That day I slept in late. I was still running on the adrenaline from last night. I was planning on sleeping. And I did. All day. Until I had to go to work which was physically and mentally exhausting so that night I got my sleep schedule back on track. The next morning I got a phone call from Joe.

"Hey!" I answer

"So I heard you had a mental breakdown..." He started. What a conversation starter.

"Uhh yeah it was nothing. I just went crazy with reading is all. Nothing major." I tried to sound calm. There was no way in hell I was going back down that road. I still read pretty constant but I wasn't crazy.

"Just making sure. Don't want you to jump off a bridge or anything."

"Don't have to worry I am terrified of bridges in itself." I joked. I heard him chuckle.

"Alright crazy see you later." And he hung up.

The next day was another lonely one. I wasn't expecting anyone so I just chilled at the flat with the TV blaring. I felt like a rebel when I did that.

I was just siting on the couch watching some Ninja Turtles when suddenly I went blind by a hand covering my eyes. I panicked and if there was one thing I learned from my Girl Scout self defense camp was a left hook.

"Left hook!" I battle cried before I stood up and punched the mysterious figure. Someone wailed in pain. I knew that voice. Hitting him obviously made his hands come off my eyes. And that's when I realize I had just punched my boyfriend in the face.

"Oh my god Joe!" I cried rushing to his side, I clapped my hand over my mouth in shock. Joe was laying on the ground rubbing his jaw.

"You just socked me in the jaw!" He said stunned.

At first I was mortified, but as Joe started to get up I realized how funny it was. I choke back a giggle behind my hand. A small laugh escaped my lips. Then another. When I couldn't take it I cracked up, fits of laughter escaped me. I clenched my stomach for air I was laughing so much. After a moment Joe started laughing too.

"I just punched you in the face!" I laughed in between breaths. Joe chuckled, still rubbing his jaw line.

"Yeah you pack a mean left hook." He agreed.

"Girl Scout camp 10th grade." I told him.

"Damn you Girl Scouts are badass."

I nodded. I walked closer and examined his jaw.

"I totally bruised it." I said. I could see some purple and blue form already. "I'll get you some ice." I rush to the kitchen and pulled out an ice pack.

"Mr. Bear never fails." I handed him the ice pack with the stuffed bear on the back.

"It still hurts." He grumbled playfully. I rolled my eyes. He looked down at me with his best puppy dog eyes.

"My mom always said that kisses were the best medicine." He batted his eyelashes twice for good measure. I rolled my eyes again. I pressed my lips to his jaw and pulled back.

"I don't know if it worked maybe you should try again." He smirked. I death glared him. Not shifting my glare at him I kissed his jaw again.

"You missed a spot." He smiled smugly.

"Where!" I demanded.

"Here stupid." He replied before pulling me into a real kiss. It only lasted for a second for then his hand went back to his jaw.

"Jesus!" He cried.

"Sorry." I smiled sheepishly.

"I don't care." He admitted before kissing me again. Again he pulled back I agony.
"Scratch that I do care this hurts."

"Should I take you to a hospital?" I asked concerned. I didn't know how serious jaws were. Was it worth going to the hospital?

"No no." He answered standing up. "I'll be fine just won't use my jaw for a while just in case." I felt terrible now. You use your jaw to eat and talk. I told him this.

"I will have mash potatoes and applesauce and I always wanted to go mime for a day. Starting now!" And for the rest of the night he didn't. I made him mash potatoes and applesauce. After dinner we laid on the couch and watched Phineas and Ferb until we both fell asleep.

The next morning when I woke up I forgot where I was. I freaked out a little then I remembered. I am not the only one where that happens right? Nevertheless I woke up and examined Joes injury. There was definitely bruising but it wasn't terrible. I am just glad I didn't break it. I poked Joe in the face until he woke up.

"Ehh." He groaned before he got up. He rubbed his jaw before he sat up.

"How is it?" I asked.

"Better." He responded. "The boys are never going to let me live this down." I laughed.

"Pshh I'm never going to let you live this down!" I laughed. Joe glared. His glare only made me laugh more. Heh I punched him in the face.
