For the next couple of days the only songs I listened were from Starship. First I'd listen to Get Back Up, then Kick it Up A Notch (both the song and the reprise. Brian just made me laugh.) It just described my moods perfectly. When Joe found out he was sympathetic. Both him and Evanna knew what it was like to be in my shoes and me in theirs. One morning though I was just better. I picked myself up and moved on. It was just how it was. The next day however was awful. I got sick. The morning I couldn't move. I felt like I was going to throw up. Funny enough I did. My head pounded every time I moved my head, shut my eyes, opened my eyes, and breathed.
"Evaaaannnnna." I wailed. She walked in a minute later.
"Uck what is that stench?" She plugged her nose.
I pointed to the trash can that stood next to my bed.
"I threw up."
"I can see and smell that." She said with her plugged nose. "Okay ummm I'm gonna get some Lysol along with some crackers. I want you to dump that bucket in the toilet the best you can without puking again and make it to the couch."
I nodded. I shuffled into the bathroom. The smell of my own puke made me feel dizzy. I did what I was told and three minutes later I was on the couch with heavy eyelids. Evanna handed me some crackers.
"Nibble on these and take a nap." I nodded again.
Evanna put on some nature sounds and I was out like a light.
By the time I woke up it was mid afternoon. I felt much better than this morning but still awful. My headache was now a small nuisance. But the first thing I did was throw up those crackers. I wrinkle my nose at my own body fluids. I wrapped myself in my blanket. There was a knock at the door. Feeling strong I stood up and answered it. It was Denny.
"Hi Denny." I sniffled.
"You look awful." He pointed out.
"Tank you." I replied sarcastically.
A moment later Evanna came out in a black skirt, wedges, a cute flowy tank, hoops with her hair up. She looked hot.
"Oh Anna you're up! Alright I made you soup it is in the microwave, Finding Nemo, Up, and Ratatouille are in the DVD player, and Joe should be showing up any minute now."
Everything she said made me feel so grateful. I shuffled over and hugged her.
"Tank you." I said with my stuffy nose. She smiled.
"Get off me before I catch whatever you have." She laughed. "Oh I forgot my purse." She disappeared back into her bedroom. I stared at Denny for a moment.
"Take care of my angel." I warned.
"I will." He replied firmly.
"Or I'll kick your ass." I threatened. "Well not this condition but you know what... Screw it I'm eating some soup have fun!" I called as best as I could when Evanna came out. By the time I finished my soup I was at the jellyfish part of Nemo and Joe came. I turned to greet him.
"Aww you look terrible." He frowned. I rolled my eyes.
"Haven't heard tat one." He smiled warmly and sat on the couch with me. He ran his fingers through my hair, combing it, while I laid on him. The feeling was soothing on my headache and made it feel less there. Around the beginning of Ratatouille I fell asleep and woke up just in time for Up. After a little bit, my stomach felt uneasy. I turn to my bucket and looked back at Joe.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"I tink I have to throw up."
"Okay why aren't you."I pouted.
"I don't want to throw up in front of you it's gross."
He laughed while shaking his head.
"Okay well I have to pee anyway." He stands up and heads to the bathroom. While he was gone I puked my guts out, sprayed some Lysol and laid back down. Up ended and it started getting later.
"That's all the movies Evanna left for me."
"Well I know one that never fails." Joe said as he stood up and headed over to the movie cabinet. After a minute he pulled out The Breakfast Club.
"The Breakfast Club!" I cheered and snuggled my blanket closer to my chin. Watching The Breakfast Club never gets old. I know every line and I mouth it with the actors. My favorite character was Andrew. The ending started rolling around and I started crying. It always happens. Just when John Bender throws his fist in the air was just the perfect way to end it. The movie ended and it was 11:00. Joe was asleep, his head rested on his shoulder. I grinned as I replaced my pillow onto him and fell asleep myself, the soothing noise of Don't You Forget About Me fading away.
