A couple of days later the shows were over and Joe came home. Everyone seemed to come back. The first thing everyone did was swarm me in a giant near hug. I had a little less that three weeks. And I was going to make a hell of a two and a day weeks now.
"We're not staying long here." Was one of the first things Joe said to me. I looked up at him confused.
"I really have nothing worth coming back to LA then, so when you leave, so do we."
I didn't know what to say. I don't think I was suppose to say anything. I just nodded. But a if it never happened he grinned as if nothing ever happened.
"Come on let's go!" He snatched my wrist and headed to the car having to grab ahold of his hat. Did I ever mention that he always wears a hat. Always. When we reached the car I noticed that the rest of the gang weren't following us.
"Where is everyone?" Obviously confused.
"Hailed a cab." He answered nonchalantly as he got into the driver seat.
"Where are we going?" I demanded.
"Pigfarts." He answered as he stared straight ahead.
"We can't go to Pigfarts. It's on mars! We need a rocket ship. Do you have a rocket ship Walker?" I quoted back to him. Nailed it. Joe smiled wide showing his teeth.
"You caught me we are not going to Pigfarts." He laughed.
After about a half hour of me begging to ask where we were going, we arrived.
"Disneyland!" I exclaimed.
"Disneyland." He answered. "I don't know how you don't figure it out before I mean we passed signs." He added. I crossed my arms and pouted.
"Hey now," he told me staring at my unhappy face. "There is no frowning in Disneyland."
I rolled my eyes but smiled.
"Fine." I grumbled.
The first thing we went on was Space Mountain. It also had the longest line. Then Splash Mountain. Then the both again. Lots of mountains. Then we ate. Joe had those disgusting Turkey legs. I had funnel cake. Then we went on a Nemo themed ride and bought a stuff Nemo. Worth it. After for good measure we went back on Splash Mountain. Then I met princesses. I MET PRINCESSES. First I met Cinderella, then Sleeping Beauty, then Rapunzel. I had the greatest time with Naveen and Tiana. Then I met Merida. Out hair matched. I met princesses. Nothing could ruin that day. Disneyland was magical. We stayed 'til the late hours of the night riding rides over and over such as Pirates of the Caribbean. When it got dark and more people left the fireworks started like every night. They were beautiful. They did this display on the castle with Toy Story and Monsters Inc and Up. Oh Up. They made the castle look like balloons. It was stunning. We stood there in front of the lighting castle in awe.
"So did you have fun on your surprise trip?" Joe asked as if I didn't.
"Are you kidding me? I loved it!" I exclaimed. I giggled at the sight of Ariel with Prince Eric on the float. I laughed again. I felt like a child! A lovely, innocent child. I turned back to Joe who was also admiring the fireworks. His face light up every time they exploded. He held me closer by the waist and the world seemed like there was only the two of us. None of the swarming families trying to beat the crowd. Just us admiring out childhood. But my favorite moment was the one that came after. Joe kissed me right in front of the Cinderella's castle, right when a firework bursted. Even the cornyness of Disney movies are here. And this was one of them. Best. Day. Ever.
