Hey guys! Super sorry for not updating last Sunday, but my internet and just FF in general was all over the place. Also, I know the last two or three chapters (and this one) are kind of upsetting. But hopefully, happier chapters will come in the future.
WARNING: Emotional roller coaster ahead. You must be over 48 inches (and have a box of tissues) to ride.

IronFistRocks: Yeah, sorry about that. XD, Thanks for reviewing!
Far's pov
You know those dreams where you're falling from impossibly high up? You can't scream loud enough and you can't see anything but sky. Spiraling down forever. Until, just before you splatter against the ground, you wake up sweating and gasping for breath. And then you laugh quietly at yourself at the rush of almost dying, even if it was just a dream.
Yeah.
That's how I felt.
Except there wouldn't be any waking up for me. And there would definitely be no laughing.
Mira, and Danny and I, all running around like headless chickens. Trying to find a guy who had just killed a man in under two seconds. And on top of it all, I was still paranoid that I'd turn into some metal-faced zombie in the middle of it.
My hand kept going up to my face. I was sure Danny noticed, but he didn't say anything. The way I saw it, one of us was going to die. I just had a feeling. I'm not stupid, if anyone was dying it would probably be me.
I have the worst luck in the world. And besides, not like the Kun'Lun Sweethearts would've missed me. They had each other. And what did I have? A disease. That's what.
I scratched nervously at my left eye, which was stinging. I was trying to stay calm, but it wasn't working. It's never good to be alone with your thoughts for too long.
"Are we there yet?" I asked. It's also never good to have everyone glaring and sighing at you. I stuck out my tongue. But they didn't see it because suddenly Danny was running and Mira was following and I was standing in their dust. Figures.
Danny's pov
Davos was in front of me, walking as nonchalantly as ever. I rushed him and grabbed him by the collar of his uniform. His eye gleamed.
"Daniel?"
"How could you! How could you lock us in that chamber of horrors? How could you be part of this concentration camp!" I yelled. My fists were heating up. He grinned.
"Concentration camp hmm? Interesting. Is that what this is?"
"I believe that you knew exactly what was behind those doors!"
"But how? I'm still alive." He was smiling widely. Almost beaming.
"What did you say?" I snarled in his ear. To be honest, I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do to him. But for now, holding him up seemed like a good option.
"Seize them! They know too much!" He screamed. From nowhere, the man with the darts and his entourage grabbed me. They pulled me away from Davos, forcing me to drop him. I looked behind me and saw that Far and Mira were also being contained. I ripped free and aimed a glowing punch at the nearest guard.
He went flying. A kick to the next one and a few more punches took care of about five of them. Mira was screaming my name. She was getting louder, more urgent. Then she stopped as I felt a small twinge of pain in my neck.
My hand went up to touch what felt like a short stick. The realization was shockingly clear.
I could die.
And in my dread I felt my legs giving out and my arms dropping to my side. I focused on healing myself as my vision went dark and pain exploded in my chest.
Mira's pov
Someone was screaming. It might have been me. I don't know. I saw Danny's body fall to the ground and heard screaming. But through the screams of terror I felt heat rising inside me. I slammed my feet onto those of the guy holding me. He laughed, low and cruel.
"Mira calm down!" Far was saying. I twisted and cried and squirmed. My back popped. Pain in my side. My shoulder creaked as I broke free of my guard's arms and ran to where Danny was. I focused on a healing spell and pressed a hand to his forehead. His breathing was labored, but this was different than that man, Yosuke. I hung on to that hope as heavy hands dragged me away.
I clawed at the ground and snarled and spit. My nails were bloody nubs. Their hands were around my waist, pulling me away. I shrieked and pounded a fist against the ground. A blast of purple light shot around us, dulling sound and feeling. Incredible pain shot through my body. I screamed louder than I've ever screamed. Raw emotion and terror.
My body was twitching and jerking, coursing with electricity. All I could do was wait for it to go away. Finally, blissfully, it did. The light cleared and I saw Far moaning on the ground, along with the guards. I went cold.
Not again. Oh please not again!
"I'm sorry," I mumbled, slurring my speech. "I'm so, so sorry."
Far rolled onto his side, staring at me with pained gray eyes.
"What is wrong with you? Huh?" He sneered. His voice was full of ice. I choked on a sob.
"I didn't mean to..."
"Yeah? Well now you've sabotaged us! What side are you on Mira? If Danny wasn't already dead than he probably is now! And these guards are going to get up, and give us an even worse punishment than they would have! Is that what you wanted Witch?" He asked. My heart was fit to burst, but I still found the space to be angry.
"Stop it! Don't act like some stupid moral compass Far! Ok, you mess up all the time! You've done bad things your whole life! So you're in no position to say anything to me!" I screamed at him. He was silent. He just looked at me.
"You're right," He said finally, tone deadly serious. "I mess up all the time. I'm a screw up. That's what I do. But I'm expected to. You guys have your snooty magic powers and your honor and loyalty and each other. I'm just the idiot with the bow that always screws up. So you know what, I'm done."
I stared at him, my head throbbing. The guards were starting to stir, but neither of us could move.
"What do you mean, you're done?" I asked quietly.
"I'll do what I can to help you with Danny. And I'll help fight against whoever we need to fight. I'll even help getting rid of this whole disease thing. But after that, I'm done. I'll go back to my house, and we can pretend we never met. Wouldn't make much difference," He muttered. My heart shattered.
I turned over so I wouldn't have to look at him. Daggers shot through my head and back. I breathed hard, trying not to cry out. Now my view was on Danny. I couldn't tell if his chest was rising or not. I hoped it was.
I sniffed. The past had come back to haunt me then. Everything I loved. Destroyed by my carelessness. With my remaining strength I curled into a ball and cried until I passed out.
So there it is! Thanks to wordjumble29, your newest The Heroes React chapter inspired me to update earlier! Hope you guys enjoyed and anyway...
Wolf out...
