"How in sprinkles am I gonna win?"

Vanellope and Rancis were alone, wandering through Sugar Rush. Ralph had a Bad Anon meeting and the Fix-Its went to go see Mario and Peach.

Once they did, Rancis began to doubt himself. Even though now he had the RV1, he still worried that he wouldn't win.

"Cheer up, Butterfingers. You'll win."

"What makes you so sure, Nellie?"

"'Cause you won't be against me!" she laughed. Rancis lightly nudged her, chuckling.

"I'm serious, V."

"So am I. I'm the biggest competition."

"Right. Well even though you won't be racing, I'm still up against Taffyta and Candlehead. Not to mention Jubileena and Minty can be pretty hardcore candies when they want to be."

"You can be even tougher!" the tiny racer insisted. "You just gotta put your mind to it!"

The boy groaned. "That's what I've been trying to do, Nellie! Ever since the words came out of Ralph's mouth, I've been worried sick about the race. If I don't win, it'll be the end of our relationship!" he pouted.

"That won't happen!" Vanellope responded, stopping Rancis in his tracks. "You wanna know why?"

"Why?"

"'Cause you're gonna win." she smiled. "I know you will."

Rancis looked at Vanellope, doubtfully. He sighed heavily, sticking his hands in his pockets, a habit he's picked up from Vanellope doing it all the time.

"...How do you know?"

Vanellope stood high on her tippy-toes, jabbing a thumb at herself, "Because I'm the President of Sugar Rush! I'm never wrong!"

"Tch, you were wrong last week when you said, 'Today, I'm gonna win twenty times in a row!'" the blonde racer said in a mimicking tone.

She narrowed her eyes in response, "Hey, it's not my fault there were a bunch of people playing with the mind of a two-year-old!"

"Excuses, excuses."

"Whatever." Vanellope rolled her eyes. "Bottom line is I'm almost never wrong. And this time, I know I'm right!"

Rancis scoffed, "You actually think I can win?"

Vanellope winked, "Well, not like this! I mean you're negative and not practicing. At this rate, your not acting like much of a winner."

"Acting?"

"Sure. Play the part to be the part. So c'mon! Get excited and grab the RV1! Let's practice in the Jellybean Drive."

Rancis nodded, "Alright, you get your kart too, then. Meet you there?"

"Yup!" she responded, heading off to get her own kart.

Rancis grinned as he ran to get the RV1. Man, was he lucky to know a girl like her...

Not too long later were the two racers at Jellybean Drive, in their karts and ready to practice.

"Okay, Richy Rich!" Vanellope called, revving her engine. The two were lined beside the other, jeallybeans as far as the eye could see littered the sugar-coated landscape. "First one to Pokey Park wins! Use whatever you got! Pretend I'm Taffyta or whoever it is in front of you."

She snapped on her goggles, fixing them even thought they didn't need it. Grasping her steering wheel, she looked at Rancis who nodded in understanding.

A little red jeallybean ran up, jumped in front of them, than ran off the track. Then a yellow. They were pretending to be the starting light. Finally the green leaped across and the two chibis shot forward.

The two were fighting for first place, that is until Vanellope got a power-up. She used the power-up and molasses went all over the track causing Rancis to fall a bit behind. But they weren't even close to Pockey Park yet, letting Rancis get a chance to get first.

Rancis looked for a way he could get ahead; he mainly looked for power-ups, rather than shortcuts, as there weren't many that could be spotted.

But surprisingly, he found one right next to a jellybean bush! As soon as he noticed it, he went down it, recognizing it from a bit after Turbo took over.

The shortcut was steep, but efficient. It prove helpful to the little blonde. While he speeded down, he came to a power-up. The glowing cube granted him speed, how lucky was he?

He rammed his chocolate boot down on the pedal, the RV1 jerking and taking off, popping out from behind two gummy trees further ahead.

Vanellope herself wasn't too far behind him. "What the...?" she was confused at what had just popped out from the trees.

Stepping harder on the gas pedal, she neared closer and noticed it was Rancis. "Must've found a short cut or somethin'..." she muttered.

She smirked to herself, revving her engine. "He just got lucky." And she dashed forward, quickly catching up to her chocolate crush (if it was still considered a "crush" when the other person knew about it and liked you back).

Rancis saw his sarcastic princess in the rear-view mirror. He grinned, pressing a firmer foot onto the gas pedal.

"Ya won't be winning for long!" Vanellope called, looking for any power-ups.

"Ha, in your dreams, Princess!"

"President!"

Rancis pulled further into the lead, daring Vanellope to catch up. But that was no trouble, the little glitch defiantly enjoyed the challenge. She raced forward, calling out.

"Fluggerbutter! I wanna show you something!"

Rancis sighed, looking back, cursing out the wind speed was so messing up his perfect hair. "What?"

Vanellope didn't respond. Instead, she burst into a small "poof!" of blue pixels. Rancis was shocked, not expecting his girl to pull that on him.

He looked forward a second later, realizing he was driving without knowing where. He was in time to witness Vanellope shoot out of air, blue pixels evaporating around her.

She squealed to a stop before hitting the pokey fences lining Pokey Park. "I win!"

Rancis pouted, a small scowl on his face. He managed to catch up with her, making his kart screech to a stop right in front of the fence.

"Cheater!" he declared, taking his hat off and fixing his hair in his kart's sideview mirrors.

The girl just laughed gleefully, "Awww, is wittle Rancis sad?" she asked in a baby voice.

"Not funny, V! Not funny!"

"Ah, ya know I'm teasing!" Vanellope responded.

When Rancis approved of how his hair appeared, he fixed his hat back on, grumbling, "At least the others can't glitch."

Vanellope jumped up, sitting on the hood of her half-baked kart. "Calm the bubbles down, I was just joking with you. C'mon, shouldn't it make you happy at the thought that if I hadn't glitched, I would have lost?"

Rancis sighed, "I guess so..."

"That's th' spirit!" the President grinned, moving to the side a bit. She patted the spot next to her, gesturing for Rancis to take a seat next to her.

Rancis hopped onto the kart next to his girl. "Yeah, yeah, yeah."

"Think I'll be good enough?" Rancis randomly asked.

Vanellope lightly bonked the blonde on the head, "No duh, fluggerbutt! You'll do great! Be a lap ahead of them all."

Rancis smiled, peerking up, "Then Ralph will be impressed and we can go out for real."

"That's the plan, man!" Vanellope winked.

Rancis chuckled, "C'mon, let's go race another round! No cheating this time, either!" he added.

"Tsh, I didn't cheat!" the President smirked in response.

"Did too."

"Nope."
