Sun and Moon (a 'Pokemon X/Y' fic)
Disc.: I will never ever own a great series like this one, so for now I'll to settle on writing fics like this one.
A/N: Ok, it's about to get really intense really soon…I've been talking with 23StellaOrgana and swapping ideas for the next few chapters and have decided on where I'm gonna go now, so this chapter will start with Ash approaching Team Flare and helping them build the giant machine you saw in the X Version game; also, there will be a few more twists but I'll get to them later on…for the time being, here's the next chapter!
Ch.10- Unseen Developments
The forest surrounding Kalos was alit with warm sunlight streaming through the trees, a raven haired Trainer with a Houndoom following at his side and a tribal 'Y' etched into the side of his neck making their way along a dirt path that was winding and surrounded by a peaceful aura from the forest it was running through.
Ash patted the Houndoom on its' head every time they stopped and rested, Yveltal guiding Ash's occupied body down the path until they finally reached Geosenge Town…the small town devoid of anything technological and instead filled with log cabins and many tall stones, it seemed almost like something pulled from another time period as the raven haired Trainer and his companion saw a man standing at the end of a path near the back of the Town.
"Why do I always get stuck doing stupid grunt work? I'm a full fledged member of Team Flare, damn it! I should be reporting to Lysandre and doing more interesting work, not stuck out here in the fucking boonies!"
As the man kept grumbling about his horrible luck, his ears barely caught the sounds of Ash walking towards him and looked up to see the raven haired Trainer walking up to him with Houndoom at his side.
"Hey kid, you can't be here…you gotta turn back now, or else."
"Yeah? Or else what, asshole?" the raven haired Trainer said somewhat irritably, the Dark and Fire Pokemon at his side growling low in its' throat as it narrowed its' red eyes at the red suited man.
"Or I'll make you wish you had, you little brat! Go, Magcargo!"
Ash watched the man send out the Fire and Ground Type, Houndoom nodding at him before getting ready to battle.
"Houndoom, use Smog…then use Beat Up."
The Dark and Fire Pokemon inhaled deeply before exhaling a purple cloud of smoke from its' open mouth, the opposing Pokemon and its' Trainer blinded by the smoke as it covered both of them…Magcargo never even seeing the attack coming before it was kicked out of the smoke cloud and into a giant stone nearby, the Fire and Ground Pokemon losing consciousness as the smoke finally cleared.
Houndoom was smirking confidently as his Trainer patted him on the head between his horns, the red suited man recalling his Pokemon and staring at the raven haired Trainer dumbfoundedly.
"Who are you, kid?"
"My name's Ash, and I want to speak to your leader…take me to him, right now." The raven haired Trainer growled lowly while his eyes turned blue for a couple seconds before returning to their gold color, the red suited man nodding as he stood up and led Ash down the path to the elevator cleverly hidden by giant stones.
Neither Ash nor the red suited Flare Grunt noticed a small camera robot watching them, the device flying away and reporting back to its' master with what it saw.
(Team Rocket Campsite)
The three Rocket grunts were currently using their robot cameras to spy on other Trainers, as instructed by Giovanni. As they sat on a blanket spread out onto the ground beneath them, the probe they'd sent out to investigate Geosenge Town came back; James looked up to see that the red light it had built into it was blinking, it only did that after recording activity deemed suspicious…which meant that something interesting had just occurred as the bluenette Rocket grunt allowed the small probe to settle into his open palm.
"Well James, what have we got on our little friend?" Jessie asked him, Meowth joining her as the bluenette Rocket grunt plugged the probe into the laptop he was using and pulling up their latest video feed.
"Alright, let's see what our little friend has gathered for us…huh, that's odd."
"What, James?" Meowth asked, his eyes glued to the monitor just like his two companions.
"I see that Ash is traveling alone…with a Houndoom at his side."
"You're right, James…why would Giovanni's runt be traveling by himself with a fully evolved Pokemon like that?" Jessie asked her friend, confusion spreading onto her face.
"Not sure, Jess…but it seems that he whipped that man in the red suit way too easily, which is unsettling; now it seems he's following him, but why?"
The three Rocket Grunts kept watching the rest of the video until it showed the raven haired Trainer enter an elevator that'd been cleverly built into some large stones, the probe then cutting the feed off. All of them were perplexed by this change in events; especially the way Ash seemed to exude not just confidence…but also anger, which none of them could recall him getting that angry unless his friends were threatened. He'd never in his life threatened anyone, or was violent to them for no reason.
James and his friends knew this because they'd been tasked with watching over Ash ever since he started his journey nearly 7 years ago, though they were told to keep a low profile and not give their mission away…so they instead acted like a bunch of dimwitted failures, and they knew for a fact that he'd never caught a Houndour before now, nor was he ever mean to anyone and battled so viciously…but they couldn't believe what they just saw.
"James, we need to tell Giovanni about this…he'll wanna know, since this concerns his son."
"Right…I'll let him know right away, Jess."
The bluenette Rocket grunt pulled up the contacts section of their computer and placed a call to their boss Giovanni, all of them hoping that he was in a listening mood.
(Rocket Headquarters)
Giovanni was, for lack of a better word, angry…none of his Agents had called in with good news, which meant his plans were on hold and if there was one thing Giovanni hated it was time not being used wisely; his eyes drifted to the framed photo of his family, his son Ash and his daughter Anna…Delia holding both kids while Riley glared at him as he had his arm around the brunette woman's waist and Persian was rubbing up against Ash's cheek, which made his son smile widely in happiness…a sigh escaping his lips. It was the only portrait of all of them together in one place, and the Rockets' Leader cherished it every day since it'd been taken 10 years ago.
Despite his disposition and attitude, Giovanni was not a heartless man…he loved his children very much, and he still held some feelings for the woman who was their mother; his ambitions were the only reason he never asked Delia to stay with him, he didn't want her getting hurt or involved in anything shady and dangerous. He always wanted her to smile, even if it was no longer at him.
As he let his eyes take on a nostalgic glint, the sound of his laptop receiving a video message went off and he resigned himself to business once more as he answered whoever was calling.
To his surprise, his three most efficient field Agents were calling in…though from their facial expressions, the news was anything but good.
"James, Jessie, Meowth…why are you calling me directly instead of having Susan tell me you've contacted me through her?"
"Well, sir…we recorded something rather strange…it's about Ash."
"What about him? Did something happen to him?"
"Uh, that's the thing sir…you need to see this."
Giovanni watched the video clip they sent him, and to say that the Rockets' Leader was shocked by his son's vicious behavior was pretty much insulting…he'd never have guessed that his kind hearted son was capable of being this efficient or cruel to others, let alone aid a criminal organization so willingly for any reason; Giovanni recognized the man as a member of Team Flare, a troublesome bunch of idiots who thought they could bring about an end to suffering for Pokemon through violence and intimidation tactics.
After the video recording ended, the Rockets' Leader sat back in his chair and rubbed his temples…this was not what he was expecting, but he knew that he couldn't keep this from Delia. After all, she was part of his family and deserved to know what was happening to Ash…he'd let the woman tell Riley and Anna herself, seeing as how he didn't want to involve himself with the (in his opinion) irritating aura user that was Delia's brother.
"Jessie, James, Meowth…"
"Yes, Sir Giovanni?" all three grunts asked their Leader, the dark brunette man looking at them sternly.
"I'm going to make a house call to Delia, see to it that Susan knows I'll be stepping out for a few hours."
"Yes, Sir."
The screen went dark as the signal was disconnected and Giovanni sighed, this wasn't going to be fun…but the Rockets' Leader was doing this for his son, and not many knew this, but Giovanni loved and treasured his children very much…they were his world, and he would do anything for them.
The Rockets' Leader stood up and patted his Persian on the head, the Cat Pokemon meowing loudly as she watched her master leave with a less than pleased look on his face.
(Delia's House)
The brunette woman was currently putting the laundry away when she saw Mr. Mime run towards the gate and start shouting loudly, Delia deciding to see what had her Pokemon companion so wired up in the first place…the brunette woman not expecting to see Giovanni of Team Rocket standing outside her gate.
"I suppose you'll want to talk…come inside."
Giovanni nodded as he stepped through the gate door once it was opened by Mr. Mime, the Psychic Pokemon going back to sweeping the dust away from the house.
As the two sat in the living room, Delia could hardly bring herself to look at the man…the silence becoming uncomfortable, so Giovanni decided to initiate a conversation.
"You look well, Delia."
"Oh, um…thank you, Giovanni."
"I actually came here to tell you about Ash…I think he may have gotten himself mixed up with some rather unsavory people."
"Is he hurt?!"
"No…but he's not acting like himself; he's become vicious and mean towards his opponents in battle, not to mention he had a Houndoom with him. He battled a man in a red suit and completely dominated him, but then he went with him to see someone named Lysandre."
"Really?! Are you sure about that, Giovanni?!"
"Yes, with 100% certainty…I did some research on this Lysandre fellow, and he's the leader of a criminal organization called Team Flare. Why our son joined up with him, I don't know…but we have to do something about this turn of events."
Delia sighed, she couldn't believe what Giovanni had just told her…yet during the whole conversation, he had a rather grim and serious expression plastered onto his face…which meant that he wasn't lying. The brunette woman was at a loss of words over her son's behavior, though she knew that she'd have to tell Anna and Riley about this.
"Well, since you came all this way to tell me about Ash's sudden changes…I'll let my brother and daughter know about this. For now though, please keep watching over our son."
The Rockets' Leader watched as the brunette woman moved to open the door for him, her posture and actions seeming almost hollow…he knew deep down that she was still coping with all she'd been told. So Giovanni did the one thing he knew always calmed her down and made her feel better.
The Rockets' Leader gently grabbed her wrist and pulled her into an embrace, the brunette woman stilling at the familiarity of the action and sighing into the hold…both of them stayed like this for several minutes before Giovanni left the house and went back to the Rockets' Headquarters.
Delia was glad that the man she once held feelings for, and probably still did, had told her of what had happened with their son. Now, all that remained was to tell her brother and daughter of this development.
The brunette woman could only hope that they wouldn't have a meltdown over the whole ordeal as she started making a phone call to Anna and then to Riley.

T.B.C.- Wow, so much writing…I love doing it, but damn my fingers are killing me! Anyway, if I made Giovanni seem OOC, then I apologize; this is my fic, so I'm gonna make him a little bit nicer. He'll only be this way around his kids and Delia, not so much with Riley due to the guy's open dislike of him and his blatant disapproval of their relationship. Anyway, the next chapter will be up either this weekend or next week, so be ready for when it drops!
