Chapter Thirty – Two: Cousins & Photo booth Stickers…-
Date: May 6th, 2012
Location: Tokyo Midtown, Roppongi, 'Blue Diamond' restaurant
Time: 10:55 AM
"Lovely atmosphere," Eugene took a seat across from Alexander and Asami.
"It is," Alexander yawned, "But…- truthfully I didn't make the reservations."
"Alex, I see that your sleeping habits haven't changed at all," Chuckled Eugene before speaking to Asami, "Thank you for inviting me to this elaborate restaurant on such short notice."
"No problem," Asami said, handing Alexander a tissue to wipe off his drool, "So…- um…- how long are you staying?"
"Two months," Eugene ran his hand through a strand of his platinum blond hair, "Only until everything simmers down back in New York."
Asami filled his white porcelain cup with Jasmine tea from the teapot on the table.
"Lady troubles?" Alexander asked only to have Asami whack him on the head," Ouch! What was that for?!"
"You don't ask your cousin directly his personal troubles with the ladies!" Asami shouted, "Just what kind of cousin are you?!"
Eugene sweat dropped, "I-it's ok, Asami. I'm sure that Alex didn't mean anything…- by what he asked."
"Yeah," Alex rubbed the lump on his head, "I was only curious."
"I apologize," Asami said before snapping her fingers, signaling for a waiter immediately.
"Hello madam. How can I help you?" Asked the waiter, dressed in a sky blue changshan.
"We'll start with an order of bamboo rice dumplings and steamed fish with calamari," Asami paused diverting her attention to Eugene, "How does red bean buns sound to you?"
"Delicious. Don't worry. I'm willing to eat whatever your ordering," Eugene's topaz eyes sparkled.
"Ok then that will be all for now," Asami smiled, "Oh…- wait, we'll have the mango coconut pudding for dessert."
The waiter nodded, repeated the orders to make sure he didn't miss anything, and then took his leave. Alexander yawned before taking a sip of his Jasmine tea. Eugene could tell that his young cousin wasn't fully awake. There was a moment of silence between the three until Eugene finally spoke. His topaz eyes were sparkling with excitement.
"So how is the student life going at the academy?"
"Hnn. Fine," Alexander shrugged his shoulders. His eyes were focused on the pink flowers stenciled onto the white teapot.
"Really?" Eugene smirked bringing the end of his fork to his chin, "No ladies in the academy setting your heart on fire?"
"No," Alexander replied even though a shade of crimson was dusting his cheeks.
"I don't believe you," Eugene smirked twirling the fork between his fingers, "However I can visit the academy. Maybe…- this Tuesday?"
"Eugene!" Alexander shouted startling Asami, who almost choked on her tea.
Eugene chuckled in amusement. To him, Alexander was like a younger brother. It was fun teasing Ekstasis's Hypnos. Eugene had more in common, unlike his two older brothers back in Paris, France.

Swish. Flick. Pause. Swish. Scribble. Scribble. Swish. Pause.
"Seriously Hijirikawa!" Groaned Ren, tossing a crumpled paper into the recycling bin before reclining back in the sofa, "Just call her. I'm sure she'll pick up right away."
Masato frowned, "Jinguji you should…-"
"Yeah," Ren waved his hands, "I know. I should mind my own business."
"Quite correct," Masato continued on with his calligraphy.
Ren sighed, running his hand along the side of his saxophone, which was resting in his lap. Masato was becoming…- what's the word? Ah, yes. Worried. Earlier in the day, the blue haired pianist had hoped to ask the enchanting siren out on a date. Disappointing. When he thought the time was right, Chi told him that Asami was out with Alexander. Too bad that the Aoi Vixen had no clue as to where they were. Masato set his calligraphy brush aside, staring at the inked paper.
"Turmoil of the heart," Ren said out loud before setting his saxophone on the recliner, "Hijirikawa, you are hopeless."
Masato glared at Ren. What a way to rub it in. The saxophonist left the dorm room, leaving Masato to sort out his 'worry.' Masato flipped the paper over, hesitated for moment before taking his cell phone out from his dresser drawer. No, yes, no…- yes. Three rings from the other end until his call was answered.
"Hello?"
Masato raised an eyebrow. The voice on the other end didn't belong to Asami. An unknown male with an attractive French accent speaking fluent English?! Too. Suspicious.
"M-may I speak to Asami?"
"Asami? Oh…- wait a moment…- Alex, take over. I can't understand what this guy is saying."
Masato sweat dropped. Damn. A few words were already exchanged and already there was a language barrier. He sighed, realizing he really needed to improve his knowledge on the English language.
"Hnn. Hello Masato…- what's up?"
"Alex, is Asami with you? I would like to speak to her."

"Oh…- she's busy at the moment," Alexander said before yawning once again.
"Busy. Hmm…- I'll talk to her later. Well then, goodbye," Masato sighed.
"Hnn. Bye," Alexander murmured, hanging up at the same time as Masato.
Odd. By the tone in Masato's voice there was a hint of disappointment. Alexander shook his head, it was clear to him that the poker – faced pianist was worried about something. Alexander handed Asami's cell phone to Eugene, who slipped it back into her shoulder bag. The enchanting siren at the moment was trying out various costumes in one of the dressing cubicles. It's not like she wanted to play dress – up. But earlier at the restaurant, Eugene had invited the Asami and Alexander to a party.
Masquerade ball where the theme is 'Dark & Dangerous.' This party would be hosted by one of Eugene's friends… or was it a rival? Oh. Well. The two had accepted the invitation, since they had promised to keep him company throughout his days in Japan.
"A devil, an angel, a mummy, or a vampire," Eugene listed while looking through a costume rack, "But no werewolf."
"Doesn't matter…- I'll stick to the mummy costume."
"If something goes wrong. You'll let everyone see your birthday suit," Eugene smirked, "I don't think the mummy costume is suited for you."
"Hnn. I'll ask Chi to help me out," Alexander murmured fiddling with the end of his scarf.
"Chi…- Chi…- oh you mean Ms. Tsukiyomi?"
"Yes. She's into Cosplay," Alexander yawned.
"Cosplay?" Eugene raised an eyebrow, "Is that code word for something kinky?"
"Eww, no!" Alexander exclaimed a bit bewildered.
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!" Eugene unconsciously burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" Asami asked, entering at the right moment.
"Nothing," Alexander sighed.
Eugene placed his arm around Alexander's shoulders, before he ruffled his cousin's hair. Asami giggled at the expression across Alexander's face. Hypnos was pouting like an adorable puppy. Eugene eyed the slinky black dress that Asami was holding.
"Seductive vampire. Excellent choice."
"Vampire? No. I'll be different supernatural creature," Asami smiled, "All I need to do is ask my friend to make a few adjustments on this piece."
"I look forward to seeing the final results," Eugene winked, topaz eyes sparkling.

"Wow. Amazing genetics," Chi said, once she saw the photo booth sticker that Asami has pasted onto a pencil case.
"Captivating, right? Those two could almost pass as siblings," Asami placed another sticker, this time on the back of her cell phone, "We ended up taking a lot, since Eugene was fascinated by the photo booth."
"Why don't you take one with your swe~etie?" Chi teased, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Chi!" Asami exclaimed, a shade of crimson dusting her cheeks.
"Oh come on girl ~ admit it. The hormones are totally electrified between Masa-chan and you," Chi devilishly smirked, "Even you're fans on the Saotome web blog are already supportive of the relationship."
Asami rolled her eyes, "Comments on a web blog don't count."
"Whatever," Chi wiggled a finger, "You can't d – e – n – y those fluffy sensations! I'm totally with blogger #103 STARISHshinesON, who wrote on the recent article, 'Masa-kun will be a great boyfriend. The two will create beautiful babies in the future.' Asami, admit it that you want to be the destined wife for Masato."
"Don't push it," Asami glared at Chi, "The topic is taboo. One more word and I'll see to it that your dress collection…-"
"Ok, ok. I get it. The web blog is taboo," Chi sweat dropped, "But…- attending the masquerade ball with Alex and Eugene. Shouldn't you get Yuu-kun to escort you?"
"Too late. He knows that I'm in capable hands," Asami laid back in the sofa, "All I have to do is socialize with the other guests."
Chi sighed, "Dear. God. That's not what I meant."

Completely. Frustrating. Ren eyed the metallic wristband that was strapped around his left wrist. An annoyance that's what it was. When Yuudai slipped it onto his wrist it instantly shrunk in size. A bracelet that he couldn't get off no matter how hard he struggled. 'You should act properly as a gentleman not as the flirt next door,' Yuudai had told Ren, before explaining that if he ever touched Asami again the metallic bracelet would 'tame' him. Ren flexed his hand. The numb sensation was still there. He had only touched Asami on the shoulder, when she came back with Alexander a few hours ago. In turn, he managed to receive a painful jolt of electricity from the wristband that sent him flying head first into the lake. Oh. Yes. Yuudai was a sadist underneath that calm façade. Ren sighed. Damn. It. He would need to go shopping tomorrow for a new cell phone since his old one was already useless from the lake incident.
"Jinguji, you do realize that you're fighting against a greater force?" Asked Masato placing a towel around his shoulder, already dressed in a blue yukata since he was heading off to bed.
"Hijirikawa, I clearly know that ~ it's becoming an annoyance…- this wristband," Ren sighed.
"It's for your own good. But what happens to you is none of my concern."
Ren sweat dropped, "Now, now. Your sounding like a bit too much like Dai-kun."
