Robin paced slowly in his tent, hand cupped to his chin. The sun had long set, leaving only him and the remaining night's watch awake. Candles were burned down to the wicks, the wax almost spilling onto his books.

He had often stayed up late for the most serious of reasons, tactics and planning. Keeping the Shepherds alive was his primary goal, the objective of dethroning Walhart the Conqueror a close second. Most tacticians of the past had sacrificed many to achieve their goals, but Robin prided himself on keeping those close to him alive and fighting.

This night was not spent pouring over tactics and maps, no. It was Robin thinking of something that he had no tactics for, no card up his sleeve to play.

It was about his love life.

Sure, Lissa had always teased him about his romantic affairs, but he simply brushed off the tomboyish princess's remarks. It was common for him to be the brunt of many jokes, but he didn't mind. Robin was just happy that his comrades were happy. He could wait until after the war to pursue that objective. Time where he could orchestrate a plan, one where he could not lose.

This, however, was not in fate's planning. It seemed that he had been thrown a curve ball. He had noticed something he had never noticed before, something that was only a simple fleeting glance or a momentary lapse in mind. He had found a girl who he wanted to actively pursue.

Sure, the Shepherds were full of many attractive people, hell they were all quite pretty. He had always passed off the looks of others as simple fancy, nothing worth noting. Yet here he was, spending the entirety of his day with her face pictured in his mind. Her hair, a perfect shade of golden-blonde. Her eyes, glowing red with deep passions that he could only guess at.

He wanted to know more about her. Of course, he always wanted to know more about his friends and comrades, but this was different. He wanted to know where she was ticklish, her dreams and hopes, her desires, her fears and peeves. He wanted to hold her and...

Wait. What was he thinking!?

Severa was his friend's daughter! She had not even been properly born yet! It was completely wrong on so many levels that he could not even think about the repercussions of such an action yet..something inside him sincerely yearned to hold her hand, to walk along a romantic moonlight trail.

Robin sighed and ceased his pacing, arms dropping limply to his side.

"Sup Bubbles?"

Robin jumped in shock, turning to his tent entrance where Gaius stood, cheekily munching on another hard candy.

"Gods, Gaius! I almost had a heart attack!" Robin said, shaking his head.

Gaius scoffed and stepped nimbly inside, quickly taking the chair at Robin's desk. "Eh, I wouldn't worry too much Bubbles, I believe that you're made of tougher stuff than that."

Robin smiled. "Yeah, sure." Blinking, the tactician quickly came ot a realization. "Gaius...are you not on the night watch?"

"I am!" The thief replied cheerfully.

Robin sighed and shook his head again, pointing towards the thief. "What if we get attacked?"

"We won't! I asked Libra to cover for me."

Robin took a seat on his cot, eyeing the orange-haired man. After a moment of silence, he spoke. "So why are you here Gaius?"

"The whole camp could see that something was wrong, Bubbles. You usually devour that bear meat in an instant. You had hardly ate any of it! I agreed to talk to ya, see what was up." Gaius leaned forward dramatically, clasping his hands together. "So, what is bothering you?"

Robin didn't know what to think. He trusted the thief, even calling him a best friend over the course of the past few years. With a deep breath, Robin began to speak. "Well...it's just that..."

Gaius raised an eyebrow.

"It's just...how do you talk to a girl?"

Gaius went unmoving for a brief moment before breaking out into a fit of laughter. Robin rolled his eyes, patiently waiting for the man to calm down.

"S-sorry Bubbles..."

Robin walked silently around the camp. If he wasn't going ot be getting any sleep, he might as well protect the Shepherds. He had Gaius and Libra retire, leaving only himself, Panne, and Gregor on watch.

He was tired, yes, but his mind would not rest. The simple tips Gaius had given him were swirling in his mind. He wanted to talk to Severa, but he didn't know how to go about it with their lessons done with.

After a few more weeks of practice, Robin could proudly proclaim that they were on the same level of skill. Maybe even in strength, too, but he was more of a magic guy. After that was all said and done, he didn't think he could just approach her and talk about the weather. It was too obvious, too cliche.

Gaius had given him a brilliant idea, though. If he created a situation where he could isolate Severa and himself, a chore or otherwise, he could talk to her. Suddenly, it clicked in Robin's mind. He was going to mess with the chore chart, and set himself up with Severa.

Rounding the same corner for the fifth time, Robin nodded at Panne, who stood on guard. The taugel was scanning the trees surrounding the camp with eerie serenity. The woman always slightly intimidated him, though he would never say so. He nodded at the woman, and turned into the camp. He walked through the large tents and near barrels and other crates, careful not to knock anything over.

Finally, Robin found himself mere feet away from the Chore sheet's location. Normally, he would wait until morning and ask Frederick to make a change, but he didn't want to tip anyone off. He had a hard enough time dodging Gaius' intrigue in his love life, he didn't want Lissa or Sumia to find out.

Robin slightly opened the flap, peering inside. He could see the sleeping form of Frederick lying on his cot. He closed the flap, taking a moment to steady his breath and make sure no one was around. Gently, he eased himself inside.

The chart was laid out on a small fold-up table in the far corner of the tent. This would normally be something easily done by Robin, but this was Frederick. He was trained as a bodyguard, and he knew for a fact that he was light sleeper.

Carefully, Robin tip-toed into the tent. He gently made his way across, breathing as slowly and softly as he could. Finally, he reached the chart. He quickly scooped it up off the table and grabbed a pen lying beside it. He saw that in three days, Severa was scheduled to do some firewood collection with Lucina. He scratched out the princess's name and replaced it with his own.

"Sorry Lucina..." Robin breathed out quietly. A decision he quickly regretted, as an armoured glove clamped around his wrist. Swallowing loudly, Robin turned to see the suspicious face of Frederick.

"What does the princess have to do with any of this?" Frederick asked.

"Uh...well..."

Frederick raised an eyebrow, grip tightening slightly on Robin's arm.

"W-well...would you believe me if I told you I wanted her to be with her family more?" Robin replied shakily. "Look, I know this is suspicious but I want to just get closer to a certain girl in camp..."

Frederick smiled slightly. "What is my silence worth?" He asked seriously.

"...eh?"
