Reviewers:

TheImmortalWeapon: First off, yes. Yes someone can say it. And I know the story was sad, but so is every good hero's origin story. Well...maybe not the ones Deadpool makes up. Either way, a few of your ideas are correct and no, you're not bad at reviewing! Keep reading!

IronFistRocks: Thaaaaaannnnks! Lol. You're review reminded me of Tony the Tiger from frosted flakes. Keep reading and reviewing!

Danny's pov

"So how are things with Mira?" Far asked me.

"How do you mean?" We were in my room. I was on the floor, having just finished meditating. Far was on the bed playing a handheld video game that he'd borrowed from Sam.

"You know. Have you guys made out yet? How much do you rate her on a scale of one to ten?"

"Actually no, we have not made out yet," I said with a pointed glare at him. "And I do not believe in rating and labeling others."

"Do you love her?"

"What?" The question surprised me with its bluntness.

"Do you love her?"

"I...I think so..." My voice betrayed my uncertainty.

"You think?"

"I don't know Far. I want to love her...but...I don't know," I sighed. "Why do you ask?"

"Oh you know, just wondering. I personally think Ava is much hotter," He said it so casually I almost missed it.

"Ava?"

"Uh-huh. Daddy likes him some kitty cat," Far said in a deep voice.

"But...but she can't like you!" I blurted. I blushed. "You're not her type!"

"What's her type?"

"I don't know. Studious, sophisticated probably. Gentlemanly, but someone who challenges her. Not you," I listed.

"You?" Far asked coyly.

"No! Ava is like my sister!" I said perhaps a little too shrilly. Far just laughed.

"Whatever Romeo."

"What's that supposed to mean?" I challenged. He got this mischievous glint in his eyes.

"It's a love triangle dude," He said.

"What?"

"Nothing. You'll understand when you're older," He cackled evilly.

"Hey guys, Fury wants us for training," Mira poked her head into the room. Far jumped up and stood on my bed, his hand perched on his forehead. His face was an expression of mock horror.

"Mira! You can't just walk in like this! What if we had been naked!" He yelled theatrically, waving his hands to an imaginary audience.

"Together? Besides, I could sense that you two were just sitting here, probably about to leave anyway," Mira said matter-of-factly. I nodded and smiled.

"Indeed. I will accompany you while Far...finishes up," I chuckled.

"Don't stay out too long you crazy kids!" He waved his fist at us, and finally cracked up, almost falling off the bed.

"So Danny, about the other night...I'm sorry. I really am," She whispered, all traces of a smile gone.

"Care to tell me what you were talking about?"

"I...My powers once did a very bad thing to someone I cared about. I guess my dreams just reminded me of that."

"Will you stay on the team?"

"Yes. I can't have you and Far running around without me. Who knows what could happen," She teased. I smiled.

"But..." I sensed a catch.

"But...I want to only use my magic to a minimum. Only if I have no choice. I want to learn how to fight for real," She stated.

"You'll have to find a teacher," I smirked.

"Indeed."

"One who you're comfortable being around all the time."

"Indeed."

"One who knows something about martial arts maybe?"

"Maybe."

"No one comes to mind," I grinned.

"I know someone," She shoved me. I grabbed her around the waist and pulled her close.

"Do you?"

"Yes. He's very good at fighting, very brave, and very humble. Although he can be infuriating sometimes," She smacked my head playfully.

"He sounds wonderful."

"He is," She looked up at me. Her eyes were more green than brown, that meant she was happy. I brushed her hair out of her face, realizing I was still holding her. We were in the middle of a hallway. Anyone could just come by. Fury was probably watching us on a security camera. I buried my face in her hair.

"After," I whispered. I didn't need to explain. I felt her nod and together we ran the rest of the way to the training room.

It only occurred to me later that someone had been, in fact, watching us.

Mira's pov

I was going to be a fighter! Not a witch! Not anymore! Can you say loophole?

Danny and I arrived to the training room second to last. Far came in after. With a sigh, Fury started up the room.

"Today's exercise will focus on how well you interact with nature's most dangerous beasts," Fury said.

"No offense Fury, but this is New York. Not Australia," Peter pointed out. Fury glared.

"I seem to remember a certain Spider going to Savage Land and almost getting eaten several times," He retorted. Peter gulped.

"Mira, watch me," Danny said. The room turned into a frozen tundra.

"What just happened?" I yelled in alarm.

"Don't worry, just Fury working his magic!" Peter called. My head cocked to the side.

"Like, real magic? Or the expression?" I asked.

"Expression! It's all part of the training program!" Luke answered me.

Air vents made the temperature drop. We heard growling. Out of nowhere, about ten wolves ran at us.

"Wolves?" I yelped.

"Robots!" Sam corrected. Danny got into his stance and I tried to copy him.

"Adjust your weight so that it's focused evenly on both legs," Danny smiled. I did as he said and found it easier to stay still. The wolves stalked closer and closer. Two broke off and went to stand in front of Luke. One went to Peter and three positioned themselves below Sam. Ava, Far, Danny and I had one wolf each.

Mine was a female, slightly shorter than Danny's male wolf, and slighter of build. Her legs looked more powerful and her muzzle was shorter. She was a tawny/gold color with golden eyes. She was beautiful. She was deadly.

"GGGGGRRRRRRRRRR!" She snarled. She coiled the springs in her legs and leapt for my throat. What do I do!

I dodged. Danny was using quick and short palm strikes aimed at the wolf's snout.

I stared at my hand and tried to make it as hard as possible.

Suddenly a heavy weight made me fall on my face. The wolf was on my back. The air was knocked out of me. I moaned and tried to roll over. The wolf pinned me. No choice. I levitated it off of me and stood up. This time I would be ready. She bit my ankle and thrashed her head around. I screamed slightly and smacked her nose with the side of my hand. She let go.

My ankle was smeared with blood but it wasn't bad. I knew Danny could heal it. She ran again, bit into my side, let go and ran in a circle around me. Then she bit my arm and ran back to her circle. It's a relay attack. I noticed she was running in a pattern. She would circle once, and run in from a different clockwise angle.

I knew she had already run from my side.

I turned and sure enough, she was charging in from behind me. My hand shot out and hit her between the eyes. She was stunned. I stepped into my next blow, aimed at her ear. I grinned, I was getting it.

Meanwhile, Danny was dancing around his wolf and Far was freezing his with his bow. Peter had webbed his up and Ava was on all fours, copying the wolf's tactics. Luke punched his in the face. Sam was having trouble with his wolves because they were faster than his attacks. Finally they ran up a fake hill and jumped, latching their teeth onto Sam's legs. He was dragged to the floor. Peter ran in to help.

"This is insane!" I exalted. Danny laughed. He pinched his wolf on the neck and it fell to the ground, turning into a canine shaped robot. Suddenly a bloodcurdling howl peeled into the air. Ava was at her wolf's throat, slashing and cutting and even biting! Of course, no blood came out, but wires and chips were flying. The wolf's voice became lower and more machine-like until it powered down and in a sense, died.

Ava was panting, I noticed the amulet she wore on her hip was glowing. Her hair was tangled and matted and even her claws seemed sharper. Danny muttered something along the lines of life being sacred. I was in shock. Does this happen often? Can she do that to me!?

"Ava Ayaala! The object was to subdue your animal and if you had to kill it, to make it quick. You slaughtered that wolf! You're lucky it was a life model decoy!" Fury growled over the intercom.

"I...what? What happened?" Ava rubbed her head. Peter cast her a knowing glance and her eye plates widened.

"Did I lose control again?" She sighed sadly. Everyone but Far and I nodded.

"What made you lose your focus?" Danny asked her. She looked at me briefly.

"I can't remember," She said monotoniously. I sensed she was lying. My hand went to my locket for comfort and...nothing. It was gone. Where is it! Where did I-Ava's room!

With that thought I ran out of the training hall.

Yay! I finally finished this! Also, I know this is the second time I've used wolves. But I can't help it! They're my favorite animals along with red-tailed hawks! So bear with me guys! Oh and please review! I've not gotten very many reviews in the past two chapters so please! Anyway...

Wolf out...
