Well, it has been quite some time, hasn't it? First of all, apologies. I didn't expect to take such a break from this story but ideas come slow. Second of all, we all know who Luna in Fire Emblem Fates is. So, I may continue this story under a similar name, following Luna in Fire Emblem Fates. Of course, I may wait until it comes out in NA/Eu before writing that.

Anyways, I finish this story with a conflicted heart. One hand, I'm happy to finally wrap it up, but I know I'm also leaving a few things open-ended and such. I'll let you fill in the details yourself.

Without further ado, I present; The End.

Robin swallowed and closed his eyes. It had been such a long road. From the moment he woke in the field, to the Valmese war, to Grima...

A long road ending in his death. He winced at the thought. Still, he had returned. It was bittersweet, however. Morgan, Chrom and the rest were all overjoyed at his return. Drinks were had and Robin happily accepted all the friendly slaps he received from friends.

Then, there was Severa.

His...wife. It had been some time since he had died, and some time since Severa had even held his hand. Bonds drifted apart, much to Robin's dismay. He loved her with all his heart, but things had changed.

Severa didn't give him many details, but he knew the basics. Inigo, Owain, and herself were travelling through the outrealms to a place on the brink of destruction. It was a very important mission, and Severa couldn't decline the invitation.

Robin knew that this was the end of their relationship. Still, he rode with the three time-travellers to the outrealm gate. The entire trip was spent in silence, save for Owain. Severa didn't speak to him, and Robin wouldn't even have known what to say.

Inigo and Owain waited by the gate, discussing something quietly to themselves. Owain, for once, was very serious. They shared determined expressions, both occasionally glancing at the couple.

"So...this is it, then?" Robin said weakly.

Severa grunted in response.

"I...I know you must do this...but..." Robin said, his voice cracking. "Is there any chance you can return?"

"I do not know." Severa said simply, her arms crossed as she refused to meet his gaze.

They stood in silence for a time, both not wanting to leave. Eventually, Robin raised his hand. He gently slid the wedding band off his finger, cupping it in his hand gently. He sighed quietly, placing the ring in Severa's hand.

"Keep it, as a token of the time we spent together."

Severa opened her mouth, attempting to speak, but all that came out was a strangled cry. She dove forward and wrapped herself around the tactician, openly crying. Robin, unable to hold back his own emotions, broke down as well.

They embraced, lamenting the circumstances that brought about the change in their relationship. They couldn't change fate, no matter how often Lucina said otherwise. Finally, Robin placed both hands on her shoulders and separated them. He sniffed once, letting more tears fall.

"May we meet again, in a better life."

With those words, Robin turned and left. He quickly mounted a horse and rode off, pushing the horse as fast as it would carry him. The tactician disappeared around a bend in the road, path obscured by a patch of forest.

Robin rode hard. He drove his horse onwards, faster and faster. He just had to leave it behind. He had to move on. The sun had long ago set, and Robin knew that the horse would soon collapse from the strain he was putting on it.

Reluctantly, he led the beast into a small clearing and dismounted, not bothering to tie it up. He took a few shaky steps forward, before collapsing to his knees. There, in the clear moonlight, he cried.

He cried harder than he had ever cried in his life. He bawled and sobbed and wretched and hiccoughed and choked. Still, he couldn't lift the weight on his heart. He slammed his fists on the ground, kicking up dirt. He cried for what felt like hours. He cried until he could no longer make any noise other than a faint, choking sob.

Even still, he lay in the dirt and shook from the pain. Occasionally muttering a faint prayer to Naga or a single word, 'Why.' He thought for a long time. He thought about trying to follow her, about trying to find some way to change the way it would be, but to no avail.

His tears drying on his face, he let the morning sun fall on him as he finally lost consiousness from the exhaustion.

Severa, no, Luna, made her way through the Nohrian fortress. She was to meet with her new lord, a person who she was to be subservient to. The idea irked her, but she had little choice in the matter.

She was led into a small sitting room, where an attractive purple-haired woman sat. Beside her, a shorter, white-haired boy was blushing and looking down at the table.

"Lady Camilla." Luna's escort announced.

Camilla, the purple-haired one, looked up, a grin spread on her face. "Ah, so you must be Luna." She said warmly. "Come, sit. We were just enjoying some time together." The lady said, grinning even wider at the boy to her left.

Luna sat down hesitantly, eyeing the boy.

"This is Kamui, my brother." Camilla said, placing a hand on Kamui's shoulder.

Luna gave a halfhearted hello, but decided to at least give her lord's brother the time of day. Kamui was refusing to meet Luna's eye, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. He attempted to look at her, but immediately drew his gaze back to the table, blush redder than ever.

Something about Kamui was too familiar. Maybe it was his white hair...or his aura...but Severa hadn't felt like this in a long time. Not since...

Robin bounced the small girl on his lap, cooing at her affectionately. Morgan gurgled at him, attempting to grab his fingers. Robin chuckled and lifted her in the air, making a few silly faces much to her amusement.

Robin notched something in her eye. Bringing her close, he peered into her deep blue eyes. Right on her left iris, was the mark of the exalt.

"Lucy." He called. "Morgan has your mark..."

So, this has been a journey. I'd like to think I improved somewhere along the line, hopefully. If you like SeveraxRobin, check out my other story (30 day OTP challenge.) I hope you guys liked it, I try to do my best. Sometimes you just gotta bury what you did and move on, and this is one of those things. At least I didn't just leave it stagnant until it as forgotten. I try to rap up the story...if possible.

Good night,
