A Special Connection Part 1

One night at a romani circus camp, a boy was sound asleep and he began to dream.

Within the boy's dream, it was a chilly morning as three girls rode on horseback.

"There's only one thing worse than getting up on a cold morning and going riding." one girl said.

"And that's not getting up on a cold morning..." the second began.

"And not going riding." the third girl finished.

The three girls noticed a campsite nearby.

"What's that?" the third girl asked.

"Who are they I wonder?" the second girl remarked.

"Let's go and say hello." the first girl suggested.

Far off in the distance, a black stallion galloped with the boy on his back.

The girls rode up to the campsite.

When a snake slithered across one horse's path and spooked her.

"Prancer! Prancer! Prancer! Prancer! Prancer! Whoa!" girl three exclaimed.

Girl one looked back.

"Prancer!" girl three screamed as Prancer galloped off.

"Help!" girl three screamed.

"Hang on, Lisa!" girl one called.

The boy on horseback heard girl three scream out in terror and turned the stallion around.

"Hyah!" the boy exclaimed, racing after girl three.

"Whoa, Prancer! Whoa!" girl three screamed.

Girls one and two were also racing to rescue girl three.

"Lisa!" girl one exclaimed.

"Somebody help! Stop, Prancer!" girl three called.

"We're coming!" girl two exclaimed.

"Hold on, Lisa!" girl one called.

"Prancer, stop, please!" girl three called.

"Lisa, hold on!" girl two called out.

"We're nearly there, Lisa." girl one called.

"Help! Prancer!" girl three called.

The boy rode alongside girl three.

"Easy, boy! Whoa, boy! Whoa, boy! Easy, boy. Hang on. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Easy, boy." the 16-year-old said to his horse.

The girl who had been rescued was breathless.

"You did well to stay on, hi, I'm Rafael." the boy said.

"Rafael... Rafael... Rafael... Rafael... Rafael..." someone repeatedly called.

Rafael opened his eyes to see the faces of his mother and younger sister staring back at him.

"Good morning, my son." Rafael's mother, Carmina said.

Rafael rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"Good morning, Mother," Rafael said. "good morning, Carmen."

"Get dressed," Carmen said. "and hurry."

"Why?" Rafael asked.

"Have you forgotten, Rafael? The Blue Star Clan has come for a visit, including your girlfriend, Romina." Carmen teased.

"Romina may like me like me, but I don't feel that way about her," Rafael reasoned. "I don't like girls that are clingy, I'm looking for a girl who I think is special."

Carmen thought for a moment, "You mean like the girl from your dream?" she asked Rafael.

"Exactly," Rafael said. "I don't know her name... but I'll find her!"

"Carmen," Carmina said. "let's leave your brother to get dressed, he's got a big day ahead of him."

"Okay, Mom." Carmen said.

Carmina and Carmen left Rafael to get ready for his day with the others in his romani band.

"Someday, I will find you." Rafael vowed.

Later on that day, Rafael could see a few of his comrades in the band on horseback from under the shade of his favorite reading tree.

"Hey, Rafael," Lydia called. "come for a ride with us!"

"Rafael doesn't even have a horse, Lydia," her older brother, Valentino sneered. "I doubt he can even ride!"
