Right I'm taking a break from my revision in order to write! Aren't I a nice person? XD *pats myself on the head* I'm still hoping for 100 favourites and 100 reviews before the end and we're getting close! I want to say thank you now to LillianPost and Dwarven Warrior as they have been my most loyal reviewers! (THANK YOU GUYS) Anyway I think I'm one chapter away from the BoFA soooooooooooooooooooooooo exciting! And now I will continue!

Kili had had a restless night. Dark shadows lay under his eyes and he yawned deeply, he couldn't stop thinking about her. His demeanour changed as he approached Bard's tent. He stopped outside when he heard the voices of Gandalf, Bard and King Thranduil. It surprised him that the wood-elf king was there.

"It's just as enchanting as legend states it to be!"

"Yes Bard. When I first laid my eyes upon it I knew it to be the most beautiful that could be created apart from the three great jewels of old."

A cough sounded and the voices hushed. Gandalf spoke.

"I do believe that this conversation is no longer private. Come in Fili...you as well Kili."

Kili jumped at the sound of his name and was even more surprised when he saw his brother emerge from the other side of the tent. A white glow drew his eyes to the table between the three men and kili gasped. A large white jewel, a truly magnificent jewel lay in the middle of it. An exquisite aura surrounded it and amplified its beauty. Fili whispered.

"The arkenstone...but how?"

"Ah Fili...it does not matter how it came to be here..."

Gandalf scooped up the jewel and placed it in a box before sealing it and pulling up his hood.

"What matters now is if Thorin is willing to see sense for it!"

With that the wizard swept out his tent and the rest followed after him towards the mountain.

...

SEVERAL HOURS LATER

Kili aimed an arrow at his uncle as he held Bilbo over the edge of the mountain. Thorin had lost his mind, he would never have done this if he was in his right way of thinking. Kili could see Balin and Dain, who'd arrived over night, trying to calm his uncle down and get him to put the poor, frightened hobbit on the ground. Gandalf whipped off his hood and glared at the dwarf king.

"THORIN OAKENSHIELD! PUT HIM DOWN AND LET HIM SPEAK!"
Begrudgingly Thorin did so, afraid to anger the wizard further. The sick king searched the ground and his eyes fell on his nephews and something inside of him wrenched in pain to see that they had their weapons drawn because of him. They aimed at him as if he were the enemy. Bilbo took a shaky breath and brushed himself down before speaking timidly.

"I chose the arkenstone as my share of the treasure and my contract states I am free to do what I will with my share. So I gave it to Bard so that this siege would end...now please Thorin, give the men what they're due!"

Thorin growled lowly and Gandalf placed the stone back in the box. Shaking his head, Bard turned to leave but turned back when he heard a shout from the mountain.

"WAIT!"

They all turned to look at the new King under the Mountain.

"I will agree to your terms...and YOU..."

He hounded on Bilbo.

"...are banished from Erebor under pain of death! Leave now and never return."

The hobbit gave a quick nod before bolting from Thorin's sight. Within a few minutes he was making his way towards Fili and Kili. Kili lowered his bow and Fili sheathed his knife as the hobbit came to a stop.

"That was a real brave thing you did Bilbo."

The hobbit shook his head.

"No it was a stupid thing but I felt I did it for the right reasons..."

Kili nodded and the three turned their backs to the mountain; walking away in silence after Gandalf, Bard and Thranduil.

...

They reached the men and elven camp swiftly and Bilbo parted with the brothers to speak to Gandalf. Men pottered about their business, elves conversed in their own language, Fili sat rolling a knife between his fingers and Kili was thinking of Lark. Then they heard it; a long piercing howl. It echoed throughout the vast stretch of land. Everyone stilled and Kili looked up. Silence followed for a heartbeat then a horn sounded. An orc horn. A beat began to roll, the beating of the drums of war. Men rushed to get weapons, elves readied their bows and Bard headed the top of the army.

"TO THE MOUNTAIN!"

Fili and Kili ran alongside Gandalf and Bilbo. It had begun, now was the time when fate would be tested. Now was the time of war.
