First off, enjoy this chapter. Sorry it took so long to write. Been busy.
IMPORTANT! Secondly, please read what I have written at the end. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO!
Thirdly, this is the last chapter in this story. For more information, look at the bottom of the page. :)
Sam laughed cruelly, blood coating his hands. Humans lay dead around him, their bodies twisted and nearly unrecognizable. Autobots were in pieces, sputtering and spitting sparks, destroyed because of their protection of the humans and their own stupidly trusting nature. Bumblebee, the last living Autobot on Earth, pushed himself up, one optic gone and half of his face torn off.
"Why? Why Sam?" he croaked, pain and confusion coloring his voice.
"Because he's mine," a deep, menacing voice growled, and beside him appeared a golden colored Cybertronian, a triumphant grin on his face. "He shall take over this planet and rid the universe of your sickening love and friendship."
"No," Bumblebee moaned.
"Kill him," Unicron hissed to Sam.
Sam grinned, a chuckle coming to his throat. "As you command, master," he purred.
Power surged through him and Bumblebee's optics grew wide as he shot a single, burning bolt of electricity straight at the mech's spark…

Sam sat up, screaming, his eyes wide. Every single mech in the room jerked online, sitting up and looking around wildly. Bumblebee's hands closed around him protectively as he sat up, causing the frightened boy to fall into his hands. Optics fell on him and Bumblebee shook him slightly, trying to get the hyperventilating boy to calm down.
"Sam? Sam! What is it?" he demanded.
The boy turned to look at his guardian's face and he reached up, feeling it to make sure it was all there and not half gone. When he found his guardian's face completely intact and saw two optics staring at him in concern, his breathing slowly returned to normal and he placed his face in his hands, shaking from head to foot. He could hear the murmuring of the mechs around him, wondering what had happened. He was too disgusted and horrified to tell them, especially his beloved guardian. How could he tell Bumblebee he had killed him in his dream? No…No, no, no, no, no. He wouldn't do it. Light suddenly burst around him and he looked up shyly, his bottom lip trembling.
"Ratchet?" Bumblebee asked softly.
The green mech took him in his servos and scanned him several times.
"I'm guessing he had a nightmare, Bumblebee," the medic said finally. "His vitals are still a little high, but they are calming quickly."
"He breaks us all out of recharge because of a nightmare?" Prowl demanded with a snort. "How ridiculous."
"Leave him alone, Prowl," Bumblebee snapped viciously.
"He cannot control his dreams Prowl," Optimus said in his deep voice, and Sam calmed considerably.
"But he's just-" Prowl started.
"Say he's just an organic and I blast you to kingdom come," Bumblebee threatened, charging up a weapon to make his point.
Prowl huffed, and, to everybody's surprise, Sunstreaker spoke, albeit hesitantly. "Is he…okay?"
"Why, Sunny," Sideswipe gasped dramatically. "Dost thou truly care for yonder human?"
"You've been reading too much Shakespeare," Sunstreaker said with a growl. "And…I just want to make sure we're not going to be startled out of another sound recharge."
"I'll be fine," Sam said quietly. "Let's get back to sleep."
There was a mumbled agreement and Sam was handed back to Bumblebee. The boy settled on the mech's chest and relaxed completely. Soon everybody was asleep but Sam. He slid off of Bumblebee, leaped lightly onto the floor, and hurried out the door. He went to the clearing, where the earth mech was waiting for him. He knew now what his name was. He didn't know how he had known, but in the dream he had.
"Unicron, eh?" Sam asked listlessly, still shaken by the dream.
"Yes," the Earth mech replied, an almost smile making his mouth twitch.
"That dream…is that my future?" Sam asked, keeping his voice calm and even.
"Oh, it can be, boy," Unicron said excitedly. "Think of what we could do together, the power you could possess! You could get revenge on those parents of yours."
The last thought gave Sam pause and he felt a surge of desire. Oh to make his father and mother pay! That would be delightful! But…Optimus had told him he didn't need to get revenge. And Ironhide said there was nothing to gain from it, and that he knew that from personal experience. He lowered his head. But still…
"And what would I have to do to make that happen?"
Unicron's smile was almost too mean to even be called a smile. "You just have to choose me, and not Primus."
"Primus? Is he the water mech?" Sam asked, honestly confused.
"Yes, yes," Unicron said angrily. "All his promises are so silly. You would get power, yes, but not like I could give it to you. With his you would still have what you humans call your conscience, and would have to protect and defend life and love and all that nonsense. With me, you could live without restriction, second in power only to me! Decepticons would follow your commands, and Autobots would fall beneath your mighty fist! It will be a paradise!"
His promises sounded sweet as sugar. "So I would choose you and the Autobots would fall? No more of their heroism and ideals?"
"Not a bit," Unicron said. "So, have we got a deal?"
Sam thought about it, really thought about it for several minutes. He finally looked up at the earthen mech and made his decision.
"That dream showed me what life would be like with you and, quite frankly, I don't like it," Sam said firmly, and Unicron's smile faded. "The Autobots are the only friends and real family I have ever had. Not to say I choose Primus, because I don't. Not yet, anyways. I may or may not. But I most certainly will not choose you. Ever. You are evil and despicable and I never want to be a part of any paradise you imagine. I know my past is dark and bloody, but that doesn't mean my future needs to be, too."
Unicron literally turned red, the earth around him steaming as anger rose from him. The earth began to quiver and then to shake. It grew more and more violent and Sam fell to his knees, gasping as the earth cracked around him. Without thinking, he crawled to the stream, but before he could touch it, he felt raw heat grab his ankle, yet it didn't burn him. He screamed and fought violently, knowing he had to get into the water.
The boy reached forward and as soon as his fingers touched the water, it arched up and whiplashed the angry god. Unicron wailed and let go of Sam, who crashed into the water, which rushed up around him to form a protective bubble. The earthquake became even more violent and the earth that covered Unicron suddenly blew up, leading to a crescendo of bone jarring shaking, then suddenly, stillness. Sam was breathing shakily and he swallowed hard.
Reaching forward, he pressed a finger into the water protecting him and watched in fascination as it popped in slow motion. Sam stood and stepped hesitantly onto the earth then, when it didn't start shaking again, sat down on it and stared numbly ahead. He noticed that he wasn't wet at all, despite sitting in the middle of a stream. He gave a shaky laugh, which suddenly turned to crying.
He was wrapped in cool arms and found himself cradled against Primus. He calmed immediately, his tears ceasing. Primus was smiling so warmly at him that he blushed.
"You are very brave, Sam, standing up to Unicron like that. I have not seen him that angry in a long, long time. Very smart move, getting in the stream."
"It was the only thing I could think of, honestly. That was one bad earthquake," Sam admitted then sat bolt upright. "The Autobots!"
He leaped out of Primus' arms and ran to the tree line, peeking at the Autobots' base just as the sun peeked into the sky, splashing brilliant colors across the sky and lighting up the world. The base was in ruins. Mechs were standing around it, some leaking energon and other fluids, others sitting around the base in a daze, and in the midst of it all, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Jazz, Ratchet and Optimus were all digging frantically in the wreckage, calling his name.
Sam was about to run to him when a thought made him pause. Unicron would not leave them alone. That he knew. He had practically admitted that it was the Autobots that had influenced his decision not to choose him. Maybe, just maybe if he wasn't around, they would be left alone. Would Primus approve of it, though?
There was a soft chuckle in his ear. "That is up to you Sam. I will say this, though. They will all miss you terribly and may not forgive you if you appear sometime down the road."
Sam hummed, looked up at the water mech, who was just an outline beside him, and made his decision.
IMPORTANT! This decision is YOURS! Tell me in the comments or vote on the poll I set up on my profile. Your choices are A) Have Sam stay with the Autobots and get their help or B) Leave the Autobots and try on his own. Please tell me ASAP so I can write the next installment. It will be a new story, and I will post a new chapter telling you when it is up. Please vote, because I can't decide which way to go! :)
