Chosen 1.1
Getting trapped in a locker is bad enough but being trapped within a locker stuffed halfway full of what can be compared to toxic waste was a whole different level of fucked up and the victim of such a prank was a young woman named Taylor. Taylor was bullied by her so called peers ever since her best friend turned on her and became the ringleader of the bullies.
People saw her and did nothing. Teachers knew about it and did nothing. Her saving grace from that hell she was trapped in was a janitor cleaning the lockers after she had been missing for more than a day. Granted her father and grandmother had been worried sick but back then Taylor wasn't in the right headspace to realize that her first reaction of getting freed was having a mental breakdown and getting hospitalized.
During the experience when she felt like she might actually die in that locker she felt an odd sense of warmth and cold inside of her heart and her hand inched really badly. As if she had rubbed it in poison ivy and itching powder and sure enough when she looked down at her hand when she finally became lucid, she saw a strange symbol appear on the back of her right hand.
The symbol was in the shape of a ring, but the ring had small flames lining the outside of the ring which made for a rather strange symbol and when Taylor spoke up about it to a doctor, he said that she could be hallucinating since he saw nothing on her hand despite her basically shoving her hand in his face.
Right now, it is early in the morning as Taylor is wandering around the boardwalk aimlessly and just letting her mind jump from one random thought to another. The horrible event happened more than a month ago, but Taylor could still recall the horrible sensation as if it happened today.
"I hate this." Taylor said to herself as she sat down on a wooden bench feeling so powerless that it made her want to scream. Taylor wanted to be stronger, she wanted to be someone like a hero, but she felt as if that was something she couldn't have. After all, how could a nobody like her ever become a hero?
"What the hell?" Taylor asked herself as the boardwalk suddenly went quiet and for a moment she wondered if a villain attack was happening right now or something.
"Well, aren't you a pretty one." A voice said as Taylor looked to her right and saw a cape that she didn't recognize at all.
This cape is wearing some medieval knight armor covering his entire body that was a metallic silver with a gold finish as the cape is also wielding what looks like a golden trident and with a closer look Taylor could see a strange blue glow around his feet and hands.
'This guy is most likely a Shaker with possible Striker or Brute powers as well.' Taylor thought to herself before she spoke up.
"Look I don't know who you are or what you want but if you're trying to kidnap me, I can promise you that I'm a horrible target. I don't come from money or anything like that." Taylor said as she nervously took a step back.
"Sorry to break it to you sweetheart but you do have something I want. You're one of the chosen and you have the power that I want. Nothing personal." The guy said before he pointed his spear at Taylor and coming from the tip of the spear was a light blue fog that quickly enveloped Taylor before she had a chance to run and suddenly Taylor felt the sensation of falling.
"What the hell is going on? I go through the worst experience of my entire life and after recovering I get kidnapped by a random cape dressed in knight armor with a weird powerset to match?" Taylor asked herself out loud as she fell through the darkness and for a moment, she closed her eyes and thought of her mom and her dad.
How her dad would feel if she had gone missing again or how her mom would have felt if she knew that this had happened to her. How nobody at school would miss her or how meaningless her life must have been in the grand scheme of things.
No.
No!
NO!
"I'm not going to die like this!" Taylor shouted as she felt anger rising from within her as the mark on her hand started burning. "I don't care what it takes but I'm going to survive this! I'm not going to be someone else's victim!" Taylor shouted with fury before Taylor suddenly felt warmth overtaking her and a voice sounding off in her ears.
"Your resolve to survive has activated the Dark Soul within you. You are one of the Chosen and now you must fend for yourself with this gift. Use this power if you wish to survive." A soothing and amused voice said to Taylor as she suddenly stopped falling and landed on some oddly soft ground that hadn't hurt in the slightest as she now saw multiple things.
The first was that she noticed that she was in some kind of large cave and the second is that the mark on her hand was glowing and in front of her is what looks like a game screen from a videogame.

Codex Updated! [Souls] Entry has been added! [Dark Soul] Entry has been added!
"What the fuck?" Taylor asked in complete and total shock as her anger slowly vanished and is replaced by confusion. She looks on at the screen in front of her and touches it to see that it was a physical manifestation that somehow felt like gelatin to the touch and was just as squirmy with the way the screen moved when she interacted with it.
"Why do I have a bar that says souls?" Taylor asked because she knew enough about games to know what levels and experience points are, but she had no clue why she had a soul's meter or why she had a 'codex' with new entries being placed in it apparently.
"I don't have time for this right now." Taylor said as she wanted to make the screen disappear and as if it responded to her thoughts, she saw the screen vanish and just to test things out she thought about bringing the screen back and somehow it reappeared and vanished based on Taylor's thoughts. "Okay so I have some kind of Thinker power or something similar at least." Taylor said before she made the screen vanish which allowed her to look around at the location, she found herself in.
Nearby Taylor saw something horrible that she wished she could unsee. She saw the corpse of a hero from Detroit that was reported missing over a year ago. The only reason she knew about it was because the hero had a popular twitter account that she followed. This hero was known as Pink Wizard, and she was a part of the Wizard team in Detroit. Those Wards did hero work but also did a few shows as a popular girl band inspired by anime songs and stuff.
The body and clothes were so mangled that the only reason Taylor recognized the hero was because of the laser pistol she carried and used as a firework display for her shows, and it rested in the decomposing hands. Taylor almost threw up at what she saw but something inside of her brain was shutting down the intensity of those negative emotions as she slowly reached over and picked up the pistol.
It is a bright pink color and looks like a kid's laser guy toy from a sci-fi cartoon and it has a dial and a bar on it. The first dial was simple as the gun could be turned from non-lethal to lethal mode with a flick of the switch while the bar on the left side of the gun seemed to be a power status on the weapon with a sun and moon symbol on either end.
Pink Wizard wasn't shy about talking about her tech since she was a Tinker type and publicly admitted that her tech was solar powered. The gun was strongest with a full bar but even with the bar low it could still pack a punch. Basically, a full bar could put a hole through a brick wall while a depleted bar would give a person a new scar but nothing else unless the person took multiple shots in critical places.
"At least its something." Taylor said with a sad sigh as the bar was fully depleted. "Of course. Why wouldn't it be? The Wizard team has been missing for over a year." Taylor said as she knew the gun would still fire, but it was very weak, and it wouldn't do much of anything against a dude in metal armor.
"Only one way to go from here." Taylor said as she gripped the laser pistol and set it to lethal mode despite how non-lethal it would be at the moment as she started walking down the cave path in front of her before she heard something. Something strange and coming out of the darkness was literal zombies. Decaying skin and rags as clothes zombies that thankfully walked slowly but still they certainly freaked Taylor out but before panic could set in her mind was once again calmed by some outside force as Taylor raised her laser gun and pulled the trigger as she saw a pink ray of light whiz out of the gun barrel and miss one of the three zombies completely so after taking a few more steps back she carefully aimed and fired again but this time she managed to hit the first zombie's neck.
"Damn it." Taylor cursed as she saw that accurately firing a gun was a lot harder than movies make it look as she kept firing at the zombies and found that the laser gun was actually doing pretty well and sure enough with well placed headshots Taylor put down the three zombies but the problem was that the amount of shots it took had quickly overheated the laser gun as it was hot in Taylor's hands as she saw new things appear in front of her view.
You have earned 75 Souls!
Enemy Loot has been dropped!
Taylor looked at the ground where the zombies stood and despite all odds, she actually found items after the corpses had burst into white particles. The items were a strange book, some money and a small purple crystal that was in the shape of a diamond and was the size of a marble.
"No way." Taylor said as she went over and picked up the items and had no way to figure out what the books and crystals were before she thought about things for a moment as an idea came to her mind.
"Do I have an Inventory?" Taylor asked herself before that very screen appeared in front of her eyes as she raised the crystal and pressed it up against the screen thinking it could somehow enter into the screen like in a actual videogame and sure enough the item went right in and while it was stored away Taylor was able to see the items inside of her Inventory.
-Aid Item-
[Name: Minor Soul Crystal!
Description: You can crush this item to gain a small number of souls or use it in certain magic spells and incantations to boost the effects of your magic.
Durability: 5/5]
"Oh." Taylor said before she experimentally reached into her Inventory and took out the crystal before she balled up her hand to try and crush it and sure enough it burst and white whisps of energy swirled around her before entering her strange mark.
Taylor did the same thing with the new book she gathered and the money the monsters dropped as she soon read the title of the book.
[Name: Life Drain Skill Book!
Description: This is a low tier spell to drain the health, stamina and magic of a designated target.] Would you like to learn this skill Y/N?
Taylor didn't see the harm despite the intimidating name as she took out the book and sure enough it also burst into white whisps that got absorbed into her hand.
You have learned the [Life Drain] skill!
[Life Drain, Active Level: 1
You can cast a magical spell to drain the HP, SP, and MP of any target you wish to restore your own energy pools or you could take energy and distribute it to someone else.
Energy consumption rate: 1 Point per minute!
Cost: 5 MP per minute]
The information on the actual spell was somehow placed inside of Taylor's mind as she now knew for a fact that the spell was very much real but based on context clues, she knew that it also wasn't a very useful spell at the moment.
"At least I'm slowly starting to get the hang of these weird powers of mine. Somehow my powers have transformed my life into an actual videogame." Taylor said in realization before she heard more zombies coming from the only direction she could use to advance.
Sorry for the delay. The system is experiencing a technical issue at the moment.
You have earned the skill [Small Laser Gun Mastery]!
[Small Laser Gun Mastery, Active Level: 1
You know your way around a pistol sized gun that is designed to shoot lasers at people and now you deal 10% more damage with that type of weapon.]
"I guess that came from shooting the moving targets with this laser gun." Taylor said as a few more zombies showed their faces. "I guess I'm about to start enhancing this skill." Taylor said as she went back to shooting the zombies as she easily cleared out the small group with much more ease and actually discovered some other loot that the zombies dropped.
1x Helm of Spite
1x Rotten Leather Chest Piece
Taylor did not equip the chest piece under any circumstances since it looks like a piece of rotten cow skin and smelled just as bad, but the helmet wasn't too bad all things considered. The helmet was made of some kind of metal that wasn't terribly strong or durable, but it would hide her identity at least as the helmet covered her entire head and stopped down at her neck and was in the shape of a human skull with two little eye holes for her eyes as well as a slit under the nose and over the mouth for breathability.
"This must be made of cheap alloys or something." Taylor said as the helmet felt a little heavy but not nearly as heavy as it should be if it was going to protect her head from damage. "Still this place feels like its going on endlessly." Taylor said as she had been walking for a while and dispatching a zombie here and there before she finally came up to a fork in the tunnel splitting off into two paths.
Taylor wasn't sure which path she should go down until she heard screaming coming from the right and despite her better judgement she went to the right and saw the wards team in their hero suits.
Clockblocker, Kid Win, Vista, Aegis and Gallant. They also seemed to be overrun with zombies, but these were different from the ones that Taylor fought. These zombies had weapons such as swords and maces. Vista was the one who screamed after a zombie just too close and thankfully it was taken out by Gallant who fired a beam of emotion generated energy at the undead monster and killed it with one shot.
Taylor didn't waste any time and aided in the fight by shooting a few of the zombies with her new laser gun.
"Who are you?" Aegis asked as he punched out one of the zombies without batting a eye at the fact that it slammed its mace down on his shoulder.
"It doesn't matter right now. Just fight the zombies." Taylor said back as she helped the hero team kill off the hordes of undead and sure enough, she started looting the items she got from the zombies she killed which was another handful of soul crystals and weapons that the zombies dropped.
"That's all of them. Thank God." Kid Win said as he sat down on the ground with his two laser pistols at his sides as Vista did the same thing and sat on the ground, but she had more of a terrified aura around her.
"Now that this has been handled. Tell us who you are spooky." Clockblocker said jokingly as he looked over at Taylor or at least Taylor thought he was looking at her since it was hard to tell with his helmet.
"I'm…I'm a nobody honestly and I just kinda got trapped here like the rest of you." Taylor said honestly as Aegis crossed his arms in disbelief.
"If that's the case than why are you wearing a mask?" Aegis asked bluntly.
"My power is weird and it's a bit hard to explain but I can more or less get items from monsters I beat up in here and I got this helmet from a pretty tough zombie and put it on to hide my identity in case other people are here. I don't want anyone else knowing who I am yet, and I still need to beat up the dude who put me in this place." Taylor explained.
"Get in line sister. When I find that asshole who trapped us here I'm going to bend the space around him so bad he won't even know his ass from a hole in the ground." Vista said with clear anger.
"Your just scared kas you're afraid of zombies." Clockblocker said back teasingly.
"Of course, I am! Haven't you seen the Resident Evil movies or literally any other zombie movie ever made. They're terrifying!" Vista shouted as Gallant groaned.
"Vista can you please try to calm down. Your fear and anger is giving me a massive headache." Gallant said with a groan as he held her head.
"Sorry." Vista said quietly as she calmed herself a bit but that didn't do much for Gallant since he felt the collective fear and anger of everyone together except for Taylor and the zombies.
Gallant couldn't see any evidence that the zombies or whatever they were had actually been a living being so he could let that go but Taylor confused him since he couldn't read any emotion from her at all.
"Well, what can we call you in the meantime?" Kid Win asked Taylor who put away her ray gun and instead wielded one of the zombie's short swords in both hands.
"Right now? I guess you can call me…Soul." Taylor said as she mentally kicked herself for not coming up with a cooler name.
"Alright Soul I am guessing you already know about us so why don't you team up with us for a bit until we get out of here?" Kid Win asked as Aegis looked directly at him after he spoke. "What? We all want to get out so why don't we work together?"
"He raises a good point boss." Clockblocker said back as Aegis groaned.
"Fine. Soul, you can help us, but I still don't trust you yet." Aegis said as Taylor shrugged her shoulders.
"That's fair I guess. So, are you all good to move out?" Taylor asked as Kid Win got up and had both his laser pistols in his hands as Vista stood up on shaky legs still a bit scared at the situation at hand.
"Let's go Wards." Aegis said confidently before the group started heading down the pathway of the cave as a cohesive unit.
End!
A/N: I made several new stories and now I'm making another new story about a gamer. What's wrong with me? Anyway, Taylor is a gamer and things are going to be a bit different in this Worm universe as you can see.
Taylor is a 'Chosen' aka a Chosen Undead from Dark Souls, but she isn't dead which means I have twisted things up a bit.
Please fav, follow and review.
