Jake and Mac got up at 3 a.m. and headed to Wal-Mart. They were going to try to get some Christmas gifts for their daughter today. Emphasize on the word try.

They pulled up in the Wal-Mart parking lot and already seen a line. Jake let out a loud sigh and McKenzie giggled.

"Do you still want more kids?" She asked jokingly.

"As a matter of fact, I do." He told her. "But I don't want to do Black Friday shopping ever again."

She let out another giggle and they finally found a spot and got out.

"Ok, so what are we looking for here?" He asked as they walked to the back of the line.

"Anything Dora or Disney Princess that she doesn't already have."

"I want a boy next time." Jake joked. "Video games, football, fishing…"

"Aubree loves fishing."

"I'm joking, Mac." He said kissing her forehead.

She smiled. "I know."

They finally got inside and got a few things for their daughter. They headed to the mall next.

"Did you see the way Chel looked yesterday when the conversation of kids came up?" Mac asked when they went inside.

"I think everyone did." He replied and then shrugged. "That's just how Matt is. He loves Aubree but he's just not ready for kids."

"He needs to get ready." McKenzie said a little angry. "Chelsea isn't going to stick around forever waiting on him to step up. She acts like she wants what he wants but she's lying through her teeth."

"Don't push him or her, Mac." He told her. "I know how you can be when you want something. Let them work it out, it's their relationship…not yours."

She knew what Jake was telling her was the right thing, she just didn't want to. She wanted to punch her older brother in the face until he woke up. She loved Chel like a sister and didn't want to see them go their separate ways.

"If we didn't have Aubree, would you have proposed to me?" She questioned.

"What?" He asked stopping to look at her. "Yes, I would have. I love you."

"Matt loves Chelsea."

"I don't see how you are comparing our relationship with theirs." He told her. "We're two different people and they are too."

"Will you talk to him about it?"

"No…not going to do it." He told her shaking his head. "I'm staying out of other's problems."

"My family was always talking to you about our relationship."

"Only because I asked for advice and wanted to talk about it." He told her. "Matt has never came to me with his problems with Chelsea."

"Jake…."

"Will it get you off my back and his if I do?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow.

She nodded with a smile and he sighed.

"Fine, but after this no more."

"I promise." She said happily.

"Ok, now can we please fight these people for some Christmas gifts?"

She nodded again, he took her hand in his and they went into different department stores. Hours later, they drug all the bags inside and Jake was so exhausted that he couldn't see straight.

"Next year, I'm just giving you money or a credit card and you can go." He said. "I've never thought I would get into an argument with a guy over a play kitchen set in Target."

They laughed.

"You won though." She said pecking him on the lips. "She'll love it."

"She better." He joked with a big smile.

"Jake Harris will be the best dad come Christmas morning."

"More like the brokest dad come Christmas morning."

She shook her head with a smile.

They got all the gifts out of the Jeep and brought them inside. They took them upstairs to the spare bedroom and put them in the closet.

"Now can I lounge on the couch and take a much-needed nap?"

"Yes, you can."

He walked downstairs and plopped down on the couch. She came down a few minutes later and got all the clean dishes out of the dishwasher and put them away.

She went over to the bar and sat down opening the lid to her laptop. She logged onto her email account and seen a message from Eliza, Zach's sister. It was a short message wishing her a good Thanksgiving and she attached a picture of her, Zach, and Hannah. She smiled. She missed them but nothing compared to what she had right here in Washington. She now had everything she ever wanted; being around all of her family, friends, a good child and Jake Harris, the love of her life.

She clicked the reply button and thanked her for everything and wished her and the family happy holidays. She told her to keep in touch and clicked the send button. She checked her other messages and logged out. She logged onto her Facebook account and added pictures from the day before labeled Thanksgiving 2011. She smiled when she uploaded the picture of her, Jake and Aubree. The little girl looked just like her dad.

"Wish you were here, Phil." She whispered.

She spent a few minutes online paying some bills and closed the laptop.

"Jake, we forgot to get some things today." She told him going into the livingroom.

He was out, snoring softly.

"Ok, I'll do it online." She giggled and slipped the throw blanket on him. "I love you, Jake."

Duke raised his head at Jake's feet.

"I love you too, Duke." She smiled patting the dog's head.

He licked her hand and laid his head back on Jake's feet.

"What am I gonna do with you two?" She smiled shaking her head.

She went back in the kitchen and looked through the fridge and decided that they would eat the leftovers from yesterday for dinner later. She grabbed something to drink and went back into the livingroom. She laid down beside Jake and he instantly wrapped her in his arms.

"I love you too, Mac." He said kissing her temple.

She smiled and closed her eyes, drifting off.
