Hello guys!

I am terrible sorry for the long wait. It took me almost a month to write this chapter. I'll tell you why: I had an I-don't-want-my-story-to-have-a-shitty-ending kind of writer's block. No matter how many times I rewrite it, I still don't like this chapter, but, oh, well…

So many people came to vote for which story I should write next! Thank you, guys, really!

Thanks to everyone who favorited, followed and reviewed so far!

Hope you guys enjoy it!

Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot.

Chapter 21 - Dream

She didn't even know anymore for how long she has been running. She couldn't see anything around her. It was so dark. She didn't know where she was; she didn't know what was behind her or what was in front of her. She couldn't tell if she had left her starting point. She was scared, lost and tired.

"So dark..." The need to cry she was feeling right now could ruin her reputation.

"Rin…" she heard someone calling her name, "Rin…" again, and it kept repeating, as if it was an eco.

"Lola? Yes, it's her voice!" Rin turned to the direction the voice was coming from, but she couldn't see anything.

Lola kept calling her name and even if Rin couldn't see anything in front of her, the voice was guiding her as if it was creating a path. The exit of the dark place was there, from where her mother's voice was coming. Rin started too run.

"Mom... Mom... I'm coming... Please, keep calling my name!"

"Ah, Rin..." Lola sighed, closing the book that was in her hands.

One week. For a week she was being forced to see her daughter, always so strong and lively, lying on that bed looking so vulnerable. Rin's coma had already lasted for a week and she gave no sign that she was going to wake up. Lola looked at the instrument that showed Rin's heart beat. Knowing her daughter's heart was still beating was the only thing that gave her confort. The woman looked at the book she was reading out loud a few seconds later. Snow white and the seven dwarfs.

"You're probably angry at me for reading such a kid book, right?!" the woman gave a small laugh, "But, do you remember? I used to read this book for you when you're a child and was sick in bed. You loved the story…"

"Lola?" the woman looked at the door, from where the voice was coming.

"Oh, Leon… I was reading a book for Rin…" the man smiled.

"Len just arrived, honey, we can go home now."

"Hmm... He is sure that he wants to stay here tonight? I mean, he has been sleeping in this uncomfortable chair for a week already. He needs to rest at an comfortable bed, I can stay here tonight."

"No, he is pretty obstinate to stay with Rin. You know…" Lola smiled at what Leon was implicating.

"Fine then." Lola took her stuff and gave Rin a kiss on her forehead, "I'm going now, sweetie, tomorrow I'll be back."

So, Lola and Leon left the room, at the same time as Len entered, being alone with the sleeping girl.

When Leon learned about Rin accident, he immediately canceled his appointments and took a flight to go back home. He couldn't let Lola alone, this time, Len wouldn't be enough to comfort her. When Leon arrived, he noticed his son was even in a worse condition than Lola's, and that was when he realized what was happening there. After talking with Lola, he decided he shouldn't get involved in his son's feelings. It was pretty obvious what he felt for Rin.

"Hey, Rin," said Len, sitting at the chair beside Rin's bed, "I found out your friends came to visit you today while I was at my job. Did you have fun with them? I bet yes… You have really good friends, Rin. So, you need to get better soon, for them as well, okay?"

"You have really good friends, Rin. So, you need to get better soon, for them as well, okay?"

This time, it wasn't her mother's voice Rin heard, but Len's. When she listened to how desperate he sounded, Rin started to run even faster. Why did his voice sound closer than her mother's, but at the same time, so far?

"Len, don't you want to have some vacations? At east while Rin's situation doesn't get better," said Miku to her employee, whom was sitting in front of the counter, looking extremely dejected.

"I thank you for your concern, Miku, but I'm fine. Even if I stay at the hospital, there's nothing I can do for Rin. It's better for me to stay here, where I can be useful and they to distract myself," said Len, laying his head on the counter again.

"If... If you think so, then, it's fine. It has been two weeks already, huh?" asked Miku washing some plates and glasses, the movement at the café was pretty slow that day.

"Yes, two weeks and no sign that she is going to wake up... You know, Miku, I was thinking about what you told me. I should really have confessed what I feel before, no?" Len gave a sour laugh.

"Well, no one could imagine that something like that would happen. But you can get something good from this situation. Never is too late to try, right?" the woman smiled gently at the boy.

"Hmm..."

"Lola..." said the boy when he saw the sleeping woman.

"Oh, Len, it's you…" the woman woke up and stretched out, "It's already that late?"

Len, because of this work, generally would get late at the hospital, only enough to spend the night with Rin. Lola smiled when she saw Leon at the door and took her stuff to leave.

"Good night, Rin," she said giving her daughter a kiss in the forehead, "Good night to you too, Len." saying that, Lola followed Leon to the hospital's exit.

Len sat at the chair that Lola was sitting seconds ago and started to read a book. Some minutes later, he realized that he wasn't going to be able to concentrate at what he was reading, because his mind kept going back to what Miku had said that afternoon.

Giving up trying to read, Len put down that book and stared at Rin, whom was sleeping at the bed without a care about the world around her. She looked so calm. Len dragged the chair closer to the bed and took her hand.

"Hey Rin, can you hear me?" he whispered to her, " You know, today I had a talk with Miku… And in the end, I realized that maybe I had waited for too long…" Len took Rin's hand to his cheek, she was so cold, "It looks like I'll have to wait more now, but… You need to wake up soon, okay? You need to promise me that you'll wake up soon so I can tell that I love you… I love you, Rin…"

Len kissed Rin's hand and, while he stared at her, waiting and praying for her to have some reaction, he ended up falling asleep.

She felt as if she was gettin closer and closer to that place's exit. She could hear so many different voices that were helping to guide her to the right path. She didn't have a way to know what time was that, she didn't know if it was day or night, but she knew that, what seemed some hours ago, she had heard Rei, Gumi and her mother's voices. Even Lean, whose voice she hadn't heard for such a long time, she had listened that time. The voice she was listening to now was Len's voice.

"You need to wake up soon, okay? You need to promise me that you'll wake up soon so I can tell that I love you… I love you, Rin…"

Rin stopped running when she heard Len's sweet voice saying those words. This dream she was having, until this moment, was a terrible nightmare, but when she heard those words, it turned the best dream she had ever had in her entire life.

What a great dream…

When she realized he wasn't going to saying anything more, Rin felt as if Len was getting farther away from her and she felt even more alone than she was before. She started to run and this time, she run faster into the direction his voice had disappeared.

"I love you too!"

"I Love you too..."

Lola stopped reading the book she had in her hands when she heard that whisper. Was her tired mind playing tricks on her? But no, she was sure of what she had heard. She approached Rin's bed.

"Rin? Rin, sweetie, are you awake?" she asked, but had no reply, "Maybe she is talking in her sleep."

Lola felt the need to cry when she noticed her daughter's eyes opening slowly. Rin blinked three time, trying to get used to the light at the place. Slowly, she turned her face to her mother, whom now was openly crying.

"Mother?" she raised her hand, but was too weak and let her arm fall again. Lola took the same hand and caressed it with her thumb.

"Yes, it's me, sweetie. How are you feeling?" Lola asked, trying to stop to cry.

"I feel pain…" Lola smiled sympathetically at her daughter, "Where am I?"

"You're at the hospital, sweetie. Do you remember what happened?"

"Hmm… hey mom…"

"Yes, honey?"

"I was dreaming…"

"You were? So, was it a good dream?"

"Yes… It was a great dream…"

Rin had woken up during morning time. The doctors took Lola out of the room to check how Rin's condition was. Now it was night time, almost the time that Len would arrive from his job, Lola wanted to call him when he left school, but, for some reason, Leon stopped her, "Let it be a surprise," he said.

Some hours before, the investigators responsible for Rin's case arrived at the hospital and asked to talk with Rin. The mother tried to stop them, but Rin herself said she wanted to answer their questions.

"Well, Mrs Kagamine, apparently Rin can remember everything that happened that day and she told us every detail of what happened. With her testimony, we can move a process against Mr Shimoda."

"I see..." it was all Lola reply. She wasn't really interested in that now, all she could think was to celebrate her daughter coming back.

"Mr and Mrs Kagamine," the doctor that was taking care of Rin called, " Your daughter is fine. Even now that she had awakened, she won't be able to leave the hospital because of her injuries. She is still feeling too much pain, so she was given some medicine and now she's sleeping."

"Oh, it's fine then. Thank you, doctor," Lola replied.

Len had panicked when he entered the hospital and saw those cops and the doctor talking with his father and Lola. But the woman told him to rest assured, that nothing bad had happened.

Now, he was sitting beside Rin at her room. She was sleeping like all the other day he had been there. Len sighed and took the book he brought to keep himself distracted while he was there. Different from the day before, this time he could concentrate at what he was reading. After some minutes, he started to hear some noises coming from Rin's bed, when he took his eyes from the book, he froze.

Rin opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling. Her body was numb, but she wasn't feeling any pain, maybe it was the effect of the medicine the doctors gave her that afternoon. Slowly, she sat up, testing if it would hurt. It was when she heard the sound of something falling into the ground. Startled, she looked at her side.

"Len?" she asked, but the only reply she got was a sudden Kiss.

Rin was surprised and wasn't understanding the situation. Was she still dreaming? Dream or not, she didn't lose time and started to return the kiss. When they got out of breath, they separated and Len hugged Rin tightly, his head laying on her shoulder.

"Oh my God, Rin... You woke up..." Rin was confused. She had woken up in the morning, why was he acting as if he didn't know? "I swore that I wouldn't wait anymore! I Love you Rin!"

Len started to leave butterfly kissed all around Rin's face, repeating how much he loved her over and over. Rin only stayed without reaction, trying to absorb what was happening. When Len finally seemed to be satisfied, Len simply hugged her again.

"Ouch..." Rin moaned in pain when he touched the region of her broken rib.

"Oh, I'm sorry…" Len let her go and help her to lay back in the bed again.

"So it wasn't a dream…" Rin whispered. After some minutes of awkward silenced, she talked again, " hey, Len?""

"Hm?"

"I love you too," said Rin smiling.

Sorry if there are too many mistakes, weird sentences or some Portuguese in the middle of the English.

Hey, I made Rin wake up so fast! You can kill me now!

I hate writing this kind of romance filled scenes. I find them cheesy. And this chapter happens to be the cheesiest thing you will find out there :V

And the cliché, ah, the cliché! Well, at least Rin doesn't have amnesia, this would be too cliché for me to live haha

I don't know if you guys noticed, but this story has been pretty Rin-centric xD
