Sup, Guys? Lighting Wolf here, back for another story, this one about Starfox. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Star Fox; Nintendo and a few others do.
There was a squadron of figures that passed through the space above Corneria. A squadron of Cornerian fighters belonging to the army. They all passed by a cruiser that housed more craft similar to them. All of them looped around by the cruiser's flight deck.
"All craft within Hurricane squadron are cleared to dock in hanger 2." They heard as they slowed their craft down to slowly dock when it came down to it. "Nice and peaceful. Comm? Send the data to General Pepper." He stated before he rolled his eyes and seemed all to fall quiet.
The captain of the warship was new, he was all too quiet when it came down to it. The war had been dusted by now and their main enemy is slain by the war effort and their enemies.
Still? There were a few loose enemies when it comes down to it. With Andross dead? His empire had split yet, many wished to reclaim his throne, ready to continue the war for their fallen emperor.
There had even been reports of someone leading them into a new war… If that was possible. They had more to do, more to handle.
The squadron set down in the hanger of the cruiser. Still? They had a lot to do at the second. A lot more on the ropes.
"Is it true? General Pepper is stepping down soon?" One of the soldiers questioned to which there was a nod. "I heard one of Star Fox is going to be stepping in for him. Will be pretty weird to see one of them running the show at the moment. Honestly will be pretty weird when it comes to it." The soldier stated before he seemed to roll his eyes.
He was honestly not one to handle this properly. The flow of recruits when it came down to it. A lot of new soldiers came to their ranks.
They had a lot to do when it came down to it. Rebuilding, retraining new soldiers. The military had been at the forefront of these operations. Ones which spanned beyond simply their systems… And ones that strained their already limited resources beyond what should have been possible.
Yet they were still here to help others. If they fell apart simply because of one invasion? They weren't to be worthy of existing.
"All staff are to report to the bridge for the time being. All staff is to report to the bridge for combat duty. All soldiers are requested." They heard before the officer cleared their throat. "Soldiers are to then report to quarters for the time briefing. The speech with General Pepper has been pushed to 12:30GM standard time. Any soldiers who require or demand any real questions are to report to Delta Base for further orders." He stated before the tone started to fall silent.
It was clear there were larger plans in order. Ones that were probably already in motion. It seemed as if they had a lot more to do before today ended either way. A lot more that hadn't yet come to pass. It was a lot odder than it seemed.
"Sir?" He heard as he turned to raise a glance over his shoulder towards the soldier in question. "We need to focus on the proper team dynamic. That's what I heard at least. It will help a lot with what comes next. The captain…" He heard before he seemed to watch the other soldier roll his eyes at him.
There were a few things on his mind. A lot more to be dressed with him. He needed a lot more on his mind when it came down to it.
The squadron of 4 about to become 6 slowly started to march towards the bridge where their commander waited. It was so odd of them to handle at the second.
They were so weirded out by this type of problem when it came to it. All of this became so odd if they were, to be honest. Still? Orders were orders and they obeyed them as properly as anything else. It had become so odd at the end of the day.
Yes. So blasted odd and yet so weird when it came down to it.
It had a lot of twists and turns.
Author Notes
Phew. The first chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be delayed and this story will be in its timeline. The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show more of the squadron and set the plot in motion. It will also be 900-6500 words and such. The next chapter will also be a bit longer. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
