Jake gave Aubree a bath as Mac was getting ready for a night out. He got her out and changed her into her Little Mermaid jammies. They went into the living room and she grabbed her favorite bear Jake had gotten her and climbed onto the couch next to her dad.

Mac came downstairs dressed and ready to go.

"What's the plan for you two?" She asked.

"I don't know a few beers for us and a few Disney Princess movies." Jake half joked.

"Don't drink too much." She said kissing them both. "I'll be home in a few hours."

"Be careful."

She grabbed her purse and headed out the door.

"Well its me and you, Peanut." He told his daughter.

He made her some water in her sippy cup and handed it to her. He sat down and 15 minutes through the movie, Josh came through the door. He plopped down on the other side of the couch and the little girl climbed into her uncle's lap.

"Hi, my favorite niece." Josh smiled kissing her cheek.

Josh looked to the t.v.

"Little Mermaid, huh?"

"I'm not even going to ask how you know that." Jake said rolling his eyes.

"Where's Mac?" Josh asked. "Dude, she lost it today. Haven't seen her like that since Mark's party."

"She's out with Chelsea and Amber." His little brother told him.

Josh nodded.

The little girl fell asleep not long after, and the guys stepped out to have a smoke.

"You ready to get back out there on the Bering Sea?" Josh asked.

"I'm ready to go back out there and make some money." Jake said. "We need it."

Josh agreed with a nod.

They were trying to get the boat back and at any costs.

GIRLS NIGHT OUT

McKenzie, Chelsea, and Amber left the restaurant and all wanted to go to a nightclub. It was not that late and it wouldn't be too packed. They got a booth and Amber went over to the bar.

"You ok?" Mac asked her friend.

"I'm fine." Chelsea said with a smile. "I haven't had a girl's night in so long…thank you."

"You're welcome."

Amber came back with three mixed drinks and three double shots of tequila.

"Ok, the bartender will keep them coming." Amber said sitting down next to Mac.

"Thank you guys." Chelsea said. "I just needed to get out of the house. Your mom wants to have lunch tomorrow."

"You'll always be part of the family, whether you and Matt get back together or not."

"Yeah." Amber said with a nod. "That's how Jake was when Mac left."

Mac nodded in agreement. "If me and Jake split up right now, my dad would be hanging out with Jake."

A couple of hours later, the girls were buzzed and Amber and Chelsea had danced with a few guys at the club. Mac declined because she didn't want to upset Jake.

"I'm glad she's having fun." Amber said coming back over to the table.

"Me too." Mac said. "I know how upset she is. I could just punch Matthew in the face."

"Please, don't." Amber giggled. "Last time you did that you gave him a black eye for a week."

Mac giggled remembering.

"That's why Jake doesn't push your temper too hard." Amber giggled.

They seen one of their mutual friends come in with Whitney.

"Great, my night is just ruined." Mac said.

"What the hell is Jessica doing hanging out with that trash?"

Jessica looked around the club and spotted Amber and McKenzie and waved. Whitney followed her gaze and seen Mac and smirked.

"I'm going to jail tonight."

"Chillax." Amber told her. "She's not that stupid."

They looked at each other and nodded.

"Yeah, she is." They said in unison.

Chelsea thanked her dance partner and came back over to the table.

"I'm having a blast!" Chelsea said loudly.

"Ok, no more tequila shots for you." McKenzie laughed taking her shot.

"Matt hates to dance."

"Most guys do." Mac told her. "Jake doesn't like to dance either. That's why I always dance with Josh."

Just like McKenzie dreaded, Jessica and Whitney made their way over to their table.

"Hi, guys." Jessica said with a drink in her hand. "Mac, I haven't seen you in years."

"I know." Mac said with a smile.

Jessica, Amber and Mac hung out all the time when they were in high school.

"I heard Jake Harris proposed to you." Jessica said. "Congratulations."

Whitney's face fell as Mac showed Jessica her ring.

"Yeah, it was so sweet. He took me to Lake Chelan for the weekend." Mac said with a satisfied smile.

Whitney looked over at Chelsea.

"Chelsea, I heard you and Matt broke up. Sorry."

"Whitney, isn't there a trash can you should be crawling back into right about now?" Amber asked.

Whitney gave her a sarcastic smile.

"He's free now, so if you want my sloppy seconds go for it." Chelsea said taking her shot back from Mac and downing it. "You love our sloppy seconds."

Mac and Amber burst out laughing.

"C'mon guys, we don't need to be nasty to each other." Jessica said trying to somewhat defuse the situation.

"What are you doing, Jess?" Amber asked. "You disliked Whitney in high school. Are y'all best friends now?"

"She's dating my cousin, Evan." Whitney replied flatly.

"He, we tolerate." Mac spoke up.

"We're going to go." Jessica said quickly. "Mac, send me an invitation."

Mac nodded as Jess pushed Whitney away from the table.

"There's only a handful of people I dislike, and she's one of them." Mac said sipping on her mixed drink. "But Chel, wow. I didn't know you had it in you. You were kind of a bitch."

"Learned it from you, Mac."

The girls laughed.

An hour later, Mac and Amber were dragging an intoxicated Chelsea into her house.

"I never thought it would be the other way around." Mac joked.

"Yeah, I know. It's usually me and Chelsea dragging your drunk ass into a house." Amber said on the other side of Chelsea.

They put her on the couch and covered her with a throw.

"Chel, you guys and purse are on the end table." Mac told her friend. "We're going to lock up. Sleep it off."

"Ok." Chelsea mumbled already falling asleep.

Amber and Mac locked up and left. Mac dropped Amber off and then headed home. She pulled up and seen all the lights were off. She pulled her car into the garage next to Jake's BMW and got out. She went inside and locked up behind her. She made her way upstairs and peaked in to see her daughter sleeping soundly in her toddler bed and Duke sleeping beside her on the floor.

"Duke, the protector." Mac said walking out.

She headed into the master bedroom where she heard Jake snoring softly. He ended as much sleep as possible before he headed back to Alaska. She quietly got a pair of shorts and one of Jake's DC shirts and went into the bathroom. She took a quick shower and changed. She brushed her teeth and walked out of the bathroom. She climbed into bed next to Jake who didn't stir.

She smiled before closing her eyes.
