"As I'm sure you're aware, we've got a new student joining our class today." The students murmured and groaned at the formality of it all, they all knew exactly who would be coming to their school today, it wasn't as if they needed reminding. They'd been drilled with information by the secret service team manager about how there would be no photographs, no selfies and no autographs. He would be treated like anyone else. He would be addressed as 'Fitz' by everyone. The door opened and Fitz walked in, the whole room staring as he shook Mr. Brooke's hand and made his way towards the only empty chair in the classroom.
"Alright, if you remember all remember, today we're scheduled to be discussing Emily Dickinson's 'Hope is a thing with feathers' - poem 314 in her complete works, if you could all get our your books."
The class bustled as everyone began flipping pages.
"Who would like to read?" Olivia was staring at the words so intently that she didn't notice when he'd stopped in front of her desk. She glanced up at him and sighed.
"Thank you, Olivia. When you're ready."
She cleared her throat as the teacher retreated.
"'Hope' is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -"
She paused as she felt his eyes on her, not daring to look up but instead of the bubbling nerves in her stomach causing her to falter and hesitate, she let it spur her on like a fire lit within her.
"And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -"
She kept him warm. She didn't know it and perhaps he'd never tell her because that amount of pressure might scare her off, but she was his feathers, his wings, his fire. She kept him flying and alight, the thoughts of her focusing and calming him. She was unaware how beautiful the words sounded as they fell from her lips but he was so drawn in that the feeling of her consumed him.
"I've heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me."
As she finished she glanced back up at her teacher to find him nodding in approval.
"Any idea what she means?" He'd said, after a beat had passed. He looked at the class expectantly to find them expressionless and bland.
"Nobody's willing to venture a guess?" And just with that he saw a hand go up. The class looked shocked as the teacher nodded his head towards the young man, "Yes, Fitz, please enlighten us."
"She paints 'hope' as a bird. It's unwavering, it isn't swayed by praised or threats. Confident but not proud. It waits and it's nurtured. It's constant, through the good times and the bad. Hope is always there, even in the dark." The room seemed to still in silence as several of their classmates just seemed to ogle their new student. Olivia blushed as he chanced a small look at her, her eyes only shortly meeting his gaze before quickly pulling away as Mr. Brooke smiled.
"Good, Fitz, thank you." He turned towards the blackboard and began writing up their reading for the following class, "Let's continue."

Olivia sat by herself as usual. She was nestled under her favourite tree, her book bag next to her and her lunchbox open. She had just bitten into an apple when she saw him walking towards her with two tall men in suits behind him. She smiled, slightly nervous as she saw that she was his destination. He'd been called at and shouted to as different tables across and around the park had asked him to join them, but he'd politely shaken his head and said thank you.
She crossed her legs, arranging her skirt as he sat down opposite her, both of them now under the huge shade and leaning against the huge oak secret service agents stood several meters away, their backs turned and facing outwards, away form the couple. She wondered for a moment what kind of deal he'd made with them for them to turn a blind eye so casually.
"This is nice." He said and she smiled.
"It's my favourite spot, apart from…" She trailed off as their gazes seemed intertwined and he knew what she would have said.
"Of course."
The moment hung there between them until she broke their stare and glanced at the tree.
"The were going to pull it down a year ago."
"The tree? Why?"
She shrugged, "They wanted to build a new gymnasium."
"How come they didn't?"
She smiled and raised an eyebrow expectantly, "What do you think?"
"How'd you do it?" He was impressed, but not surprised at her strength, she'd need it if she was going to bare their new surroundings.
"I climbed up to the top, it's beautiful view from up there. I sat there for about five days organising local media attention and drawing focus to the history and significance of the tree to the town and the school. It wasn't long before they agreed to acquire the land across the road, they bulldozed a hideous 70's block of apartments and built it there instead. It was more expensive but it meant she school's history remained enriched and I got to keep my tree."
They both laughed and she tore her sandwich in half and handed one part to him which he took.
"Your agents don't have to search it for anything?" She said, half kidding but she felt slight relief when he shook his head.
"Bit hard to hide bombs between bread." She laughed and he loved her smile. The tone shifted slightly and he let one of his hands find hers.
She looked down at their binders laced together before glancing back to him and again falling into his eyes.
"Can I ask you something?" He said earnestly and she nodded, "Will you go out with me?"
She was awestruck, her eyes lit up and her face expanding with joy, causing a similar reaction from him.
"Can I take that smile as a yes?" He said, hesitantly while she titled her head from side to side, weighing her options.
"Yes, Fitz." And with that he leaned forward and it was perfect. The perfect moment and timing that they'd waited for. They met each other, their lips just touching lightly as the tested what this was. They parted and met, three or four times, each kiss getting a few seconds longer but nothing brazen or forward. They were getting to know what it was to be them. The final time lasted only a few seconds but she found her fingers grazing his jaw as she pulled away. He smiled and stood as they heard the bell ring and they walked to class, their hands still join together until they came into the view of everyone else, but even then they walked side by side, in tandem.

A/N: This is only a small chapter but I should have another small chapter up tomorrow, if everything goes to plan. I'm almost finished an update for The American which I should have posted laster this week and I'm thinking about writing another one shot, based on 5x05, witch I'm hoping you'll like/read!? I've just been loving all the Olitz this season. I was saying the other day how it's kind of like the throwback season, with everything we've been seeing in reference to season 2. It's sooo good, I'm not the only one loving it, am I? I have read some hate in this community regarding season 5 and it's sad to see, but hopefully we can all agree it's good to see Olitz happy, at last. After this chapter, we're going to have some angst, I warn you. Our babies are going to find their relationship difficult in the public eye, how will they handle that? How/will they be prepared? Where will Fitz take Olivia out on their date? What will the school think about Olitz? I don't even know the answers to all this yet, but it's coming, I promise. Also I've finally finished Uni (the classes side, still go the assessments) so I should be updating slightly more frequently now! Please let me know what you thought of this chapter and thank you so much for all the awesome favs & follows. You guys are seriously the best fandom out there!
Much love,
Sam x
