Danny's pov
It was nearly midnight by the time I was on my plane. As we prepared for take off, I could have sworn I heard what sounded like Mira squealing. I shook my head, perhaps I would be missing my new friends here more than I anticipated. Anyway, we were flying over New York now.
It was beautiful. Kun'Lun, is so different then the outside, no matter how many times I make the trip, it still amazes me. See, Kun'Lun is beautiful in the sense of a magic place...grand and majestic, very royal. New York is beautiful in the sense of people, there is so much life teeming on the streets and so much sound, so many lights.
I smiled, staring out my window, I could not wait to tell the team about my journey.
"I told you Web-Head! I didn't do it!" An angry Sam was shouting at Peter. In the Tricarrier, they were both dressed in civil clothes.
"Look Sam, I know that you did it! Now tell me how you plan on fixing it, so that I can get back to Aunt May!" Peter retorted.
"Gaahh! You are such a...a...GEEK!" Sam huffed in aggravation.
"A geek? Really? I think you might need to loosen your bucket," Pete sneered. I walked in on silent feet and stood perfectly still, waiting to make some kind of entrance.
"You know, if Danny was here right now, he'd be saying something about patience," Luke interrupted. I grinned, the perfect moment.
"Yeah well Danny isn't even here so-" Sam was saying.
"Patience, is a virtue," I said, coming between the two. I tried to keep a straight face, but I couldn't help laughing when Sam jumped backwards, and Peter jumped onto the ceiling. Ava walked in at that moment, and started laughing with Luke and I.
"What the? Danny!" Peter shouted, landing beside me. I grinned.
"Not cool dude, not cool!" Sam said, still on the floor.
"Hello friends," I greeted them. "What were you arguing about?"
"This!" Peter held up his Spiderman costume, and I saw that someone had written in marker: Nova Rules! I chuckled.
"I do not believe anyone else would be inclined to write that claim," I said, looking at Sam. He got up.
"I told him I didn't - Wait! Did you just insult me?" He asked. I shrugged casually.
"Perhaps you should expand your mind before asking the obvious..." I said.
"You did it again didn't you!"
"How was your trip man?" Luke asked me, changing the subject.
"It was...eventful," I started, deciding not to worry them with a mention of the disease. "I have even made new friends."
"Who are they?" Ava asked.
"Farligan, or Far, is very much like a combination of Sam and peter," I said. Pete and Sam glanced at each other for a moment, and shuddered. I chuckled.
"And Mira -"
"Nope, wait, hold everything!" Sam said. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but Mira is a girl name right?"
"Indeed..."
"Ooooooooohhhh! Danny's got a girlfriend!" He cackled maniacally as I blushed.
"She is not...we are not...I'm not her..." I stuttered. Now that Sam had said it out loud, I wondered about it. What were we to each other? Everyone laughed at my hesitation.
"Hey Ava, looks like you have some competition!" Sam snorted.
"You little-" Ava lunged at him with her claws. Sam danced out of the way and kept laughing until he was clutching his stomach, tears shining in his eyes. I remembered Far's present.
"Sam, I have brought you something from my friend Far," I said, holding out the box. Sam's eyes widened greedily as he snatched it from my hands. He ripped off the lid of the box and froze for a millisecond. A soft, white bunny with glowing red eyes hopped onto his lap, and nestled down against his stomach. Sam's mouth opened and closed.
Peter held up five fingers, he counted down. Five...four...three...two...
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" Sam shrieked, throwing the bunny off his lap, into the air. He ran and dived head-first behind the couch.
"What is going on in here! Oh, welcome back Danny," Fury walked in. I bowed.
"Anyway," Fury continued, "We have sight on two new kids. They're getting destroyed out there! By Batroc!" Fury cocked any eyebrow. Peter sighed, staring resentfully at his vandalized costume.
"Fine...lets go team," He sniffled, grabbing his costume and walking out. I cocked my head, these must be the new heroes Far had talked about.
Mira's pov
"I told you this was a bad idea!" I yelled at Far. He was currently aiming his bow at some crazy French guy who we were trying to stop.
"Leap!" French Guy jumped out of the way effortlessly and Far froze one of the Outside transportation vehicles. Again!
"Oops," He shrugged. We were dressed ridiculously. Far had made suits for us out of random things he found in his house. His was a grey and blue hoodie that he had sown to a pair of black sweatpants. He had on an old scarf with holes cut out for the eyes, and he taped it to the hood of his shirt to conceal his noticeable white hair.
I had a dark purple leotard under black leggings that only came to just under my knees. I had on a pair of shoes that I didn't mind getting dirty, ugly lime green boots. Under the leo, I had on one of Far's hoodies, with yellow and blue stripes, so that my own face and hair wouldn't be recognizable. And with an old scarf as a mask, I literally had on the world's most hideous and most uncomfortable costume, ever!
"Hey guys! Need some help?" We looked up to see a teenager with a blue and red suit. I guessed he was the popular Outside hero, Spiderman. Danny had told me the names of his friends, but not their super hero names, so I didn't really know who this kid was.
"No! We're totally good. We were just wrapping things up," Far lied. The French guy stopped as more heroes showed up. A broad-shouldered boy wearing black and yellow, a boy with a star shaped helmet thingy was flying, a girl with a white, spandex suit, and a blonde boy with a green suit and the Shao-Lao symbol on his chest. Danny! Far saw him too, and shot me a panicked glance.
"Not good..." I whispered. He nodded.
"Maybe we can practice our superhero thing with some other villain, in some other place, in some other time," He chuckled nervously. I saw Danny staring at us, but Spiderman didn't notice.
"So, who are you two?" He asked casually, as if French Guy was just a small annoyance. My cheeks went red in embarrassment and I was actually glad for Far's crazy disguise.
"We are...new heroes...from...the north!" Far stuttered. He pulled me closer and whispered, "You know we could have gotten him if you had used more of your witch powers!"
"I am not a witch, and I can fight without powers!" I said.
"Yeah ok, except this guy will not stand still enough for a regular battle!" He sighed. I swore I saw a hint of a smile on Danny's lips. But it was gone as fast as it came.
"Ahem!" Spiderman coughed awkwardly.
"Sorry, my partner is not feeling well because her powers have been altered by a radioactive substance called mutagen by our enemies the Kraang, which are evil space brains from Dimension x!" Far spoke so quickly and so confidently that I almost believed him. Spiderman and his team just kind of stood there trying to decipher what Far was saying. Now there was definitely a smile playing on Danny's lips.
"Yup well gotta go bye!" Far yelled as he grabbed my arm and ran with me into one of new York's endless alleys.
"That was close, I think Danny knows we're here," I said. Far shook his head.
"No way, he couldn't know!"
"I have to say, you might be a pain, and an idiot, and a slob, and a thief, and a-" I listed.
"I get it!"
"But you are good at lying, how did you come up with that stuff?" I asked. He grinned sheepishly.
"Actually that was kind of from a comic book..." He chuckled. I rolled my eyes.
"I should've figured. Anyway, did you bring any Outside money?" I asked. His eyes widened.
"Um..."
"FAR!"
"What do we need money for anyway?" He said. Both of our stomachs growled.
"Heh heh..."
"I can't believe you dragged me into this!" I huffed.
"Don't worry, it's fine! You happen to be looking at a master thief!" He said proudly. He started getting up. "Stay here, I'll be back."
"Wait Far, you better not leave me here all-" But he was already gone, "Alone..." I finished.
Hope you guys enjoyed, and yes, Far reads TMNT. Haha! To be fair, if you say anything a certain way, people will believe you, even if for a second. Review and thanks for reading! Anyway...
Wolf out...
