A couple of hours after the guys were out there, McKenzie walking out carrying Aubree on her hip.

"Ok, guys…take a break and come in and eat." She told them.

Mark was sawing a board; Jim was measuring, while Jake and Matt were nailing the frame.

Jim went over and tapped Mark who cut off the saw.

"Lunch time." She told them.

They all nodded.

Jake walked up to her and kissed her.

"You are in for a world of trouble, Harris." Mac told him. "I see you can do carpentry. I want a deck."

"Well babe that will have to wait until spring."

Everyone ate and the men went back to the job at hand. Missy took her granddaughter out to the front yard to plant some Japanese Honeysuckle and Winter Jasmine. McKenzie sat on the front porch watching her daughter have a blast planting. Half an hour later, Chelsea pulled up.

"Hi, Chel." McKenzie smiled as her brother's girlfriend made her way to the porch.

"Hey." She said sitting down next to her. "We have a garden and build a deck party?'

"You know it."

A FEW DAYS LATER

McKenzie was trying to get her unruly daughter trying to get her to eat her vegetables when the doorbell rang. She picked up the plate and set it on the counter so her daughter wouldn't knock it off her high chair table and walked to the front door. She opened it to see a crying Chelsea.

"Chel, what's wrong?" She asked her friend letting her inside.

"I left Matt."

"What?" Mac asked closing the door.

"Last night we had another talk about our future."

Chelsea followed Mac into the kitchen and Mac sat down in front of her daughter's high chair trying to feed her the vegetables.

"He brought it up and when we started talking about it I told him how I really felt." Chelsea said getting a drink of the fridge. "He told me he just wasn't ready."

" He's such an..." She was about to call him an asshole but remembered she was in front of her child.

"I told him I was done. I told him I was through waiting around for him to come around." She said. "I finally figured out that I am wasting my time."

"Chelsea, I'm sorry."

"I don't know why he would bring it up anyway."

Mac sighed and gave up trying to feed her daughter after Aubree spit the sweet peas out. She wiped her daughter's face and hands and got her out of the high chair. The little girl went straight over to some of her toys in the corner.

"I may have had something to do with that." Mac fessed up.

"What?"

"I talked Jake into talking to Matt about it."

"Why?" Chelsea groaned.

"I was trying to help, Chel." Mac explained. "I seen how upset you were at Thanksgiving and I just want to know why Matt feels the way he does."

"Seems like he's deadest on his ways." Chelsea said her face falling.

Mac got up and hugged her friend.

"I'm so sorry, Chel." She said. "I thought Matt would buckle."

"Yeah, well he didn't. He's such a stubborn ass."

"Where are you staying?"

"At the house." Chel said. "Matt moved out, he's living with your dad."

Chelsea stayed for a few hours and McKenzie got Aubree dressed and headed over to her father's. She got her sleeping daughter out and took her inside.

"Where's Matt?"

"At the park playing basketball with Josh, Evan and Jake."

"Can you watch her for a few minutes?"

"Sure."

She left without another word and got back into her Jeep and headed to the park. She seen the guys playing ball and walked over to the court. None of the guys seen her until one of the lost the ball and it bounced over to her feet. She picked it up and the guys stopped to look at her. They knew by the look on her face that it was not good.

"You broke up with Chelsea?" She asked hurling the ball towards her brother.

All the guys jumped out-of-the-way.

"What the hell, Mac?" Matt asked.

"You got to be the stupidest guy on this planet!" She yelled at her brother. "You would rather see her walk out of your life instead of proposing?!"

"Mac…" Jake started.

"Shh." She said pointing her finger at her fiancé.

Jake, Josh, and Evan went and sat down on the lone bleachers. They were all going to sit this argument out. They all knew how Mac could be, especially Jake.

"It's my relationship." Matt said picking up the ball. "Stay out of it."

"You're going to regret this for the rest of your life, you dumbass." She said turning around to leave.

Matt was so pissed that he couldn't see straight.

"I'll talk to her when I get home."

"Don't bother." Matt said angrily. "It will only make it worse with her and you should know that."

Jake patted his friend on the shoulder.

"Come on, let's finish the game." Evan said getting up.

Later on that day,

Jake went home and slammed the door.

"What's wrong?" Mac asked coming out of the kitchen.

"You know." He told her taking off his hoodie. "What the hell was that earlier? You made a scene in front of everyone."

"I had to."

"No, you didn't." He told her shaking his head. "It is none of you business. It's none of any of our business. I should have stuck by my gut feeling and not said anything a few days ago."

"What?" Mac asked in disbelief. "I was just trying to help."

"You can help by staying out of it." Jake said sitting down on the couch. "It's Matt's decision and he just isn't ready."

"You were siding with me a few days ago."

"No, I wasn't." He told her. "I done it to please you."

"Well you know what, Jake?" She asked. "From now on don't please me."

"So, you're pissed at me now?"" Jake asked. "Should I hide all the basketballs?"

"You're not funny." She told him. "I'm going out tonight with Chel and Amber so you have to watch Bree."

"Ok." He said. "Where you planning to go?"

"Don't know yet." She said. "Chel needs to have a little fun."
