"So, how does it go?" The voice on the other side asked.

"Perfect! Just as we predicted." A guy wearing a blue cap answered with a wicked smile.

"Hmm…"

"Now we are going to proceed with the next step. Did you manage to convince that old man to do it?"

"Yes. He'll do his job very soon."

A dark chuckled escaped from the guy's lips. "He has no idea what he has signed for isn't it?"

"Why, of course. After all, who else he can depend on other than me?"

"Definitely, since you are the one that he can solely trust, Nakajima Lee."

Time passed in a blink of eyes. When you realized, it's already reached the early of December. The weather was starting to be cold and until one point, it can even freeze your whole body. Despite the coldness that enveloping almost the whole body, it actually doesn't affecting any activities to be done at all; people still go out in order to do their respective jobs and fulfill their responsibilities. Yes, no matter what; work is still waiting for every single person walking on the surface of the earth and this statement also applied to a certain policeman.

"Damn! Why am I the one that always being the one that need to buy the lunch?!" Kagami Taiga grumbled as he scratched his head. He is just another regular cops but people tend to know and recognize him easily due to his ridiculous height that reached until 190cm, a crimson locks with a darker shade and finally, his stupidity that sometimes know no boundary. He fastened his pace while hugging himself as he realized that the weather was starting to become even colder that it freezing him into the bones.

At last he reached his destination; Maji Burger. He decided to buy their meals from the fast food restaurant. Stepping inside, he released a relieved sigh because the coldness already was being reduced by the heater in the place. Since it was not the lunch time yet, the place was less occupied and kind of empty with just few customers around.

"Welcome to Maji Burger mister. What would you like to have?"

"Hmm… Give me all these sets in menu and make it triple." Kagami placed his order nonchalantly to the girl at the counter that seemed a bit shocked hearing his ludicrous order.

"Su-sure." She nodded. "Urmm.. this might take a time so you might have a seat first. We'll inform you once the order is done." She informed after a few seconds.

Kagami just nodded before he walked to find a seat in the place. "Hmm… I hope they will not take a long time though." He muttered to himself as he spun the chair. Then Kagami was taking his time to scroll his cellphone to call Tatsuya but unfortunately his phone was switched off. Kagami frowned as he stared the screen before he decided to just call Alex.

"Hello, Alex! This is me, Taiga." He said after hearing a respond from the other side.

"Hmm… Taiga? It is rare for you to call me. Did something happen?"

"Nothing actually.." He scratched his head before started to speak again. The call quickly escalated into an almost long conversation. It's been a long time since he last called the American woman so they talked about many things; Alex's eyes therapy, Tatsuya's new job and also his new works. Their main topic regarding the recent incident in a certain hospital. The hospital owned by a famous businessman and it was one of the best hospitals in Japan because the charges they were giving much cheaper than any other hospitals despite of their complete and modern technologies and treatments. But just a week ago, there was causality happened when one of the store rooms suddenly exploded and caused it to burn. The fire spread to the entire level and it caused another explosion that affected the level above. Luckily, there was no patience was occupying there, so no death was reported. The report stated that it was caused by wrong circuit so the case was closed immediately but soon after that, one of the patience there claimed that the fire and explosion were not merely an incident and he demanded a further investigation. Thus, the task was given to his squad.

"… so there's someone… or something behind the incident you said?" Alex asked.

"Who knows? It merely is still a speculation by the higher. Besides, we don't have enough proof and there even no witness found." Kagami shrugged. "Though, I feel like they are hiding something from us."

"What do you mean?"

"There is something fishy in the report handed to us."

"Oh, oh! This seems interesting. Can you e-mail me the report later?" Alex's respond sounded a bit enthusiastic. Kagami can practically imagine her sparkled eyes right now.

Kagami contemplated. "… okay. But make sure to keep it hush." As a police, he was not supposed to tell someone else anything about their jobs, yet Alex was an exception, at least for Kagami since that woman was his master in martial arts and she actually was smarter than her looks. She was working as a reporter for crime incidents and has a lot of connection with Underworld.

"Yayy! I love you, Taiga. Even though I can't kiss you right now, how about I give you my flying kiss? Muaahh!" Alex said happily.

"Huh? Stop it! You disgust me!" Kagami yelled. He heard Alex chuckled on the other side. Damn!

"Yes, yes! Hey, you know what I just been assigned to this job where-" Her sentence was cut by a loud scream.

"Arghh! Since whe-"

"What's wrong, Taiga? Something happen?"

"Sorry, Alex! I'll call you later." Then the call was ended. He put the black-colored cellphone on the table before directing his gaze to a girl that was casually sitting across him.

"Since when have you been sitting here?!" He half-yelled towards the girl.

"Since a while. Well, actually I have been sitting here for 10 minutes." The girl sipped her drink nonchalantly.

Kagami's eyes widened. Seriously? How come he didn't realize that? He was supposed to be cautious and aware of his surrounding since he's a cop. And he always is. Did his idiocy was contagious that it has dulled his sense of awareness?

As if sensing Kagami's thought, the girl remarked calmly, "Don't worry about that. I have a low presence, that's why people tend to miss me easily."

"You're kidding me?!" The cops growled, leaning his back on the chair. Is that even possible? He stared the ceiling less than five seconds before averting his eyes back to the girl. He stared her; her appearances consisted of cerulean hues, long baby-blue locks and pale yet fair complexion. And the red head cop can't help but think that she is very beautiful. That thought made his cheeks reddening a bit.

'Damn.' The cop cursed himself inwardly.

"Something wrong?" The girl asked monotonously.

"Ah sorry! Anyway, mind telling me why are you here?" He asked her back as he scratched his head awkwardly, trying to be calm as he can.

The blue-haired girl didn't answer; instead she pointed her finger at three Maji Burger plastic bags located on their table. "The girl at the counter called for you many times but you didn't hear so I said I'll bring them for you instead."

"Thanks." Kagami said slowly. He didn't really know what to say to prolong the conversation.

"Oh, and I already paid for you so you don't have to worry. Just pay me back if we ever meet again. Bye" The girl added as she stood up and threw her already-empty cup of vanilla milkshake into a dustbin near their seat before walking away from the seemingly-dumbfounded cop.

Five minutes passed and Kagami was still in daze and after another minutes passed he blinked. He stared the seat in front of him and the girl was no longer there. Without wasting the time, he grabbed the meals and sauntered out of the restaurant hurriedly. He better forget what just happened so he can spend his focus on works.

In the middle of walking Kagami stopped abruptly. 'I forgot to ask her name or number. Ah, whatever. I'll just pay her back later.' With that he fastened his pace to reach the station back; he better hurry for his seniors can be very scary if they are hungry.

Akashi just returned to his office when the phone decided to ring. He calmly crept to the desk and answered the call.

"Yes?"

"Akashi-sama, I'm sorry for bothering you but there's someone want to meet you." A voice quickly informed the red head.

Akashi frowned, he doesn't remember having any guests today but he responded to his worker nonetheless. "Okay. Let that person in." He ended the call.

After a while, he heard a knock sound at the door before the doorknob was twisted; revealing a middle-aged man that Akashi recognized easily.

"Ah, Mr. Lee. What an honour." He greeted.

Tetsuki stared her laptop screen blankly. Her beautiful face remained unreadable but if one was to squint a bit hard, it can be seen that the woman's eyebrow twitched in an annoyance. The Google engine search showed 'no search found on…'. Tetsuki didn't feel like giving up, instead her slender fingers started tapping the keyboard again. Almost 20 minutes passed after that but the result was still the same. She sighed inwardly and closed the laptop after shutting it down. After a while she stood and walked to the door without forgetting to bring along a certain file that was previously located beside the laptop.

The spacious living room was empty when Tetsuki entered. She was pretty sure that Akashi was already home since an hour ago. They didn't go to the red head's office together today since Akashi gave her the day off and told her that she is free to do anything she wants. Seeing that it's futile to stay in the living room any longer, she decided to head towards the latter's bedroom.

Akashi just finished showering and he was topless with a towel hanging around his neck when Tetsuki decided to enter his room. Today's work really took a heavy toll on his body. He's been very busy lately and barely had the time to relax because he's working so hard to get a tender offered by one of his most important clients. There's too much things to be worked on and to be settled on. It's quite luck that there's not much things happened in the Underworld these past months other than few regular cases that were handled by his subordinates. Akashi sauntered to his queen-sized bed and sat upon it. He looked at Tetsuki that was standing near the door but said nothing nonetheless. Akashi then closed his eyes as an attempt to rest and he didn't even reacted when he felt a sudden movement at the bed. Suddenly he felt warmth coming from his back and realized that the hanging towel at his neck was gone.

"What are you doing?" He asked softly at the blue-haired woman with his still-closed eyes. The latter had her hands on Akashi's head with the towel between.

"Drying Akashi-kun's hair." Tetsuki deadpanned. She gently wiped the towel at Akashi's wet locks. When the mismatched eyes man said nothing more, they were embraced by a comfortable silence after that.

"Done?" Akashi opened his eyes after he sensed that Tetsuki has retreated her hands from his hair.

"Hmm." Tetsuki nodded after she put the towel aside. Her void cerulean pupils roamed around the bedroom as Akashi stood up to get his top garment. The room was still the same; Akashi didn't change the decoration or the arrangement. Her eyes suddenly captured a sight of a luggage near the slide-cupboard with several things inside. Tetsuki shifted her gaze onto Akashi and found him already in a complete outfit.

"I'm going to fly to Canada tomorrow." Akashi said casually as if sensing what the Shadow wanted to ask. He crouched to take a few pairs of garments from the cupboard then removed the hangers. Then the clothes were threw on the queen-sized bed and landed not far from the sitting maiden. Akashi repeated the same action; completely ignoring the hard stare directed to him.

"You didn't tell me. I haven't packed my things yet."

"Because you don't have to."

Tetsuki narrowed her soulless cyan irises to Akashi that had his back facing her, her stares became harder and she knew that the latter realized it. Before she had the chance to ask more, Akashi turned around and walked to her.

"Have you found the information that I ordered you to find, Tetsuki?" Akashi asked as his hand reached for the file that was lying on the night-stand beside the bed. He scanned the contents inside; skimming page by page before closing it back. "I guess not."

Tetsuki stared Akashi for a good two minutes. "I searched at every possible place that I can think of but it looks like they already erased all the documents."

"It's okay then. Just forget about it."

"You sure?"

Akashi hummed as response. Tetsuki said nothing afterwards. The red head decided to continue packing up his stuffs and after 10 minutes he was done. Tetsuki was still there until he raised his eyebrow.

Tetsuki stared the owner of the heterochromatic eyes. Her eyes reflected nothing yet the latter can actually guess what's in her mind.

"No need to worry, Tetsuki. The plan is still going to work even if I go alone."

Tetsuki frowned for a good few minutes before she finally sighed. "Fine."

Akashi smiled as he sauntered over the bed. The bed creaked a bit once the Shadow lied upon it. An audible sigh escaped from his lips as he closed his eyes; relishing the warmth of the bed.

Tetsuki who was still sitting at the edge of the bed just stare emptily towards the red head. She can see how the works took a heavy toll on his body.

"Sleeping already?" She asked after a while.

A hum was she got as a response before her ears caught a light snore coming from the other person. She stood up and walked to the doors. She stared the sleeping red head for a few seconds before closing the door after switching off the light.

"Night." She whispered into the air before heading back to her room.

Once she's in the room, she reached her cellphone and dialed a certain number. It didn't take long for the call to be answered.

"…yes. Hello…? Who is this?" Came a sleepy voice.

Tetsuki frowned. Why was the voice belonged to a woman when it was supposed to be a guy?

"Ah, yes. May I speak with the owner of this number?"

She didn't get any answer but her ears caught the voice of the unknown woman talking to someone else. After a minute, another voice came.

"Kurokocchi~ What's up?"
