The next morning went similar to the last. Leo got up, April sorted out her outfit and hair while she meditated and the others got ready for school. The only thing that was different was Leo and Don..they hadn't spoken a word to each other all night, and Leo had slept on the couch rather than in bed with Donny.

She had Bruce's words going through her head, she didn't believe him but after the argument she had with Don, she couldn't help but feel a little uneasy about it.

They had all walked to school together, Mikey and Raph trying their best to break the awkwardness between the couple and the mood didn't lighten when they got to school, especially when Leo was called into the principles office.

The blue wearing student took a deep breath before knocking on the principles door, waiting for permission to enter before she did.

"Y-you wanted to see me sir?" she asked as the head teacher motioned for her to take a seat.

"Good morning Lea..I see you're finding things a little difficult here at Queen's high.." he started, reading the reports the other teachers had given him about their rebellious student.

"After speaking with your mother and some of the staff, we've decided to work around to make a timetable where you will be more comfortable"

Leo blinked, not expecting this, she was expecting to be punished for running out of school. Though Splinter had scolded her, she felt like she had gotten off easy.

"I can see you'd rather be isolated than with your fellow students and so I am arranging a few one on one classes for you"

"Really?!" she said, brightening at the idea of one on one classes.

"Correct, music...you will have a different tutor, gym will become martial arts practice and other lessons such as Math, English and Science you shall be learning with a one on one tutor. This will mean your break and lunch will be at different times, however, I feel this will benefit you"

Leo smiled and nodded "I..thank you sir"

"Not only this but you shall have a time out pass, allowing you to leave a grouped lesson and go to an area of the school to think as your mother put it. Feel free to come to my office if you need too"

"I can see you have alot of potential, all you need is the guidance to achieve it...don't let anyone tell you different..you will do great things Lea..like you have in the past"

"Thank you sir, thank you so much..I don't know how to repay you"

The principle smiled "How about staying in the school during school hours? deal? oh and you'll also have to take dance class...but that will also be one on one, we have been given enough funding to try out this new scheme and you seemed to be the best test subject"

Leo gave a small laugh, "deal".

The passing days showed an improvement in Leonardo's behavior and attitude. Now she couldn't wait to go to school and she was enjoying her lessons. Whenever she was stressed she would use her time out card and return to class once she had calmed down.

The dark days were looking up, the cheerleaders had left her alone now that they didn't see her and she hadn't fought with Don since, infact they hardly saw anything of each other...both so consumed in their school work.

Leo was finding that she was enjoying dance and music now that she had someone giving her a chance, but she kept her musical talents and dance lessons to herself, not wanting the others to know. She was starting to develop a rather cofident but sometimes shy personality, a sweet smile and a beautiful sparkle in her eyes.

Master Splinter had never been happier, he had never seen his child in such a glow that it filled him with glee everytime she walked in after a day of school. The isolated learning scheme was working and it was working well.

At the weekends Donatello and herself would go out on dates, making up for all the time they didn't see each other and Leo even made an effort with her appearance. Taking advice from April and picking outfits she liked and thought Don would like too.

Life was perfect..until..

Leo was taking her books out of her locker, getting ready for music class while the other students got ready for lunch.

"Hey Lea..haven't seen you for a while"

"Hey Bruce, what's up?" she asked as the jock leaned against the lockers next to her.

"oh wow...who are you and what have you done with that sassy, fiery chick that everytime I talked to got so badly burned it was ice cold?"

"Don't worry, she's still here...but you're being polite so no point in being rude to you" she said as she closed her locker "Walk and talk?"

"Sure" He said with a grin "You and Don are looking happier...been seeing much of each other?"

"Not that much really, we have our weekend dates...but thats about it, not that I don't enjoy them"

"hmm..well, you know as long as you know what's going on.." Bruce said rubbing the back of his head.

"What do you mean by that?" Leo asked, looking at the boy.

"Well...just Brittany's been getting private tutoring from Don..at lunch..you know"

Leo shook her head "He does computer club at lunch time...that's..."

"What he told you right?" Bruce said with a frown "Hate to be the bearer of bad news but...look" he said nodding towards one of the computer labs.

Leonardo looked over at the lab and felt her heart rip in two. There in the computer room, was unmistakably her boyfriend...his lips locked with the lips of the girl that had taken an instant disliking to her and worked on making her school life hell.

The blue wearing former turtle felt tear form in the corner of her eyes and she turned and ran, pushing through the crowds of students, including her brothers.

"Leo?" Raph asked seeing his sister running off.

Leo ran as fast as she could, out of the school building and down the street. She ignored the sounds of the teachers calling her back and just ran, straight to Second Time Around.

She ran through the shop and up the stairs, startling April and Casey as they spoke with a customer.

"Please excuse me, that's my adopted daughter, I must see to her" April apologized and left Casey to deal with the elderly woman, as April hurried up the stairs after Leo.

She had heard the bathroom door slam and went to investigate, finding Master Splinter already standing at the door and hearing the heart broken sobbing from the other side.

"Leo? Leo it's April...please let me in honey"

Leo looked at herself in the mirror, tears streaming down her cheeks as she lost complete control of her emotions. How could Donny do that to her? He said he loved her and then he does that.

"What do I do?" she asked herself "I..I can't stay here..."

Leo was starting to get frustrated with her beautiful long hair and took it into her hands, opening the bathroom draws and pulling out a pair of scissors. She took a deep breath before starting to cut the locks.

The long hair fell as she cut it away, making it shorter and shorter until it was above her shoulders. Using her talent as a blade master she tidied her hair up and looked at herself in the mirror, realizing that without her long hair she looked like a boy.

"A boy..." she muttered softly before looking around the bathroom, finding the medical kit and pulling out the heavy duty bandages April kept stocked up.

She took her top off and bra and started to wrap the bandages around her chest tightly, binding her breasts down until they appeared flat.

After putting a hoodie on over the top and grabbing her school bag, Leo put her hood up and climbed out of her window, out into the city.

April frowned once the bathroom went silent, calling Casey up to the apartment, she got him to kick the door in and was shocked to find the sink full of the familiar, beautiful jet black hair that use to belong to her adopted daughter.

"oh...Leo..." she said softly, Master Splinter walking to the open window and looking outside, seeing no sign of his daughter.

(Half an hour earlier)

Donatello stood up from the computer he had been working on and stretched, needing to stretch his legs, when suddenly the room was filled with strong perfume.

He instantly knew who had just walked into the room, "What do you want Brittany?" he asked the cheerleader that had been harassing his girlfriend.

"Just...you know...to cheer you up, you've been looking awfully lonely without your little slut at your side"

"How dare you say that about her?!"

"This is how I dare" Brittany said with a grin, moving in and kissing Donatello, knowing that if her plan had worked, Bruce would have been walking around the corner with her nemesis any second.

Sure enough, she could see out of the corner of her eye the young student she hated run off, having seen what had just happened.

Donny pushed Brittany away "What the hell?! Stay the hell away from me Brittany!" he yelled, earning the attention of Raph and Mikey, who were torn between chasing after Leo or running to Don's aid.

"Leo's long gone, come on" Raph said as they rushed into the lab "What's going on her?!"

"She kissed me!" Don said brushing himself off.

"Don't tell me you didn't enjoy it..." Brittany said with a grin "Might aswell make the most of it, after the look on losers face, you won't be getting any kisses from her any time soon"

"That's why she ran off?!" Mikey growled.

"You planned this!" Raph glared, putting himself between the cheerleader and Donatello "Get out of my sight!"

Brittany laughed softly before winking and blowing them a kiss as she walked out the door "good luck fixing that emotional trainwreck boys!".
