Sun and Moon (a 'Pokemon X/Y' fic)
Disc.: I will never ever own a great series like this one, so for now I'll to settle on writing fics like this one.
A/N: So, I can't help but be grateful for all the wonderful people who like reading this story…I'm so glad I could backflip until my spine gets tied into knots, but then I wouldn't be able to write anymore. Therefore, I will refrain from any (literally) back breaking tasks in order to bring you this chapter.
Ch.12- Desperation
Ash walked down the long hallway of Team Flare's science division headquarters, Houndoom walking next to him and keeping an eye out for anything that would be deemed a threat against his master. The Team Flare grunt, his red hair styled into some ridiculous design, kept walking ahead of the raven haired Trainer and the Dark Pokemon at his side until they arrived at a pair of red painted double doors with gold brushed handles.
The grunt pressed a button on a key pad built into the right side wall and spoke into it, Houndoom growling lowly at the voice coming out on the other side…the raven haired trainer running a soothing hand between his horns and reassuring him that they would be alright.
After waiting a few more minutes, the red suit wearing grunt turned to Ash and told him that their boss would see him now. The raven haired Trainer nodded silently and walked into the office with Houndoom at his side, the Team Flare grunt closing the doors behind him and walking away without a second thought. When Ash looked away from the doors, he saw a dark brown leather chair facing him but it soon turned to reveal a man old enough to be his father; the man wore a grey coat with white fur lining the collar, his orange-red eyes taking in the boy who'd come to see him with a rather unusual proposal.
The man wore a red ascot around his neck and orange-red hair that matched the goatee on his chin, his hair styled in such a way that it resembled a male Pyroar's fiery mane. Ash was very careful of this man, but he already had a plan in mind should things go bad quickly.
"So, you're the boy who said he had a plan for the future of all Pokekind?"
"I am…my name's Ash, and this is my partner Attila."
"Hmm…well met. My name is Lysandre Rockwell, and I too have a plan for the best interests of all Pokemon. I assume you'll want to explain your own to me, young one…please, enlighten me."
Ash nodded wordlessly and began relaying his ultimate goal to the leader of Team Flare.
"Mr. Rockwell, I'm sure you're aware of the suffering of Pokemon at the hands of thoughtless Trainers…those who think nothing of using Pokemon only for battle or sport, or even for slavery in every sense of the word. I have a plan to teach those heartless rule breakers a lesson, for good…it'll take quite a few resources and some time, but I have no doubt you and your Team Flare can help me to accomplish this task."
"Hmm…and just what are you suggesting?"
"My plan is probably better demonstrated through action, rather than words…so allow me to show you. Attila, use Glare on Lysandre!"
Before the redhaired Team Flare leader could even register what the raven haired Trainer meant, he found himself shrinking back in fear at the Houndoom's murderous eyes…they promised him a slow and extremely painful death by way of incinerating him down to his bones, to where he would feel the pain even in the depths of his soul as Ash called out his Aegislash.
"Aegislash, use Hypnosis on Lysandre."
The Steel and Ghost Pokemon nodded before floating in front of Lysandre, Aegislash moving his hands around in a hypnotic rhythm that soon lulled the redhaired Team Flare leader into a trance and thus made him more willing to listen to any sort of claim…no matter how catastrophic.
"Now then, Lysandre…I have a plan. Are you ready to listen?"
The redhaired Team Flare leader nodded mutely, his eyes having become devoid of any emotion or state of mind as the raven haired Trainer smiled somewhat deviantly before continuing where he'd left off.
"There is a weapon sleeping beneath this town, a great machine that can absorb energy and share it with the world…it can also exterminate life, but it is powerless right now. In the heart of Desolation Valley, there is a cocoon that contains a powerful Pokemon named Yveltal. I'm sure you've heard of him, haven't you?"
Again, Lysandre nodded mutely and this made Ash continue once more.
"The weapon can give Yveltal back his strength, and once he is fully restored…he will punish the rule breakers of this world and bring peace back to the abandoned and abused Pokemon, as well as those who have yet to be hurt by humans. Will you help bring Yveltal back and use his power to restore peace to the world?"
Lysandre looked at Ash and nodded, his mouth creasing into a somewhat wicked smile.
"Of course…it would be my greatest honor to assist you…Lord Yedidyah."
(Elsewhere with Clemont and Bonnie)
The two sisters were currently traveling with Bonnie and Clemont to Geosenge town, but due to the monorail breaking down from accidently spooking a colony of Electrode and making them self destruct, they all had to walk…Hope was running low on power so she couldn't even use her rings to teleport them, Diana not really knowing how to open portals herself also made it that much more difficult for them to get there fast enough to save Ash from Yveltal's possession of his body.
Diana estimated that since they were clear on the other side of Kalos, it would take a few months to get to Geosenge Town. Clemont didn't really like walking all that much, running even less…but if it was to save his boyfriend, then he would walk through Hell or highwater to get him back.
When they finally reached Laverre City, it was nightfall so Clemont used the money he got from selling some of his working inventions to put them up for the night. As Bonnie lay sleeping and the sisters were also asleep in their own beds, the blonde Gym Leader thought of everything he'd been told by Hope and Diana. He was surprised that Ash had gotten possessed by Yveltal, and was now even more worried of what would happen if he was allowed to stay that way.
(Next morning)
When the blonde Gym Leader, Bonnie, and the two sisters had finished eating breakfast, they all headed out and hoped to make more progress than yesterday. After walking for nearly 2 months, they were finally in Lumiose City again…whereupon they all decided to check into another hotel for the night. As they walked into the lobby, they registered a room for 4 and Clemont looked behind him when he felt something bump into the back of his leg.
When the blonde Gym Leader looked down, he was surprised to see a Shieldon looking up at him shyly…the little Steel Pokemon looking away in embarrassment of having run into someone and started mumbling an apology in its' native tongue.
Clemont smiled down at the little Pokemon and leaned his hand towards its' head, the pale digits stroking the hardened skin gently and making a happy chirp come from Shieldon's mouth.
"Shieldon, where are you?"
Clemont looked up when he heard the voice of a girl around his age, the girl running around the lobby looking for her Pokemon…the blonde Gym Leader guessed that the Shieldon belonged to her, so he picked up the little Steel Pokemon and carried it to where he saw her currently standing around calling for her lost Pokemon.
"Excuse me, miss…is this your Shieldon?" Clemont said to the girl standing near him, a gasp leaving his lips when he saw that she looked like his boyfriend…if he'd ever decided to take up cross-dressing.
"My Shieldon! Thank you so much for finding him…my name's Anna. What's yours?"
"Clemont. You look a lot like Ash, for a second I thought you were him."
"You know my brother? Have you seen him anywhere?! Do you know where he is!?"
Before Clemont could answer the girl's questions, a man with raven colored hair and wearing a blue suit with a blue fedora and black shirt came up to the both of them.
"Anna, stop asking this boy a thousand questions…he looks ready to run away. Thank you for finding Anna's Shieldon, it was a gift from a family friend. My name's Riley, and Anna is my niece."
"I'm Clemont, and I'm traveling with my sister Bonnie. We're trying to get to Geosenge Town, but the monorail system is down and we had to walk from Anistar City to here…is Ash really Anna's brother? He never mentioned her when I asked him about his family."
"Perhaps this isn't the best place to discuss personal issues, let's go to our hotel room." Clemont nodded and showed them to his room. Upon reaching the room, all of them sat down or stood up and started talking about what had happened during the last few months.
After the conversation ended, Riley told Bonnie and Clemont about Ash's childhood…how his father was the leader of Team Rocket and would always push him to be the greatest Trainer ever, and would yell at him if he messed up during a training exercise. The man of course never physically hurt his son, but he would verbally tell him that he could do better and not waste time being so weak hearted. Riley, of course, would tell his nephew that he was doing just fine and took him to pick berries at his orchard for hours on end…no cruel words or anything between them, just berry picking and quite a few hugs.
Clemont and Bonnie could hardly believe all that they'd been told, Diana and Hope also awestruck at all that'd been shared between the humans. It certainly explained why Ash would allow himself to become Yveltal's vessel, that Pokemon always seemed to know the perfect way to manipulate others to do his bidding…oftentimes using their greatest weakness against them.
In Ash's case, it was his scarred childhood and less than perfect relationship with his father Giovanni.
"So, we need to get to Geosenge Town in less than a month…anyone know how we can get there, besides walking?"
"Hey, uncle Riley…don't you have a car parked out near Route 14?"
"Yes, I do…for now though, we should probably rest up. It's already sundown and we'll need all the strength we can get if we're gonna save Ash from the clutches of Team Flare."
Clemont nodded before Anna and Riley left the room, the blonde Gym Leader and his sisters settling in for the night while Hope and Diana decided to keep watch for a little while before falling asleep themselves.
Clemont cried in his sleep, his heart praying that Ash would be okay and returned to his side again…the bed he was lying in all alone feeling empty and cold.

T.B.C.- Sorry this took so long to get done, but I was delayed by back breaking yard work that left me physically exhausted for a few days…I was too tired to start the chapter until yesterday evening, and even then I was wiped out so I finally finished it today. Hope you guys can forgive me for the long delay but I'm sincerely praying that you like this chapter.
