a message to readers

It all began in January of 2020. I was an 18 year old senior in high school. I was just beginning to watch a random show named PAW Patrol, and I enjoyed it more than I could have expected. I started watching episodes on the weekends, and by March 11, 2020, I was in it for the long haul.

Because on that March day, the world stopped in its tracks. The world became empty and quiet, plus many people looked to varying sources of entertainment during the initial months of quarantine. But I found an unexpected opportunity in the wake of the COVID pandemic: despite the fact that I was now in virtual learning, I decided to set a goal for myself: watching every single episode of PAW Patrol up to that point. It was not exactly an easy task. I would wake up at 6 in the morning to catch an episode sometimes, which wasn't exactly ideal. But I trudged on until June of 2020, where I finally graduated high school and completed binging PAW Patrol up to that point.

This was about the time when my adult life began to take shape. I got a full time job at a grocery store just down the street from where I live, and I began to develop something in my head that I…just couldn't explain at the time.

The adventures of Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rocky, Rubble, Zuma, Everest and their leader, Ryder, enthralled me during that initial few months of COVID, but these thoughts of the characters doing some wacky things became apparent. I was like, what the fuck? I'm gonna write PAW Patrol fanfiction?! I wasn't exactly keen on writing any material. I hadn't taken a writing class in 6 years at that point, and my writing back then was cringeworthy. I was out walking in the parking lot one day at my job when an idea popped into my head. What if I make the main pups into teenage, fully sized dogs for my fanfiction? The brainstorm resulted in the first story I wrote in July 2020, Downcast Dalmatian. I can't believe it's been three years since then, holy moly. Shortly after writing that first story, a nuclear explosion of ideas followed. Inspired by some events of 2020, popular culture and my own life experiences, I wrote the first 6 stories and some short story entries.

By December of 2020, I was heavily interested in the fandom side of PAW Patrol. You know, deviantart, fanfiction and stuff like that. Some artists, like Rainbow Eevee and kreazea's drawings were so good that it made me feel like I was twelve again. But the fanfiction inspired me more than anything else. Writers like Havochound, Medic Glace and others made me realize that I should put my stories online. And I did just that. On January 4th, 2021, I established my account and put up a simple character bio.

The journey that started in July 2020 really took off, as I published more and more stories on the online platform. The thing that really gets me is that I NEVER expected to go this far in terms of production.

I wrote stories about so many subjects, I still can't believe it myself. I couldn't have imagined the sheer output of creativity I even had.

I wrote stories about death and tragedy.

I wrote a story about a wacky misadventure with the pups winning the lottery and even sports. I know how much you guys care about the latter.

I wrote stories about how love can be tighter than bark on a tree, even in the darkest moments.

I wrote stories about ChasexSkye and MarshallxEverest expanding their relationships from first dates to marriage.

I also wrote stories about their respective romances evolving in a, well, not so child-friendly kind of way.

I wrote stories about music and how wonderful it really is, from two karaoke talent shows to Pup Pup Boogie.

I wrote a crossover featuring Blue's Clues.

I wrote in two OCs that became integral parts of the later stories I wrote.

I made Rocky gay. And I also put him on the spectrum because…well…he somewhat relates to me.

It has been 2 ½ years since I established this profile, and I've been on an incredible journey since, thanks to all of you.

But, unfortunately, I do believe that things come to an end.

No, I'm not depressed. No, I don't hate the show. No, I am not showing any disdain towards any of you in particular by doing this.

But I feel like this has to be done.

This story, All Dogs Go To Heaven, is the last story I'll ever type on this site.

After finishing with the publishing of this story, with a heavy heart, I am permanently retiring from writing PAW Patrol fanfiction or any fanfiction altogether.

It's not that I don't have a will or have lost all the motivation. It's that I have nothing left to give. I've typed every story I've wanted to type. I've tackled everything I wanted to do.

And, also, I just turned 22. I am ready to put this part of me behind and focus on a new chapter in life: really turning into an adult. And by that, I mean getting a new job, getting an apartment, and hopefully, maybe get a girlfriend.

Like I said before, I don't hate this show. I just lost interest in how the show is portrayed. The show has a bunch of flaws from an adult viewpoint, but whatever. I will forever have a soft spot for PAW Patrol, as it helped me get through COVID during 2020 and 2021, respectively.

I have plainly zero desire to write a spinoff. I'm standing by this "retirement" through and through.

If you're afraid that I would delete this account, don't worry. I'll leave everything untouched for readers to enjoy for as long this site remains up.

If any of you want to use any of my OCs for your own stories, just message me. I'll say yes pretty much 100% of the time. In fact, I would be very flattered. But that's besides the point.

But, of course, I do feel sadness by doing this. I've been writing stories for 3 years and it has been a great escape for me during these years when I've formed into the adult I am today. Writing one of the scenes towards the end really had me stop for a moment. That's how hard writing this story was.

It was tough just even typing this little intro.

I've met some wonderful people on this site, and a few, I even consider friends.

Kian…Josh…you guys know who you are. Thanks for the love and I wish your lives and stories prosper for years to come.

To all the people who favorited me as an author and some others.

Thank you so much for following me and your support of my writing. I've had conversations with some of you and a few of you have left reviews on my work, and I am grateful for all of you.

I want to thank anyone who's left a review on any of my stories (even if it's bad). It's always cool to hear your opinions. When it's a good review especially, it means the world to me.

I know is an online platform, but I couldn't have possibly imagined that people all over the world were reading my work. To readers from Canada, England, France, Russia, the Philippines, Ireland, China, Mexico, Australia, and everywhere in between, thank you all for the love.

And lastly, I want to thank all the readers that have ever laid eyes on any of my stories at all. If you read just one sentence or nearly all of my work, I appreciate your interest all the same.

Without you guys, I wouldn't be where I'm at right now in my journey.

You know about these things, right? Prince's Purple Rain. John Lennon's Imagine. David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly.

These were the greatest peaks of these artists' careers. Their "magnum opuses" so to speak.

And I'm ready to give you guys one last story that will hopefully be my own magnum opus. You guys deserve the best for last, and it's so wonderful that I have this opportunity to share it with you.

I'll publish the first chapter of this story in a few days.

In the meantime, thank you for everything. I love you all.

Be the light- mitch :)
