He felt odd and slightly baffled as he lay on his bed, Google open on his laptop and the search bar empty and awaiting his request. He'd thought of asking the secret service, but had decided against it, thinking it would eventually get back to his father, which meant he'd have to find another way. That meant the so-called, old fashioned way of raking through search results on the internet. It felt forgiven and slightly like stalking but he needed to keep her away from his father's interest, and he was trying to grab the small semblances of normal that life allowed him. He typed in her name followed by 'Washington D.C' and hoped for the best as he hit enter.
He scouted through the similar Facebook pages, finding nothing. He'd checked twitter, LinkedIn, but it seemed she was as elusive to the world as she was to him. He sighed as he clicked through page after page, his hopes dwindling when he found an article featuring the women's state championship swim squad of Allbridge Academy. She was at the front, her face beaming as she griped the golden cup along with the rest of the girls in the team, but she seemed removed from them somehow. He smiled, this was her the way she was with him, raw and unpolished. He revelled in the sight and scrolled down to reveal the photo was only six months old, meaning he'd hit the jackpot. He shuts the laptop instantly as he heard voices approaching his room, followed by a knock. He jumped up and slid his laptop underneath his bed just before Tom came into the room.
"Sir, the President said you'd be expecting this." He said, before handing a yellow folder to Fitz.
"Thanks Tom." Tom took his cue and left the room swiftly, leaving Fitz to retreat back to his bed, opening the folder and scrolling over the long list of schools in D.C that were deemed appropriate by whoever ran things at the top. He had to hand it to them though because as he glanced at the top of the list he found the name he'd been searching for. He smiled as he realised that within the next week, he'd be seeing her everyday. This was his opportunity for normal and at the same time, this was his future. It was only just now that that the two seemed mutually exclusive.

Olivia sat in the school library, tapping away at her computer as she wrote several arguments on how Thomas Hardy's Far From the Madden Crowd was feminist work, specifically because of the flaws in his female characters. It was late afternoon and her attention waxed and waned between her inbox, her short story for creative writing and the essay she'd managed to get an extension on due to her prolific and outstanding grades thus far. She still hadn't mastered it, the idea that flaws were in some way a strength and even the idea that a woman who made such terrible choices in her personal life somehow ended up happily ever after was difficult to grasp. She didn't truly understand how to embrace her flaws as such. She was shy, reserved and reclusive, it didn't seem like any of these were strengths she could use to her advantage. She sighed, her head falling to the desk as she groaned and shut her eyes, somehow wishing that when she opened her eyes she would be far away from essays and responsibility. She opened them as she heard a small cough, only to find a tall and slim redhead sitting across from her. She raised her head in question and the girl smiled.
"I'm Abby Whalen, I was just wondering if I could have your help with something?"
Olivia nodded dozily and the girl stood and sat beside her on the table.
"I work for the school paper and we're staring a new column where we put in public opinions and thoughts about what everyone in the school is currently discussing and I just thought … maybe you'd have something insightful to add?"
"Uh… Sure, I guess." She shook her head to further bring herself out of the slump and patted down her hair which by now was a tangled mess that nothing could tame but she had to at least try. "What did you want to ask me about?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Abby looked at her like she was illiterate and Olivia shrugged.
"I guess I'm out of the loop."
"Oh my God! Then you haven't heard!" She equaled and leaned in close, like they were best friends sharing a secret, "Rumour has it that Fitzgerald Thomas Grant III, as in son of the President and the hottest teenager on earth is coming to attend this school for the next who knows how long, but that's not even the point because he's going to be in this school! In our classes, our halls, eating lunch with us in the cafeteria!"
She sat stunned and unmoving, her brain processing a million miles a minute. Was he coming here for her? He had to be! That's why he'd asked her where she wen to school! But was she enough? They'd only had a handful of conversations. What if he'd want to hang out with her? Everyone would stare, she'd be all over America if she ever-
"Earth to Olivia? Hello?" Abby waved a hand in front of her face and she blinked rapidly before coming back to their conversation with Abby staring curiously at her. "What happened? You just, like, spaced out… are you okay?"
She nodded and smiled, trying to put together some semblance of normal while she attempted to wrap her mind around the conundrum that was unravelling in her head.
"Yeah, thanks. Sorry, I just… I just remembered I actually have to meet with my calculus teacher before class, he's probably already mad I'm late so I'd better go. Bye!" The words split rapidly from her, as she grabbed her stuff, packing in into her bag swiftly before flying out the door of the room like it was on fire, leaving Abby sitting in a state of total confusion.

She burst through the girls toilets, somewhere in the back of her mind she heard the school bell screeching but she was too flummoxed to be brought from her thoughts. Instead she locked herself in a stall and piled both feet on top of the toilet seat as she sat curled up in a ball like she used to when she was little. She breathed deeply, assembling and grasping at her thoughts until they were in a manageable form before she slumped her shoulders and dropped her head onto her knees. She had to believe that this was about more than her, than them. She knew his father was struggling with his personal image, there were the rumours floating around of an affair as his wife lay dying of cancer, nothing had come out but perhaps this was the calm before the storm? That had to be why he was going to school, there'd be no other reason he'd be allowed! Which meant the pressure was shrinking, this wasn't on her and she didn't have to live up to anyone's expectations. She wasn't going to be cast as anything and her life would go on as normal, she was sure.
She sighed, her eyes opened and she stood slowly, shoulders back, head up and bag strung over her shoulder, she emerged from the stall. She paused in front of the sink and washed her hands, as if washing the thoughts from her mind, before quickly glancing in the mirror and breezing out the door. She began retrieving the books from her bag just as she turned the corner, she wasn't focusing as there weren't any people around to bump into, or so she thought. Quicker than she knew, her books were a mess on the floor as she collided with a form much taller than her own, glancing up to find a well-built man in a black suit staring at her questioningly. She went red and began gathering her things quickly as she heard him whisper something into his wrist. Confused, she stood and brushed herself off, apologising swiftly and turning to walk down the corridor, only to find a further more two more men just like the one she'd crashed into walking in a sort of formation. It dawned on her too late as she heard his full and beautiful voice bouncing off the empty hall.
"It's alright guys, I'm fine from here."
They parted and he stepped out between them, them continued walking but several paces behind him. She stood still and flabbergasted, this seemed more like a dream than anything remotely close to reality, the only thing confirming all this was in fact real was that when he reached her he smiled and offered his hand to her.
"Hi, I'm Fitzgerald Grant, newest student at Allbridge Academy." He said smoothly and with an effortless kind of charm radiating from every part of him
She shook her head, unbelieving and dazed, "You're… you're actually here?"
He nodded, his grin reminding her of a little boy giddy with his favourite form of sugar flooding his veins, she hadn't seen him this happy and the feeling was infectious.
"For how long?" She asked hesitantly and he stretched out his had to her boldly, but it felt as if it was the most natural thing in the world when she took it and she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. They began a slow and steady walk to class, but neither wanted their time together to end so quickly.
"A few weeks at least. Are you okay?" He meant it seriously because he never wanted to be making all the choices, it was simply his turn and his time to act. She nodded shyly and blushed, turning her gaze to the floor as she often did and in return his thumb stroked the back of her hand.
"I'm just… all the girls are going to go crazy over you, you do realise that?" She asked, testing the waters as she gauged his reaction. He simply rolled his eyes.
"Just another hazard of the job I guess." She elbowed him in the ribs and he laughed, recovering quickly when he realised she let go of his hand and began straying away from him towards a nearby classroom.
"Wait, Olivia." He said softly and she turned to see him looking at her intently. She fell under the spell and the power of his eyes, and later she would savour this moment and replay it over and over again, holding it close to her chest as thoughts of him swam in her head. "There is really only one girl whose opinion matters and I don't think anything, not even a crazy mob of hormonal teenage girls, can erase my feelings for her."
She smiled, "She sounds pretty incredible."
"She is." He said it simply but there were entire speeches and paragraphs in his words, essays on love and poems on feelings that soared like the wind in winter, whipping and catching everything in it's path, sweeping it up into oblivion.
"And she feels the same?" She was curios whether he knew, if he could see his effect on her, the goosebumps on her skin, the thumping of her heart each time they touched. It seemed to echo in her own ear that it seemed impossible for him not to hear it.
"Sometimes I think… I guess I don't know. Do you think there's any hope?" He looked filled with light and possibility.
She swallowed and forced herself to look at him as she said her piece, "There's more than hope, there's a future. She can see it when you look at her, in your eyes. She knows. She knows there is something between them that's only just begun and I guess I shouldn't speak for her but, I bet she can't wait to find out what it is."
She finished to find him staring at her in wonder as she rolled her eyes playfully and looked at her watch and hissed sharply.
"Shit, Fitz! I'm twenty minutes late for class!" She spun round and grabbed the doorknob before throwing a quick goodbye over her shoulder and piling into class uttering multipule apologies as she went.
He laughed and shook his head, "Tom, meet Olivia Pope!"
Tom slyly grinned at his friend, "With all due respect, I think she's a bit out of your league, Sir."
Fitz scoffed and stared at the door the girl he'd been fawning over had just entered, "You're probably right." He said as he gestured towards the office.
"Let's get everything in place for my arrival, final prep and stuff. I have a feeling I'm going to like it here."
And he was certain that feeling had something to do with Olivia Pope.
A/N: Hey! Sorry I've been updating a bit slower than usual lately. I was on a roll and now everything is going to be a bit slower just until Uni finishes (which is only two weeks) and then I'm free for the rest of the year and I can write as much as I want! Yay! Until then, I'd love to hear your thoughts on teen Olitz, how will they go at school together? Will this put Olivia in a compromising position? Will this put Fitz in a compromising position? So many questions, I'm not even sure I have answers yet! In terms of my others stories I should have an update for The American sometime this coming week and that's all I can say for sure until Uni finishes, I'm sorry! But every little review helps me so much and you guys light up my day with your amazing comments, seriously. I just love you guys. Thank you all for being awesome! Also, final question, how do you all feel if I get a little smutty with these two? Or is it too innocent? Let me know!
PS. Season 5 has been really stressful so far, I'm terrified every episode that Olitz are going to crumble and break! Anyone else feeling this? We should start a support group lol
Much love x
Sam
