised eyebrow.
"Nap!" Syndra agreed, stating it in a way that made it seem as though the single word was enough to explain her reasoning.
"Syndra, you just ate. You should wait at least half an hour for your food to settle before you sleep..." Irelia complained, clearly not very impressed with Syndra's health habits.
"But I'm full and I'm sleepy!" Syndra whined like a spoiled child.
"What happened to making sure that I was being healthy?" The captain countered with a small smile of her own.
"You finished your food." Syndra complained with a pout, clearly not very pleased that Irelia was teasing her. "You ate, which means you will be healthy. I just have to keep making you eat!"
Though the mage couldn't see it, Irelia rolled her eyes at Syndra's simplistic reasoning. It was a good thing that Karma and the rest of the group weren't with them, else all of them would have probably been listening in on their little pointless conversation. The group had split up after their lunch, Elder Kwan and Karma returning to the circle of elders while Lux dragged Riven away with who knew what in mind. Ultimately, that left Syndra and Irelia alone to some privacy that neither had for quite a while...
Before long, however, Irelia found herself traveling along in silence while the sovereign floated idly behind her, drifting somewhere between the lines of consciousness and sleep. It was all such a mystery to the warrior; how Syndra was somehow so comfortable in the midst of all the tumultuous change, but for however much the sovereign relaxed, Irelia had other plans. Indeed, as she neared her own little home in the Placidium, a small smile spread across her face as she gingerly and quietly moved through the front door, the captain making sure to stoop ever so slightly as to not accidentally hit Syndra's head on the doorway.
Shutting the door behind them, Irelia let out a small sigh as her eyes were met with the familiar sight of her house. It had been a while since she had returned, but now that she was here, she was most definitely home. Perhaps what made it even more special was the fact that there was one particular person clinging to her as the captain made her way further into the home. Indeed, with that one special person floating behind her, Irelia felt as if home was only a few feet away... Or in this case, just a few inches.
Nevertheless, Irelia let out a small sigh and shook her head, never imagining that this day might come. To think that Syndra would one day be able to walk the streets of the Placidium at the captain's side without having to wear a disguise was simply unfathomable. And yet, here the sovereign was, relaxed to the point of even being able to sleep while the guided her to wherever it was that she wanted.
For a brief moment, Irelia seemed to pause and savor the moment as she relished in knowing that for once, she had the two things in the world that she would willingly give anything else for. Finally, she had her country, and a new family by her side.
However, despite that fact, there remained a single desire that Irelia had harbored ever since she was reunited with the sovereign. It was a small thing, really, but one that most definitely didn't require any words for the other to know how strong their love still was.
Grinning rather mischievously to herself, the captain slowly made her way to the bedroom, gingerly peeling the mage's hands off from around her shoulders and guiding the mage's still floating form down onto the bed.
Syndra seemed to frown in her half-sleep, somehow able to sense that her grasp on the captain had broken, but before the mage grew too upset or restless with such a small thing, Irelia went and laid down beside the sovereign; wrapping an arm about the mage and immediately drawing a contented smile onto the sovereign's complacent features.
If there was any comparison of Syndra to an animal, it was most definitely to one of a cat, as the mage seemingly snuggled in to the warrior's body and instinctively clung to the arm that Irelia had wrapped around the woman.
It was a good thing too, because for what it was that Irelia had in mind, Syndra was't exactly going to be in the most comfortable of situations... Indeed, the warrior had something else in mind... And she wasn't exactly planning on being the most gentle about it...
With that, a small, devious smile flashed across Irelia's face before her hand began to trace its way inexorably downwards across the mage's curvaceous form...
Author's Notes:
A rather short and lacking chapter as far as I am concerned, but given that my writing time has dwindled down below zero, I suppose it is what it is. As I previously mentioned, these few chapters are merely a continuation of the fluff chapters that I promised to write. Now in regards to the readers who asked for a bit more smut, I am a little bit hesitant to put more smut into the story. (This has to do with 's TOS) That being said, however, if I do include one, I will probably post it on my tumblr or other website and merely provide a link to the writing. For now, I am leaving things up in the air as to whether or not I do or do not create such a chapter.
For further news, I must apologize for the sporadic nature of my updates to this story. As I mentioned before, I am simply swamped with school work. That, combined with my part time job leaves me with barely enough time to breath, let alone sleep. So thank you all of you who have been kind enough to understand and be accepting and supporting of my restrictive timetable. As always, thank you all for being supportive of this story. I hope to see you in the chapters to come as well as any other stories that I write.
