Ocean Girls: Just Add Water

Chapter 10

Author's notes: I don't own H20: Just Add Water or Ocean Girl unfortunately. Also since most of you except for one person said that Neri should turn into a mermaid. I decided that Neri will turn into a mermaid but she'll be able to control. I'm not sure how or when she'll find out yet, or what powers she'll have. I was thinking temporary invisibility for her powers. I guess I'll just start writing and see where it takes me.

"So..." Zane began, "Are you going to go back with Neri to her Island?"

"I think it would be for the best." Bella replied.

"But Bella, We can protect you from Will or whatever you need us to do." Lewis tried to reason with her. "There's no reason for you to leave."

"If I'm here Will will find out our secret." Bella responded. "I think the obvious choice is that I should go back to the Island."

"What about your parents though Bella?" Emma said, "When you disappeared they were really worried about you."

"I have to do this. It's the only way you guys will be safe from Will." Bella said trying to convince herself.

"So you're just going to turn your back on us?" Rikki demanded, "Your friends?!"

"This is just something that I have to do." Bella told them. "Besides Neri, Jason, and Brett are my friends too and now they need me more than you guys do."

"I understand." Cleo said sadly.

"You should at least let your parents know that you're okay." Ash responded. "Like Em, said they were freaking out."

"I will." Bella hugged all of her friends before leaving with Neri to swim back to her Island. She had forgottenall about her promise to call her parents before leaving to let them know that she was fine.

"You are sad?" Neri observed later after they had arrived back at her Island.

"I just didn't realise that I would miss them so much." Bella replied.

"You can go back if you want. I understand. You not have to stay here." Neri told her.

"But that's the thing." Bella replied. "I want to; but at the same time I really want to go back and stay with them." She sighed exasperated, "Why does this decision have to be so hard."

Neri looked at her friend Sympathetically. "All will turn out okay Bella."

"I hope so," Bella said pulling her legs to her chest. "God, I hope so."

"Maybe we should go after her and try to convince her otherwise." Cleo said.

"I don't think it's going to work at all Cleo." Emma told her, "You saw how she was. It seems like she doesn't feel like she belongs here at all."

"Then We have to convince her that she does belong here." Rikki said, "With us."

"Maybe we can throw her a party next time that she stops by to visit." Lewis suggested.

"That might work." Ash conceded.

"We could hold it at the café." Zane suggested.

"That would be perfect." Rikki agreed.

They began making plans for a party for whenever Bella would return. Even though they didn't know the date she'd be back. They still continued on their elaborate plans.

Meanwhile back on Neri's Island, Bella had become quite accustomed to Island life. She even wore an outfit just like Neri's, which Neri had made for her of course.

"Thank you Neri." Bella said gratituitously.

"You are welcome." Neri replied with a happy smile.

Everything seemed to be perfect, or near to perfect. It wouldn't last that way for long though.

It was days later and Bella finally remembered her promise to her friends. "Oh no!" Bella moaned.

"What is the matter Bella?" Jason asked concerned for his friend.

"I forgot to call my parents to let them know that I was okay before I left again." Bella told them. "They're probably worried sick about me." Bella felt extreamely guilty. She stood up, "I have to find a way to contact them."

"We could go back to ORCA and you could do a video call from there." Brett suggested.

"You could also call them." Jason told her, "We have cell phones, and landlines there."

"Really?" Bella asked. "I could?"

"Sure." Brett said. "All we have to do is sneak you on board. Piece of Cake."

"Don't let Brett fool you. It'll be a lot harder than he's letting on." Jason responded. "We'll have to sneak you past security and everyone else on the ship."

"Plus you'll have to steal an school outfit to blend in." Brett added.

"This'll be fun." Bella said sarcastically. "But I have to contact my parents so," She took a deep breath before continuing. "I'll have to risk it."

At ORCA Bella had managed to sneak into the building with Jason and Brett. They snuck her into their room. Jason handed over his cell phone to her and she dialed her parents home phone number.

"Hello?" Bella caught her breath as her mother picked up the phone.

"Mom?" She said hesitantly.

'Bella!" She said relieved, "Oh thank god, Where are you Bella?"

"I'm fine Mom, I'm staying with a friend."

"Hank come here!" Her mother called out, "Bella's on the phone." She could hear the sounds of her father rushing towards the phone.

"Bella?" He said breathlessly.

"Yeah, I'm here Daddy."

"Where are you sweetie?" Hank said to his daughter, "Tell us and we'll come and get you."

"You can't."

"What do you mean we can't?" Her mother asked as she put her on speaker phone.

"I'm far from home." Bella said choosing her words carefully.

"How far?" Hank said, "Bella, Sweetie where are you?"

"Right now, I'm at a place called ORCA." She admitted. "It's some kind of research facility place built in the Ocean."

Author's notes: So Bella let it slip that she's at ORCA. what will happen next. Also sorry sorry sorry for the long wait. I forgot about this story for a while honestly.
