Prologue: Rebirth
It is believed that when someone dies, the essence of who that person was is then transferred into a new body, given new life. The essence of who they once were is still there, but they cannot remember. This is known as reincarnation. A very shoddy form of immortality if you ask me.
There must've been a glitch...
Because I remember everything.
I remember walking in Downtown Seattle on a cold December afternoon. I remember crossing the street. I remember the asshole who drove right into me. A black and white Chevy Silverado, driving at top speed because the bastard who was driving it must've been drunk or something.
And as my vision went black, it felt weird. I could still breathe normally. My lungs should have collapsed by now, but I could still breathe.
A bright light then blinded me.
It couldn't have been hell, I didn't feel pain.
It couldn't have been heaven, I still felt alive…
Then as my vision adjusted to the brightness, I saw two figures looming in front of me… and a male voice spoke.
"It's a boy."
This was the moment that I freaked out. I was still trying to grasp the reality of my situation. Or maybe I was trying to cope with the fact that I was once again an infant. So I did the only thing I could do.
Cry.
"What should we name him, my love?" A feminine voice, whom I can only assume is my mother, said.
"I want his name to be very masculine and strong. How about…...Khan!" The voice of my apparent father said.
"Of course, only a man as vain as you would name his son after himself."
"Well I am very masculine, it only fits that my flesh and blood carry on my likeness."
She giggled at that remark.
As my vision finally began to clear up, I noticed a very big change…
They were wolves...a big carbon black wolf, who I assume is my father, and a petite white wolf who I can assume is my mother.
And they both stared at me as my crying became louder. I was terrified. As one should be when two big wolves are looking down to you.
"Shh...don't worry little pup. You're okay. Hush now."
She began to gently rock me up and down...and it felt oddly relaxing. Like I was truly safe with these weird talking wolves.
She began to raise me up. She looked at me and I looked right back.
Her face shared a look of love...one that I have not seen from my original mother for a very long time.
I couldn't help but think that things would be different now than they were back then. But no need to dwell on the past. As this is my new future. No longer as Daniel Johnson, but as Kahn.
I can only hope my life will be more eventful here than it was before.
This is an experimental project I've been working on for the past few months. If you're wondering about my other story KFP: Strange New World, don't worry. I'm NOT postponing that. I'm still working on its new chapter, but as I was, I managed to think up a whole new story in the process. I know I have like four other fics in progress, but I can't help myself. (I'm a writing machine, what can I say ;D) Anywho. I thought I'd get it over with and publish the chapters I already had finished for this story. Hopefully you'll like em. I probably won't be concentrating too much on this fic as opposed to my Strange New World one, but I feel like I'm gonna be writing more for this in the near future.
