"Do you Fili son of Dis swear to uphold all of Erebor's laws and serve both the mountain and it's people?"

"I swear."

"Do you solemnly promise to be just and protect the heart of the seven kingdoms as your ancestors did before you?"

"I solemnly promise."

"Then arise King Fili Lord of Silver Fountains, descendant of Durin's Folk and the King Under the Mountain."

Fili rose, his blonde hair shone, under the mithril crown he wore, in the sun and his dark purple robes caught the fading light. Gandalf withdrew his hands from Fili's head and begun clapping slowly. Kili, in his dark royal blue tunic and grey trousers, began clapping wildly and soon the whole assembly was applauding loudly. Fili sat down on the throne of Erebor, the hollow case where the arkenstone once sat was now filled with glowing emeralds and rubies, and rest his hands on his lap. Lark was near the back of the crowd, beside Beorn and Bilbo, and clapped for her friend. Fili then stood and walked slowly down the long stretch between rows and rows of dwarves, elves and men. He sent a wink to Lark, who chuckled, and made his way towards the great hall. Packs of dwarves soon followed swiftly behind him.

...

Dwarves bustled about as Fili addressed royals and commoners that were present in the celebration. Lark sat and her dark maroon dress, which stretched over her swollen stomach, pinched painfully. A pair of strong arms looped round her from behind and she smiled, as a face buried itself in her neck.

"I'm so glad I'm not Fili right now..."

Lark giggled and looked at Kili.

"Why...i thought you LOOOOOOOOVVED the attention!"

He chuckled lightly and squeezed her gently, feeling the baby kick under his hold.

"Yes, but then I wouldn't have you..."

He kissed her.

"Or you..."

He kissed her stomach.

"And I would have all those maidens trailing after me all the time."

He pointed towards a large swarm of females that followed Fili's footsteps. Both chuckled as they saw the newly crowned king cast a quick glance behind him and then shoot a pleading look towards them. Lark leant her head back against Kili and sighed.

"Well I'm glad you're not Fili too! Because if you were then you would have no time for me..."

Kili pouted.

"I would always make time."

His face curled into a devilish grin and he kissed her neck gently. Fili sped walked over to them trying to shake his new groupies.

"Well...when I said I wanted maidens following me wherever I went I didn't think it'd be this bad!"

He chuckled lightly and picked up an ale. He looked at his brother and his One.

"So we've had my big party, when can we expect the big announcement?"

The sets of eyes in front of him widened and he chuckled.

"C'mon Kee it's not like you haven't thought about it! A dwarf and a shape-shifter. The first wedding that I'll be able to sermon over...also..."

He laid a hand on Lark's stomach and addressed the baby.

"You'll be the first baby I'll get to christen!"

With that he took a swig of his ale before noticing the pack again.

"Oh no...it's the rage of screaming hormones. Wish me luck!"

The pair chuckled and watched the king swagger off towards the girls, who all visibly blushed as he approached. One even fainted. Lark looked at Kili.

"So you've thought about marriage?"

He coughed nervously and looked into her eyes.

"Yeah...well...i thought and talked to Fee about it. But I won't if you don't want to...i mean a dwarf and a shifter...i don't want others thinking badly of you...because you're not a dwarf...but I could make them get over it if you wanted to...you know..."

Lark giggled and laid a finger on his lips.

"Shhh...I can't shift anymore."

His brown eyes widened and he tried to speak against her lips.

"Shh shhh shhh...my mother explained to me that we had our first baby, then they would inherit my gift and I would lose it. Not that I'm bothered...i can't think of any reason why I would want to shift ever again now that I have you both..."

She moved her finger from his lips and cupped his cheek. Kissing him gently, she wrapped her arms round his back.

"And I would love to marry you...but once the baby is born."

Kili let out a breath and nodded against her neck. Never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined himself to be where he was. Holding the woman he loved, and who carried his child, in his arms, his uncle to be at peace, his brother king and for his homeland to be home again. He picked up Lark and spun her round; she giggled and looked lovingly into his eyes. Kili knelt down.

"I love you Larka of the Greenwood, and wish to make you my wife! You make me the happiest dwarf in the whole of Arda and I never dreamt I would be as lucky as I am with you. If would have me, let me be yours!"

Kissing him sweetly, she looked down at him.

"Kili Durin son of Dis. I love you with my heart and soul. Never could I have foreseen this love I have with you and I would gladly be your wife for it would be an honour to me and complete my dreams...for I was made to be with you!"

He whooped and scooped her up again and kissed her deeply. The sun seemed to shine that little bit brighter that day.
