Commence story!~

The school bell rang signaling the end of classes for the day. Some students started getting ready to go home while others gathered into groups to talk about where they want to go before heading home.

Tsuna didn't move from his seat. He didn't know what to do. Before he left the Student Council office the confusing person said he has to go to the nurse's office to get his check up but-

"Oi Daaame-Tsuna" One of his classmates called him, making him go stiff in his place. "Isn't it about time you start cleaning?"

Tsuna quickly nodded his head and immediately stood up to get the things he needed for cleaning.

"Spineless dipshit." One of the guys behind him whispered to his friends.

The guys snickered at that. "He should thank us, we're giving him the only chance to be useful after all."

The brunette returned cleaning materials in hand. When he was on his way back he stumbled and tripped. The sound of the brooms hitting the floor echoed through the room. He heard the other students snicker at him.

"What? Aw man I didn't even trip him yet." One of his classmates complained.

"Tch. C'mon let's go I'm getting tired of being in the same room as that fuck up." The group started walking towards the door while kicking the desks that happened to be in their way.

Tsuna ignored the abhorring comment directed at him and helped himself up. He slowly started picking up the scattered supplies on the floor and everyone else watched him do it.

After gathering everything he proceeded to lay them down near his desk. He turned his head, directing his attention to the mess the previous group made.

The students who stayed behind decided to go already, but not without leaving a mess for the brunette to clean up.

Tsuna was almost done fixing the mess the rowdy group from earlier made when the last of his classmates called out to him giving him a disturbing "Good luck!" before exiting the room.

Finishing up the rest of the cleaning on one side of the room, he turned to see… everything else in a chaotic mess. They even scattered his stuff all over the place. His bag and everything in it were all part of the mess he has to clean up now.

He ran to go get his bag which was threatening to fall off the window. The boy released a sigh when he caught his bag before it fell. He pulled back and closed the window, observing the students who laughed as they made their way out of the courtyard.

G looked out the window taking note of the students who were walking home.

"How'd it go?"

Giotto momentarily stopped what he was doing to look at his friend. "He talked but not much though."

"I see." G turned his attention to his work. "And what do you think?"

The blond continued filling the stack of folders that was on his right. "His file was strange, but we have already confirmed that he is a student attending Namimori High. The only thing left to do now is to fill up the rest of his profile." Giotto took a file of a random student and opened it.

"That's why I asked him to go to the nurse's office." He flipped to the next page. "His grades from his previous school however…"

"Are complete bullshit?" The red head finished his friend's sentence.

Giotto closed the folder in his hands and filed it away. "Simply put, yes. Judging from his performance in his previous school, I don't know how he got admitted here. But there could be a number of reasons why he was permitted to study here regardless of his grades."

"If you're trying to tell me that he miraculously passed the entrance exam with the grades that he has, then that's bullshit too."

"It's a possibility. But again, that could not be the case." Giotto replied, being used to the other's colorful language.

The red head released a sigh. "Well, what's done is done if he got admitted here by some stroke of luck then so be it." G contemplated for a moment. "His results in the upcoming exam. We'll see if he can keep it up." He received a nod from the other occupant in the room.

"There's something else that's been bothering me." Giotto recalled the way that the brunette introduced himself. "Dame-Tsuna…" The nickname slipped out.

G remembered hearing that name so many times before. "Right, the school's fuck-up."

The blond scowled at his best friend. "Language."

The red head blinked at that. 'You didn't correct my language befo- ugh whatever.' G shook his head. "So? What does that intuition of yours tell you?"

"I can't tell for sure, but something is certainly wrong. The way he acted when we met was… troubling."

"Like how?"

"He kept his head down, avoided eye contact, He was tense and… jumpy. He wouldn't talk, the only time that he did was when he corrected me when I called out his name." Blond eyebrows furrowed. "He introduced himself as 'Dame-Tsuna', which was strange. What do you think?"

"He probably thought he was in trouble if he acted that nervous, but I'm pretty sure you told him that he wasn't." G knew the blond well. "But then there's the way he calls himself. Force of habit maybe?"

Giotto shook his head. "I don't think one would make it a habit to refer to themselves by such an awful nickname. It's something else, an outside force."

"Something like being bullied? That would explain why he would call himself 'dame'- because everyone else does." G supplied.

Sunset orbs narrowed at that. "I hope that isn't the case."

Their conversation drew silent at that. G was contemplating what could've been the reason why the other's intuition spiked up like that. While Giotto thought of other possible things that could've made the brunette act the way that he did, not noticing that he was already done with his work.

Tsuna was finally done cleaning the whole classroom. The sun was beginning to set so he hurriedly got his bag and left the room.

Once he was at the courtyard he scanned the place checking to see if the familiar faces of his bullies were there. He released a breath when he found no one.

He sprinted towards the exit and made it through without tripping. The brunette leaned back against the wall to catch his breath, he looked back once again to make sure that the bullies weren't there and weren't following him.

Convinced that he's safe he turned around and started to make his way home, he made sure to always go home immediately when they were home or else they would discipline him again, but being forced to clean for the whole class proved to be problematic.

Tsuna quickened his pace.

The brunette slowly and carefully opened the door to the house. He was late and he was certain his parents would disapprove of this behavior. He went inside and closed the door, immediately after closing the door he sat on the floor and waited for his parents to come to the door to punish him.

Minutes passed and he still hasn't heard any footsteps making their way towards him. It was quite. No shouting. No stomps. No slams.

He forced himself to stand up and go look around for his parents. He checked door to door, room to room but no one was there.

He was alone.

He released a breath knowing that the other two weren't there to discipline him. He went back to the door and got his bag, while making his way upstairs he kept looking left and right to make sure that his parents really weren't there. When he reached his room he dropped his bag on the floor and closed the door.

The house was still empty when Tsuna woke up, and it looked like no one came home late last night either. That wasn't the first time something like this would happen. There were times when his parents would be home for one day and be gone the next.

Tsuna went downstairs, it was still early so he decided to be useful and do the only thing he was good at. He absent mindedly swept and polished the floor, dusted the furniture, and did the dishes. He didn't notice the time when he was doing all these and by the time that he finished it was already 8:15.

The brunette realized what time it was and hurriedly made his way upstairs to his room. He put on his uniform, got his bag, and headed downstairs. He was running late again and he did not want to show up to class only to get humiliated by the teacher for his tardiness.

Making sure that everything was clean he made his way outside and locked the door to the house.

'Please make it in time.'

Tsuna was late for class, but the teacher was miraculously not there to embarrass him. Was the teacher absent or something? The class didn't notice him entering the classroom either they were too busy having their own conversations to mind the brunette. He took this chance to quietly make his way to his seat.

"So what club are you joining?" He heard one of the girls ask her friend.

"Student council." Came the immediate reply.

The other laughed "You just want to get close to senpai."

The girl punched her friend's arm. "So? You're applying too."

"Dude I heard the track team is looking for members we should totally try-out!" One of his classmates enthusiastically told his circle of friends.

"What? Why track?" One replied.

"It's easy? You just have to run." He placed his hand on his friend's shoulder.

"That's sounds tiring. Besides, I already decided to join Soccer." He brushed off the hand on his shoulder.

Tsuna tuned out on the conversation and opted to marvel in his thoughts. 'Club?' A student is required to join a club when they reach high school but what club should he apply for?

'W-what club would accept me?' Maybe he could get pass this school year without having a club...

No. No. The teachers would certainly call him out for that.

"A-all right settle down." The teacher appeared at the door. He was out of breath and he looked sweaty. He wiped his forehead with his handkerchief as he made his way towards his desk.

The students reluctantly made their way back to their own seats while complaining about their teacher's unfortunate presence.

Tsuna straightened himself up and listened to the teacher call out names as he checked attendance.

"Senpai, I'll just leave this here then!~" A first year cheerfully placed a stack of papers near Giotto's desk.

Giotto's eyebrow twitched at the absurd amount of club applications for the student council. "Thanks." He managed to give a smile to the first year, who in turn blushed and hurriedly left the room.

G emerged from his paper covered desk, "Another stack?" An irritated look on his face.

"Yup, and it looks like this is just the start-" G groaned at that. "-we'll be accepting applications until the end of the week after all."

"Then we better finish rejecting all these fast before the next batch comes." The red head glossed over one form before stamping REJECTED across the paper.

"We can't reject all of these." The blond gestured to the sea of papers on his desk.

G shot his best friend a blank look. "Remember last year?"

"You're right we better reject all these and fast." Giotto stamped a form.

G cringed from reading what the student wrote in the why do you want to join this club? portion of the sheet.

"I want G- senpai to notice me."

He just couldn't resist the urge to face palm.

"Is there someone out there who actual takes this seriously?" G wrote a huge NEVER across the paper before stamping it. "Student council isn't exactly a walk in the park."

"What are you talking about?" Giotto stopped stamping momentarily. "Student council is probably the easiest thing we've ever done."

"Get back to stamping these things already." G read the next form.

"Please notice me G-senpai. Write on my paper again please."

He shuddered after reading that.

He's getting more and more afraid of those fangirls. G didn't do anything with the paper, he instead reached inside his pocket, took out his phone, and dialed a number.

Beep… Bee-click

The other line picked up.

"You're newest model and deliver it as fast as possible."

Giotto didn't look up from his desk. "I told you we should've gotten a flamethrower from the start."

"Then we'll leave it to you, Dame-Tsuna~" His classmate turned to her friends giggling as they made their way out the room.

He was stuck cleaning for his classmates again.

Honestly, this is starting to be a routine for them. Then again, what was he going to do about it? He couldn't possibly do anything to stop them, he'll just have to get used to it.

'L-Like a-always.'

So the brunette proceeded to get the materials he needed to clean the classroom.

G and Giotto decided to go home for the day, besides G absolutely refused to pick up another sheet of paper after reading what his other fangirls wrote.

They were having a conversation while walking towards the lobby when Giotto saw a familiar brunette.

"Tsunayoshi!" Giotto called out.

Tsuna flinched when he heard his name. He turned his head over to the direction of that familiar voice.

Giotto smiled warmly and waved his hand at the brunette as he started walking towards him. G sauntered behind him.

The brunette immediately looked away.

'I-It's th-that person again!' Tsuna went into panic. 'W-what does he want?' He immediately thought back to when they had a meeting and what the other told him to do.

The check-up!

'I-I f-forgot!' The brunette stiffened in his place, completely not noticing the tall blond in front of him.

"Tsunayoshi?" The blond called out the other's name again. When the smaller boy didn't respond Giotto bent down to the brunette's eye level and waved his hand in front of him. "Tsuna-"

"I-I'm so sorry!" Tsuna blurted out, he looked down as he clenched the fabric of his shirt.

There it was again, that awful feeling. Giotto observed the boy for a while before speaking. "What are you apologizing for?" He smiled even though Tsuna didn't see it.

The brunette released his hold of the fabric 'huh?' "Um.. th-the… I w-was-"

"Is this him?" G, having caught up, stopped right next to the blond and interrupted.

Tsuna registered the presence of another person, he faintly remembered that voice.

G looked at his friend. "The fuc-" Giotto's expression grew darker. "…. I mean, the Sawada kid?"

The blond gave a curt nod. "Tsunayoshi, I believe you and this person haven't formally met before. This is G, my best friend."

The red head directed his attention to the smaller boy. "Yo."

The boy raised his head slightly to look at the person. The sight before him absolutely terrified him. A student stood before him, he looked like he was a senior, his face was in a scowl and was that a tattoo across his face?!

He visibly paled.

Giotto noticed this. "Don't worry that awful look on his face is permanent."

Tsuna hesitantly looked at G through his bangs. He saw the teen trying to hit his best friend in the head for that remark but the blond dodged it. He'll have to be careful around this person.

"But as scary as he looks he means no harm." Giotto assured him. "Well… most of the time." He dodged another hit to the head."Anyway, are you heading home?" He received a shaky nod. "Great then let's go together!"

How did he get into this?

Tsuna chanced a glance to look at the blond beside him. The other felt the smaller boy's gaze and looked at Tsuna. The brunette swiftly lowered his head back down, hoping he didn't get caught.

Giotto smiled.

Earlier at the school lobby, after Giotto suggested that they should go home together Tsuna didn't know what got over him. He didn't want to bother them he much rather go home by himself. He only realized that he was trailing behind the two when he almost tripped on something and when that happened he tried to slip away hoping that no one would notice. But Giotto would turn back and check up on him every time he tried to get away. It was as if the blond knew when he would try to escape.

Thus, how he ended up currently walking home with two seniors from his school with Giotto to his right and G at the blond's.

The two best friends talked about something related to their class. Tsuna stayed quiet for the most part. Giotto would try to get the brunette to join the conversation by asking him what he thought and he would also ask him questions, but he would only get a shake or a nod of the head.

The trio stopped upon arriving at an intersection. "I'm heading down this way." G pointed to the right side of the street with his thumb. "I have something to pick up."

Giotto nodded "Alright. See you later then." G turned to his right and started to walk away, his back was facing them and he waved his right hand in departure.

Getting the feeling that someone was trying to leave he turned around to see the brunette trying to go to the other direction quietly. "Are you going left Tsunayoshi?" Tsuna flinched, he stopped and turned to face the president. He slowly gave a nod.

Giotto started walking towards the brunette. He stopped right in front of him. "So am I." He flashed his brilliant smile, making the brunette's cheeks to go slightly hot. He just doesn't understand this person.

The two started to walk at the left side of the street. Tsuna lagged behind but Giotto slowed his pace so they could walk side by side. "Were you stuck on cleaning duty?"

'Huh? How did he..?' He heard the person beside him chuckle. "It was rather late when we met and left school." 'Oh..' "I take that as a yes then."

Tsuna looked at Giotto for a while. Was this person a mind reader or something? "No. I'm not a mind reader-" The brunette found that hard to believe. "-you're just so easy to read." Tsuna's cheeks went red with embarrassment. "W-w-well… n-not really. I-I just helped my c-classmates clean u-up…" He lied.

Giotto stopped walking making Tsuna do the same. The brunette was worried and scared that he spoke out of line. He shouldn't have done that. He closed his eyes and braced himself for anything bad that could happen but was surprised when he felt a gentle hand ruffle his hair lightly. He opened his eyes in shock to see the blond smiling down at him, amusement visible on his face. "So you can talk. I was worried that you lost your voice back there." Tsuna's cheeks grew redder.

The two resumed walking though the atmosphere notably changed around them. It was less tense, It almost felt… warm.

"So have you applied for a club yet Tsunayoshi?" Giotto asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

"N-no…" Tsuna recalled a thought he had earlier. "C-Can I n-not join a c-club?"

"Sorry but a student must be a member of at least one club."

Tsuna's head hung in disappointment. "Having trouble finding a club?"

The smaller one of the two nodded. "I-I'm not g-good enough for c-clubs."

Giotto frowned at that but quickly replaced it with a smile when he ruffled the other's soft hair again. He just couldn't help it. The brunette was surprised when Giotto ruffled his hair again. He tried to get the blond's hand off him but miserably failed. Well, It wasn't that bad, It felt rather nice.

"Nonsense. Here, how about I help you find a club to join?"

Tsuna dropped his hands down and clutched the strap of his bag. "B-but w-why?"

"Why not?"

He clutched the strap tighter. "I-I don't d-deserve it."

"Well I want to help you, besides it's the senpai's duty to help their adorable kohai." Giotto winked at the brunette making Tsuna unclutch his bag and look away in embarrassment. 'I guess I'll add that along with his student file.' Which reminded him.

"Tsunayoshi did you have your check up in the nurse's office yet?"

Tsuna paled. "N-no.."

Giotto noticed this and tried to lighten the mood. "Don't wo-"

"I-I'm sorry!" Tsuna cut him off.

The blond was taken back from the sudden apology but soon recovered and put up his warm smile. "Was that what you were apologizing for earlier?" He chuckled.

The brunette nodded, confusion written on his face. 'H-he's not mad...?'

"Y-you're not m-mad?" Tsuna asked cautiously.

"No. should I be?-" Giotto jokingly asked.

"Yes." Came the immediate answer.

Both were shocked to hear that. Tsuna immediately covered his mouth with his hand when he realized what he just said. While Giotto stared at the petite boy, a calculating look replaced the smile on his face.

"I didn't tell you to get it done right away. Whenever you have free time you could do it then. Alright? I'm not mad." He assured him.

Tsuna recovered from the shock and let the words the other said sink in for a while. "A-alright." Looks like he'll have to go to the nurse's office after all. He frowned at that thought.

"Are checkups not your thing either?"

Tsuna didn't answer but the deepening frown on his face clearly said No.

"Then tomorrow at lunch."

The brunette looked at him "H-huh?"

"Tomorrow at lunch, I'll go with you to the nurse's office." His smile was back on his face.

Upon seeing the smaller boy's expression change to a Why? He continued saying. "I figured It'd be much easier for you to go with someone rather than your own. It'll help make you less nervous if you're scared too."

Aren't I bothering you? "I don't mind. After all I have nothing to do at lunch tomorrow." He answered the unspoken questions of the brunette. 'That is if I finish stamping my load of club applications.' A depressed air hung around Giotto.

Why was this person so… nice? The brunette was engrossed in his thoughts for a while, wondering what made the other act so kind towards him. "O-Okay."Giotto snapped out of the thought of drowning in depressing future tasks when he heard the younger boy speak.

"Then, meet me at the Student Council's office m'kay?" Tsuna nodded.

When the pair reached another intersection, Tsuna faced the left side and started to walk. The blond however was going to go straight ahead but stopped when he notice the brunette was heading another direction. Giotto went beside the smaller boy.

"Is your house this way?" Tsuna's eyes widened a bit in surprise, he stopped walking. He was still here? Wasn't he going to another direction or something? But what if this person was heading to the same direction as him?

He can't have that.

Tsuna shakily nodded. "A-are you g-going left t-too?"

"No. My apartment's building is straight ahead." Giotto looked back at the intersection and turned back to the brunette.

Tsuna inwardly sighed in relief. "But I think it's better if I walk you home. It's late after all."

He panicked again. "N-no!" Tsuna momentarily stopped when he blurted that out louder than he meant. "I-I mean i-it's okay… I-I c-can go a-alone…"

The blond was taken back from what the other exclaimed but quickly recovered. "Are you sure? I don't mi-"

"Y-yes!" He did it again. "Um.. I-I'm s-sure… and-" He looked at Giotto for a while before looking back down again. "-y-you've al-already helped m-me enough…" I-I don't want to be a bother to you.

"Tsunayoshi." He called out making the petite boy look at him. "You're not." He smiled at him, his Sunset colored orbs gazed down at him at the gentlest way.

Tsuna stared at him, chocolate orbs widen in disbelief. But the blond couldn't see much of it since his bangs covered most of it.

"Well, If you're sure you don't want me to go with you then I'll let you go on your own." He ruffled Tsuna's hair again, effectively snapping him back to reality. Giotto bent down to the smaller's level. "Just make sure you get home safely okay?" The brunette's cheek's dusted a light pink. He nodded.

The school president stood up straight. "I'll see you tomorrow then."

"Y-yes." Tsuna said softly as he nodded.

The Blond started to walk away but turned back. "And be careful on your way home!" He called back.

Tsuna shyly nodded before beginning the walk towards his house.

The two parted ways.

The couple inside the Sawada's residence was currently engaged in a conversation.

"How long do we have before we're expected to be there?" Iemetsu asked his wife.

"15 hours." Nana replied as she briefly scanned a message she just received.

"The situation over there is getting worse." She passed her phone to her husband.

He read the message. "We have no choice but to go back then."

"Just when I thought we would have a decent vacation this time." Nana mused. "Oh never mind, our vacations do tend to get very boring."

Iemetsu handed the phone back to his wife. He looked out the window and spotted their son walking towards the entrance. "Well, they're not too boring." He smirked.

Nana giggled happily and began to make her way to the front door.

Tsuna was about to get his keys to the house when the front door suddenly whipped open. A hand shot out and grabbed him as he was harshly thrown inside. Luckily, he managed to put his arms in front of him before hitting against the floor.

"You're right dear, this is fun!" Nana excitedly told her husband when he entered the room.

He chuckled at her behavior. "We have to enjoy our last few minutes of our vacation.-

- Let's make it last."

A shiver rocked down Tsuna's spine.

"Stand up." The commanding voice of his father urged him not to disobey.

"Might I ask why you arrived late today?"

Tsuna weakly stood up. "I-I w-w-was st-stuck o-on c-cleaning du-duty."

Iemetsu suddenly grabbed him in the arm with a harsh grip and threw him across the room. Effectively turning over a table and making his back collide with the base of a cabinet. He felt like the wind was knocked right out of him.

"That's for lying." Iemetsu said in a nonchalant manner.

Nana made her way to the boy on the floor. "And this-" she reeled her foot back before kicking him on the ribs. Again. Again. Again. and Again. "-is for making us worry when you didn't come home right away."

The small boy lay numb on the floor. She lowered her face near Tsuna's. "We're doing this for you. It is our job to correct your awful attitude as your parents."

Iemetsu walked towards Nana. "Do we really have to go so soon?" Nana looked at her husband while batting her eyes.

"Yes, we do-" Nana slightly pouted at that. "-But I'm sure they'll understand if we told them that we had to say goodbye to our beloved son before we could leave."

How long has it been?

An hour since they have left? Maybe two… three…

He just didn't know.

He was left there on the floor once they were done with him. How long we're they disciplining him…?

He felt numb. He felt tired. He felt his body throb, sting with the pain. It felt worse when he tried to move.

Breathing suddenly became the hardest thing to do.

The place was a mess. Shards of glass that used to be decorations scattered the floor, tables were turned over and traces of blood can be seen. His blood? He didn't know.

He needed to get up. Clean everything up. Get himself cleaned up. So he won't get punished again. Disciplined. Right, so he won't get disciplined again.

He tried to get up, but with every move that he'll make his body would scream at him to stop. But he didn't.

Using the wall as support he steadied himself, and slowly started to walk. When he was almost out of the room his legs gave out making him fall hard on the ground. He tried to lift himself up with his arms but when he tried they gave out too after consecutive shaky attempts.

He found himself desperate for air. That simple task took a lot out of him. He tried to swallow down gulps of oxygen but the pain in his chest made it extremely difficult. Soon he saw black spots appear in his vision. When he noticed this he forced himself to get up, to stay awake.

But he couldn't.
