I still don't own Xiaolin Showdown or TDA...
By the way, a big thank you to everyone that has reviewed so far, and my sincerest apologies for not getting back to this sooner! I've been busy over the summer, and don't have nearly as much access to the internet as before, so I apologize but my updates will be more sporadic but they will hopefully have more chapters!
Oh, and reviews aren't required anymore for updates... I'm tired of waiting for reviews, so if they happen they happen, and if they don't, they don't. However, reviews are lovely and really do help with the plot! I'm actually stuck on what to do in a later season of World Tour
…(Chris PoV)…
I swear time stood still. Time was standing still as I was rushing towards a larger and larger mass of blue below me. I swear I was going to die. But at the same time, the campers had managed it, so why couldn't I?
I hit the water and began moving towards the shore, only to see something that I hadn't before. There was a large opening in the rocks, one that had a tiny piece of cloth attached to it. I swam over and went into the cave to investigate only to find that it was a long tunnel.
I swam until I couldn't anymore, and I had just felt as though I was about to touch ground on something when I felt myself about to burst, and was forced to let the air out of my lungs. I struggled to reach upwards and out, desperate for air and now knowing how Sarah had felt when she had been drowning. I had just about managed to make it up halfway when I felt my world fading.
But at the same time, there was a new, strange feeling. Someone, or something, was pulling up on my arms. It felt like a human hand, and it came as a shock to me when I found that I was breaking the surface.
I couldn't see very well, and felt everything go dark as someone or something dragged me over to someplace that was suddenly very wet, but soft. The last thing I remembered was a soft wet muzzle pushing against my throat.

The otters in the area perked up in interest, and I knew immediately that something was wrong. I rushed over to the entrance of the cave to find Chris struggling to get out of the water. Not wanting him to die, I jumped in, grabbed his arm, and pulled him the rest of the way up that he had failed to get to. I barely managed to get myself afloat before I climbed to the floor of the cave, with one hand still locked around his wrist, and then I proceeded to heave him up as best I could.
Luckily, my Uncle Clay had begun working with me on my body strength at an early age, so I was able to do so. Yes, I'd picked up Chris before when I had been excited, but I'd also been fresh, well-rested, and well-fed. Right now I was getting over a migraine and having almost drowned again, exhausted, and had barely enough food in me to last me this long. I realized that I hadn't eaten since the day before with the dodge ball tournament.
As I managed to get Chris onto the makeshift moss bed that I'd made, I saw that the tiny otter that had looked to me for warmth was now cozying up to Chris. What was it with this thing and us humans?
Chris moaned lightly, and I pulled the backpack off of him before lying him down on his side that I'd removed the sling of. I then removed the other side and pulled the backpack away to look through it carefully. To my astonishment, I found a pillow, two blankets, two changes of chris' clothes, a large amount of twine, a pocketknife, and a first aid kit.
Man, he really came prepared!
But I also noticed that he had no food, which was not good for either of us. This was bad, very bad, and even though I was a good fisher, there was no way that I'd be able to fish while still inside the cavern! I was about to lose hope when a few of the otters began to leave, and then more and more of them, leaving me alone with four females to guard all of their young and the orphaned one that had taken to Chris and I like we were its parents.
I yawned and began piling more and more moss up that they didn't use to create another bed for me, one that was close to Chris' but not so close as to cause him to think that I'd done something stupid. As terrified as I was, I was also exhausted, so I lay down and stared up at the ceiling. It was dark now, I realized. This must have been why Chris had come looking for me. but how had he known where to go? I decided I'd ask him when he woke up.

The next thing I remembered was being in a mass of pain and the feeling of my clothes being slightly wet, but more so from my side. What was going on? I moaned as I forced my eyes open to find that I was in a cave of some sort. It smelled strangely of raw food, and yet there was a pile of moss right next to the one that I was laying on. Could it be that Sarah was here as well? Could it be that she had stumbled upon it just as I had?
"You're awake," I heard, and looked to find a well-rested and halfway chipper Sarah. "Thank goodness!"
"What happened?" I croaked, trying to recall the previous day's events. "I remember someone shoving me off of a cliff, and then finding a tunnel inside of it…"
"Yeah, that's what happened to me, too," she nodded. "I barely made it out, and that was without all of the stuff holding me down. Nice job on getting this far with the bag. Oh, I, uh… I kind of took the liberty of undoing some of the twine to create a laundry line of sorts. I hope you don't mind."
"Looks like we're even," I muttered rubbing my head. "How did all this moss…?"
"The moss was already here, I just gathered it up," she said calmly as she walked towards me carrying what looked like fish. "It's fish. I know it's uncooked, but it's all we've got. I'm sorry."
"No, no," I said quickly as she sat down next to me. "Fish… it's not my first choice of foods, but it's better than nothing."
"Tell me about it. you want to see something cool?" she asked, and I nodded. "Look up."
I did, and the view was spectacular. The gems and crystals that were on the roof of the cave were sparkling and creating a whole new light show with just a few rays of moonlight that were peeking in through a small hole.
She frowned and narrowed her eyes, as if to listen intently for something. I strained my ears and found that it wasn't just her that the other campers were looking for now – they were looking for me.
"How long was I asleep?" I asked, and she blinked.
"A day and a half," she said quietly. "I didn't really want to put a blanket over you since wet blankets tend to make things worse, but I didn't want you to get cold either…"
"Thank you," I said quietly. "You saved my life."
"You saved mine," she said softly. "It was you that pulled me out of the water, wasn't it? After the first challenge when I was drowning because of the weights."
"Yes," I said quietly as the yelling came closer. "Do you think they'll find us?"
"Nah, I thought it was a rabbit hole when I first saw the hole up there from the other side," she smiled as she looked up. "I highly doubt they'd think anything different. Most of the members of the other team are too stupid to do anything right."
"Sarah! Chris!" we heard Edward, Trinity, and Chef yelling out.
"I stand corrected," she muttered.
"How long have they been searching?" I whispered.
"Ever since you were I can assume," she murmured back. "It was the morning after you vanished that they started looking for you, too."
"While we're here, we may as well do something productive," I shrugged, and she stared at me confused. "You don't know what I'm talking about at all."
"Not really," she said confused. "What are we going to do again?"
I sighed before running my fingers through my hair. I glanced her way to find her staring at me in shock and awe, which was quite interesting. Everybody knew I was a narcissist, and everybody had hated me for it up until now, and her interest in me was quite confusing. I had slowly been developing feelings for the redhead, which was probably not a good idea since I was at least eleven years older than her. But as she began shivering, I knew that it would be foolish for us to sleep on different beds tonight. The cave would get cold, and our bodies would as well. I moved the moss bed of mine into hers, and threw the pillow down at the head of mine, using the moss remainders to create a pillow for hers.
"What are you doing?" she asked confused.
"Our bodies will keep the heat in better with us together," I said calmly, trying as hard as I could to keep from getting aroused. "I've got the two blankets, and you can change into my clothes for your pajamas if you like. It's not like I'm going to use both spare sets of clothing at the same time. Besides that, I've got a bit of a confession to tell you."
"Which would be?" she asked, leaving it open.
"Some of the other campers are starting to notice," I began. "Naruto and Damon already approached me expressing concerns about your household. I convinced them that it was simply the facts that you grew up in a rough neighborhood. If you feel stressed or want some relief, I can try to get us an easier way into the cave."
She shivered before curling up on the ball of moss and forcing herself to go to sleep. I shivered before putting a blanket on her and then pulling one over myself so we could get some sleep without freezing to death.
Poor Chris and Sarah! What do you think'll happen next?
Eh, please review, it really does help. I admit, I'm actually getting tired of posting some of these fanfics because of how long the process is and how little time there is, and the reviews are what makes it all worthwhile.
